Questions on the forum
1. How do I write a PM in the forum?
Simply click on the username and select private messages. If someone sends you a PM, you will find this in the notifications next to your name at the top of the bar. You can find the member list here (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/memberlist.php).
2. Where can I check if my bug has already been reported, and where can I post it?
Look in Technical problems and bugs (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/forums/182-Technical-problems-and-bugs) in the forum and check to see if your bug is already there. If it has not yet been reported, you can create a new thread with a clear and accurate heading.
3. How do I find posts I have written?
On the forum click on "My profile" on the top right. You can see your messages by clicking on "Show posts".
Questions about the chat
1. How do I write things in the chat?
Below the chat you will see a list of the various chat rooms with a blank line underneath. Simply click in it and start writing. When you have finished, just confirm using Enter.
2. What can I do to learn all about the chat?
Just enter /help, and you will then see some commands; /version will tell you which version is currently online.
3. Why is the text in the chat shown in a colour?
Colour is reserved for the moderators (MOD_ yellow) and the BlueByte or Ubisoft staff (BB_ blue). Whenever your name is included in the text, your text will be shown in orange (this also happens if you type your name in).
4. What are the rules in the chat?
The chat has filters and is run to a PEGI7 standard. You can check the rules for the chat (and forum) here (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/21679-In-game-Rules-Code-of-conduct-(chat-and-forum))
Questions about the game
1. When can I trade with other players?
To do this you need a Trade Office, which you can build from level 12.
2. How do I trade with other players?
You can start trading once you have built the Trade Office. To trade, you must select the Trade Office icon next to the Star at the bottom of your screen. Once in here click on the green refresh circle to get a list of all trades, you can then apply fliters by using the options to the right of the main trade office window, by either searching for a keyword of the item you want or by unticking item categories you are uninterested in. Once you've found a trade you'd like to transact, you can click on the trade then select Accept offer.
You can also sell goods by using the Selling tab at the bottom, this is where you enter what you would like to give and what you would like to get in return. Once this has been listed it will stay there until someone else accepts your offer, until you cancel it or until 6 hours pass, upon which the items will be returned to you.
You can also view your transaction history in the History tab below.
Beware of the items locations in relation to the trade! Cost is what you will give up, Offer is what you will receive when buying from other players!
You can also trade directly with friends or Guild members after 24 hours of being a friend/Guild member
3. How do I found a Guild?
Should you wish to join a Guild, no Guild House is required. If you do wish to start your own Guild you need to build a Guild House (available at level 17) with either resources or purchase one with Gems from the Merchant.
4. How regularly do I acquire more settlers?
You will receive another settler every 15 minutes automatically, however be careful as when you reach your population limit no new settlers will be produced.
You can view all the important information using the mouse-over function on the settler’s head at the top of the screen.
5. How can I speed up the acquisition rate of new settlers?
You can increase the rate of acquisition temporarily with certain buffs like Love Potion, settlers may be hired for Bread in the Provision House resource tab and the Village School from the Merchant produces 1 settler every two hours.
6. Can I adjust the game speed?
No, you cannot change the game speed.
7. How do I save the game?
The game will be constantly saved in the background, so don’t look for the diskette icon. ;-)
8. How do I quit the game?
Simply close the browser/browser tab.
9. What happens when I am not online?
Your settlers will continue working as normal, but perhaps you should check that you have provided adequate storage so the settlers don’t have to stop work during the night because everything is full.
Your island's production will stop if you fail to login for 48 hours.
Questions about the map
1. How many players are on an island?
You are all alone on your island with the passive bandit camps.
2. Why can’t I build on the forest areas I have cleared?
This is to prevent you from having no more tree resources at a later date because everything is built up.
3. What shall I do when a mine deposit is depleted?
Simply send your geologist out again, who will normally find additional deposits.
4. What do I do if my fish stocks are exhausted?
Just produce some fish food in the provisions house and then apply these to the resource, or buy them from the Merchant.
5. Do the boundary stones remain?
Yes, the boundary stones stay where they are; only their colour changes when you capture a sector.
6. Do I have to build roads?
No, you don’t need roads for the moment, as your settlers won’t stay on them. They are more like decorative objects.
Questions about the military
1. How is the fog dispelled and how do I find the bandit camps?
Click the explorer in the Star menu to explore new sectors (spyglass). The fog will then lift and the bandit camps will also be visible.
2. When can I attack a bandit camp?
From the Quest in level 15.
3. What are the abbreviations for the individual units?
r = recruit
b = bowman
m = militia
lb = longbowman
c = cavalry
s = soldier
4. What is the influence area of a bandit camp?
If you click on a bandit camp, you will see a red coloured area around the camp; this is the influence area of the bandit camp.
5. What happens if my General passes through the influence area of a bandit camp?
He will attack this bandit camp, unless that camp is already in battle with another general. You should therefore watch out that the General does not pass through the influence area of a bandit camp when he is on his way to another camp! An enemy camp is in battle when you see people fighting in a dust cloud next to it
6. How do I acquire a General?
You can buy a General in the tavern.
7. How do I assign my troops to a general?
Go to the Star menu and click on your General, where you can use the slider bar to send the relevant number of troops to a garrison. Once you have the correct number of troops assigned, click the OK button.
8. What is the best way of attacking the camps?
Please consult the forum for tips from other players. If you have any suggestions about bosses and camps, feel free to add them to the forum!
Here you can find some help and suggestions. The combat system may change however, as it has not yet been finalized. ;-)
9. Is it enough just to destroy the main enemy camp in a sector?
Theoretically it is enough. You will also be awarded XP for the remaining camps. However, you will not receive the bonus resources for the victory over the camp. The General will also attack all the camps en route to the main camp.
10. What happens if I attack a bandit camp with several Generals?
The Generals will attack in "waves". This means that the General who arrives first also fights first and the other Generals wait until the battle is over. The second General then fights and after this it is the turn of the third.
11. Can the General die?
The General cannot die currently; he can only be injured and then needs a period of 4 hours to regenerate. Other special Generals have faster recovery times
Questions on the buildings
1. What are building licences?
Each licence allows you to build one building from the Build Menu. You can check the amount you have with the building icon on the top bar in the game. When you have used your building licence allocation you will not be able to place any new buildings. To obtain more you can purchase them from the Merchant or you can gain them by defeating leader camps on your home island. Both of these methods will grant you an additional 10 building licences.
Wells, farm fields and buildings from the Merchant do not require any building licences.
2. Do I get resources back if I demolish a building?
Yes, however you will only get 25% of the original resources used to create the building. (Not including upgrade costs)
3. Do I get the building licence back if I demolish a building or when a mine is exhausted?
You will automatically recover 1 licence to reuse should a mine exhaust or when you destroy a building that is currently using a licence. You will also recover a licence should you knock down a mine before it depletes.
4. What happens when my store is full?
Once your store is full, the relevant production processes will be halted. You should therefore ensure that you have enough storehouse space.
5. What do I do when a field is harvested?
Simply build a new one.
6. What does it mean when there is no progress bar in the Building menu?
This could be for a number of reasons, it may be sleeping, upgrading, full or it just means that your settler is on his way to the store or from the store to the building, once he arrives the production will start.
7. Can I rotate buildings?
No, you cannot do this at present.

Other Queries
1. Where can I find out what has changed in a new version?
Simply have a look in the Change Logs ( http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/22645-Change-Logs) thread. Here you will find out about the bug fixes and which production times have been changed, etc.
2. Where can I read about my current Quest if I have closed the box?
Simply click on the Quest Book, this is the sheet with an exclamation mark (!) next to your avatar, and you can then refer to your Quest again.
3. Where can I find out how many XP (experience points) I need for the next level?
Simply move your mouse pointer over the semi-circular display under your avatar and the XP will be displayed there.
4. Why can’t I build any buildings in the captured area?
The first building you can build in a captured area is the storehouse. You cannot start new building projects for other buildings until the storehouse has been built.
5. Where can I find my geologist/explorer?
You will see a star at the bottom of the screen (Star menu) once you have hired them from the Tavern, and you should find them there if everything has gone according to plan. ;-)
6. Where can I find the discovered treasure or the rewards for victory in combat?
You will receive a mail detailing the rewards, once accepted you can then find them in the Star menu.
7. What are buffs for?
Buffs increase the productivity of your production chains for a certain time or give you resources or settlers.
8. Where do I obtain gold coins?
You receive gold coins by carrying out Quests, the explorer’s treasure hunt, level-ups and sometimes as a reward after battles or later with a Gold Mine, Gold Smelter and a Coinage. You can also receive them later on as a reward from adventures.
9. What can I do with gems?
You can use gems to buy resources, buildings or certain decorative items at the Merchant (the treasure chest at the bottom right of the screen). They can also be used to increase the speed of several production items, automatically upgrade buildings or even complete certain quests.
10. How do I get more gems?
You can buy gems from the shop, you can also get 45 additional gems as a bonus for logging in 7 days in a row. Gems may also be received when reaching certain levels in the game or even for some quest rewards.
Thank you for this post.
Got answers to all my questions :)
o Foresters - Woodcutters - Sawmills (Fir wood planks)?
3 - 2 - 4
o Foresters - Woodcutters - Coking plants (Coal)?
3 - 2 - 2
Question, do you mean I should build 3 Foresters, 2 woodcutter, 4 Sawmills , then I go to the next one and build another 3 foresters, 2 woodcutter, 2 coking plants ....... and so on ??
Someone said in chat box that there is a topic tells you how many building you need, so I wonder if this is it.
BB_Azariel

What it means is that the best way of making all your wood into planks is like that. If you add coking plants, you'll have to add Woodcutters and Foresters.
You don't have to do this exactly like this, this is only the best ration so that none of your buildings misses out on resources.
i am in 7th levels.how can i go to 8th levels
Thanks for this. The ratio listing is very helpful.
I had the same problem and the answer seems to be to produce a fish platter in the provisions building. It is in the buff tab !!
BB_Azariel
29.11.11, 13:06
It could be because making Tools does not require the same amount of coke than for making swords.... or it could be that the production times are not the same.
feel free to investigate if you have time ;)
Fast reply, just when I deleted the post :). Yep, meanwhile I realised why.
3. How do I found a guild?
You need to build a guild house, available at level 16.
Guild House available at level 17,Azariel. I just checked it out.

08.12.11, 14:51
Daynaboy1976, please don't post the same message several times: use the edit button. The only thing you'll get from spamming is being banned from the forum... and we don't want that to happen.
In response to your question, I have no idea why your marble mason is not working. Could be many things, but as you gave no explanation to your problem, we can give no real answer.
Possible solutions are:
- you haven't found any marble quarries with your geologist
- you have a problem with flash and need to empty your cache and cookies and check that Flash is up to date
If you are still having problems, send a ticket to the support team.
Is there a way to see an inventory of your buildings, or do you just have to count what you have?
BB_Azariel

Hi SryanD,
For the moment the only way is to count. I hope we get a better economy tool soon though as it would be really useful.

Why do i not get my building licences back when i demolish my buildings?
Why do i not get my building licences back when i demolish my buildings?
You do. It sometimes just does not update right away. You have to wait a while or refresh your browser.
Do settler numbers gradually increase? I've just been told I have no available workers for the latest quarry I've built. I also have plenty of tools... so, I'm stuck basically...
KillerCore
20.01.12, 13:04
You have a max population limit which can be increased with Residences/Noble Residences. If the max population limit is not reached then each 15 minutes 1 settler arrives.
hey, why I cannot add friend using an email

I don't uderstand this guide, sir!
When it says:

3 - 2 - 4
I build 3 Foresters, 2 Woodcutters and 4 Sawmills.
But when it writes somethink like that:
o Farms/Wells - Brewers (Beer)?
2/1 - 1
What 2/1 means? I should build 2 Farms and 1 Well? Or how I should read that "/" numbers?

What do i actually need to do to increase my storage capacity? Upgrade the Mayor House? Or the Provision House? or Storehouse?

What do i actually need to do to increase my storage capacity? Upgrade the Mayor House? Or the Provision House? or Storehouse?
To get more storage - you need to upgrade your Mayors House or your storehouse.
Upgrading the provisions house will make the provisions house produce provisions faster.
Tip:- if you hover over the upgrade button to each building, it tells you what the upgrade will be.

Does upgrading automatically get possible after a while, or can I do something to find hardwood planks or marble?
I mean: after a while you are able to build the necessary building to find the resources OR can I find the resources earlier in the game in any way?
Coins can be used for buying generals, geologists and explorers at the tavern. They are also needed for upgrading buildings to higher tiers. Players will try and tempt you into using them for trade, but think carefully before you do because they are much harder to come by than marble, hardwood planks, swords etc.
You don't lose your game if you ignore it for a while, but limited resources like mines, wells and fields will eventually run out and your warehouse will become full of the other goods so progress will come to a halt.
If you look at the building lists at the bottom of the screen (basic, intermediate, advanced, expert) you can see at what level each building becomes available. Once you have built a branch office you can try trading for items you cant yet produce and your explorer(s) can sometimes find higher tier items too. On the whole though you can't jump ahead of the standard rate of progress unless you are willing to buy and use plenty of gems.

how do i refil mij coper mine when it is exhausted because it disapears and can,t refil it
Send your geologist out looking for copper and he will either find a new spot to build on or he will refill the existing one.
Same applies to stone, copper, marble, iron, coal, gold etc
"or he will refill the existing one." this is not accurate as it replaces the building with a new resource node - the mine needs to be rebuilt on top of it again with the standard build cost.

I'm lv 16 atm.

You only need need a guild house if you intend on forming a guild. Anyone that has a guild house without the intention of being a guild leader has just wasted their resources.
Guild House available at level 17,Azariel. I just checked it out.

A Guild House can be found in the intermediate buildings tab. If you finished that building, you should be able to found one.
I find this guide very useful, thank you very much for creating it! =]
However, there is one information I can't find... Any tips on how many masons should I have? Because I am struggling with getting enough stone for my constructions =/ For now I am only interested in stone mason, but I will gladly take some info about others as well for future reference.

I have a question. I still dont understand how i can get hardwood-planks..
Can you help me?
Hardwood planks are from the hardwood production line.
Hardwood Planter, Hardwood cutter and Hardwood sawmill are under the advanced buildings tab.
If you are not high enough level, you will not have access to them yet.
how can i get more marble?
hi how do i build my tools resorces up
Hi!
I just beat the bandit leader in the sector left of the starting one, but I did not receive any new building licenses. Is it a bug/what am I doing wrong?
I've run out of them and I just reached lvl 18, so I need them for the iron production.

The licences should be in your star menu.

Maybe because you clicked to stop production, click on building and resume production..Or maybe you dont have enough
resources on land that that building produce.

Why you should do that? Maybe admins will add MOVE option in this game later,so you will be able to move buildings. And this is just a game,
its not very important positions of your buldings, its important what that buildings produce, how much produce and can you have enough
resources for further expanding.

BB_Azariel
Have only just started playing and asked myself this question and sifted through the forum for an answer, is there now away how you know how many buildings you have?
How do you join a guild? I don't want to found one, I'd like to join a pre-existing one, but unless I've missed something there doesn't seem to be an option for that.
choose guild from the guild list and choose where you want to join. Guild probably has requirements, like pay 400coins, you must have branch office etc.
Branch office= Building that you need if you want trade other peoples.
400 coins= Leader need probably to buy membership that cost 400 coins that give 1 member more to join to the guild.
If you can fill those requiments send applications to guild leader. I find my guild this way, I hope its helps you too.

Maybe some useful tips to add for those at the early stages of this game.
(#) This game is different from earlier Settler games. Every resource is brought to the nearest storehouse, even in between the steps in a particular production chain (f.i. Mine -> storehouse -> melter -> storehouse -> toolmaker -> storehouse). So it's very important to build your buildings as close as possible to a storehouse or the mayor's house, to keep production times (which includes travel) to a minimum. Another important piece of information is that the buildings in a production chain do not need to be close to each other. The melters can be on the other side of the map from the mines, as long as both are close to a storehouse. Resources dropped off in one storehouse can be picked up instantly from a storehouse on the other side of the island (how's that for logistics...)
(#) Another tip with regard to building placement... There are some buildings that have no direct interaction with your storehouses (no travel to and from), so they can be build as far away as possible from the storehouses, so you keep the space around them available for the buildings that do have that interaction. The buildings that do not interact (with the storehouse) are: Residence, Provision house, Barracks, Tavern, Branch office, Guild house and Noble residence. Also, if you build farms, place the farm buildings close to the storehouse and the fields around that.
(#) Upgrading you basic resource buildings can free up building licences. In stead of having 6 foresters and 4 woodcutters to supply 4 sawmills and 2 coking plants for instance, you can have the same production with half those buildings by upgrading them to level 2, saving 8 building license that you can use on other buildings. You can also use the upgrades to increase production if it's not enough to meet your demands. Keep in mind that the buildings that produce the advanced resources (like Marble and Hardwood) require gold to upgrade the buildings. Gold is always in short supply, so invest it wisely.
(#) The building location of Quarries and mines depend on the place where the geologist discovers the resources. These locations determine where a quarry is best built and also where to place your storehouses close to those locations. I made a map with all the stone, copper, marble, iron, gold and coal deposits I have found so far... (the geologist will keep finding new deposits in these locations if you send him out after one is depleted)
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w207/Dobby2dmaX/resources.jpg
(#) Hiring a second geologist at some point is not a bad thing either. When you start getting access to more resources (Marble, Iron, Coal and Gold) 1 geologist is just not enough to keep discovering all those deposits. A second one can be hired from the Tavern for 300 gold coins. (A third one costs 600)
how do i get unemployed workers to work?
I guess this also depends on the buildings lvls? If, say, a forester is on lvl 2 that will change the ratio?!
You state that if you demolish a building or mine you get a building license back. I do not get one back why?

Thank you everyone who has taken the time to put this guide together, and to help answer newbie questions! Overall this guide is awesome and provides some great tools and tips for new folks - - but unfortunately, not many of us do our homework before jumping in. :(
Q1: What is the working radius of each structure?
For Example:
Using a 7x7 grid area, if I place a pine cutter at the center of this area, how far will the pine cutter travel to cut wood? I've discovered so far there is no limit to the distance the workyards will go to the storage facility.
I think it would be helpful for new players especially if there was a highlighted area around each structure as you're beginning your build so you can best plan your workyards.
Unfortunately, I did not discover these forums until I was level 10 so I was not able to take advantage of all the knowledge stored here for newbies like me so I've made a right mess of my island and want to rip it all up and start from square 1 again.
Q2: Is there a way to tell as you are building a structure or workyard which ones will be store house dependant for productivity?
I'm wondering if I'm missing something as I build different items. As a person brand new to the game, jumping in both feet first, it made sense to me to put the pine cutter near the pine trees. I then placed the forester near the areas being cut based on the assumption the forester would need to be near where I wanted the trees to be replenished. I placed the sawmill near the pine cutter under the assumption the wood wouldn't have to travel far to be cut into planks.
Reading this guide after the fact has made me realize just how inefficient my current island is, and has made me paranoid about placement of new structures so I am continuing on this horrible inefficient slide. My wheat field is directly next to my storage facility and only afterwards am I seeing it is not dependant on the store house at all, but solely on the farm(s) around it.
Q3: Can the island be completely trashed to start over?
I've seen this question asked twice before, but a I haven't seen a definitive answer as yet. I see the developers are working on the ability to move structures around which will be a great help, however, with new folks who, like me, want to jump in with both feet - if there were some kind of early level newbie learning curve to allow a structure to be moved within the first 24 hours of placement, I think it would help create a less frustrated and happier environment.
If my hubby hadn't already used so many resources giving me buffs, I would have deleted my account and started a whole new one just to set up my island a bit more efficiently from the git go.

To capture a sector, first you have to clear if of bandits. Once it's cleared of bandits, you need to build a storehouse in the new sector.

4. I have already captured a sector and still cannot progress to level 17. What am I doing wrong?
To reach level 17 you must capture two sectors, namely sectors 5 and 8; the sector in the middle and then the one below.
...
One of the maps, see Combat-Guide & FAQ (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/15383-Guide-Combat-Guide-FAQ), shows a numbering like
7 8 9
4 5 6
1 2 3
so that sectors 5 and 8 as the middle row middle and top row middle. So, according to the numbering in the Combat Guide, did you mean "the sector in the middle and then the one above that" or did you mean "sectors 5 and 2".
Thanks
Sectors 5 and 2 are the ones you need.
Actually, completely capturing both of those sectors will almost get you to level 19, you only need the bottom half of sector 5.

If you remove a building you get back the license it took to create the building.
Ten new licenses will be obtained after you attack and defeat the Bandit Leader in a sector, see

for some help on planning the campaigns in each sector.

Yes Numinar, this is correct.

So there's two different wood cutters on build menu and one sawmill, that does both types of planks, even when it says it's pine wood sawmill and the other planks are pine and other are hardwood? You need different smelters for metal, so I'm asking this stupid question here, seeing my hard wood plank count in storage doesn't go up at all and the storage is full of hard wood logs.
Ah, my Macbook has too low resolution to show the two first rows of advanced buildings menu. So can't really play this game. :I

Thanks, and sorry for my bad english.
The licence is returned when the mine becomes depleted and not when you destroy an exhausted mine.

Adventures, explorers and trade. Same goes for granite, saltpeter and titanium ore.
Hi BB_Azariel, Do production lines need to be in the same sector? For example, can I just add up all my woodcutters and foresters across all sectors and use that number to calculate additional buildings? Or is it that only foresters, wodcutters and coking plants in one sector will produce coal most efficiently? Cheers SPUD2888

There are only two pairs that must be placed together: Forresters / Wood Cutters & Fields / Farms. Everything else can be located in any sector (e.g. Hunter / Butcher, Smelter / Weaponsmith, Cutter / Coker)

Foresters & woodcutters no not 'have' to be close together. You can place them at different corners of your island if you want. It's just very inefficient to do that, but the cutter's would still cut down the trees planted by the foresters. Only with a travel time of a few minutes.

No they don't have to be placed together but there are more reasons for doing it than not. In the same way that I could walk backwards all the way home if I wanted to but it wouldn't be very sensible.
Cutters don't cut down the trees planted by the foresters, it's actually the other way round. The foresters replace the trees cut down by the cutters as the deposits are maxed out when you start. If you placed 2 cutters in sector 1 and three planters in sector 9 you would eventually end up with the cutters travelling all the way to sector 9 due to deposit travel times in fairness you would likely end up with then all working in sector 5 as they'd reach an equilibrium in time. Pretty pointless either way :D
Hi, can someone tell me what the exclamation mark on bandit camp means?
Hi, can someone tell me what the exclamation mark on bandit camp means?
That's a camp which is considered too hard to kill in one wave (at least using a normal general).
Hi, and how do you know that tage?
And what about the combat preview...anybody knows what it is and how it works?
Hi, and how do you know that tage?
They've been on the tester for a while. :)
There are actually two kinds of exclamation marks on bandit camps...
The skull tells it's a hard camp, needing more than one attack wave (according to BB)
The crown tells it's a leader camp
A skull with a crown means it's both the above
And what about the combat preview...anybody knows what it is and how it works?
Also the combat previewer has been on the tester, but I'd call it rather rudimentary.
It will not give you any result for hard camps (those with exclamation marks and skulls), just telling you that more than one wave is needed. And it will tell you that even if you'd smash the camp with no losses (like attacking camp 7 in Outlaws with a veteran having 1E 249XB).
When attacking camps that are not considered hard, the combat previewer will give you one of the following four estimates:
Complete victory - you will lose 20% of your units at most.
Acceptable losses - you will lose between 20% and 50% of your units.
High losses - you will lose between 50% and 95% of your units.
Complete defeat - you will lose more than 90% of your units or may even be defeated.
It does not however take into account the types of units being lost.
Thus it would e.g. consider a loss of 80 soldiers (less than 50%) to be better than a loss of 120 recruits (more than 50%).
I will still be using my favourite combat simulator rather than even checking the ingame combat previewer. :p

how can I upgrade mayor house, capacity is 700, and it needs 810 for upgrade?
Upgrade one of your two storehouses first.
The mayor's house has a storage capacity of 500.
Each lv 1 storehouse you've built has a storage capacity of 100.
A lv 2 storehouse has a storage capacity of 500.
Upgrade one, and your total storage capacity would be 1100.

Adventures are removed from your star menu when you start it, so if you finished one bounty hunter already, then it is correct that it is not in your star menu anymore. You can buy 1 new Bounty Hunter from the gem shop for 10 fish.

i am new, am trying to move a building in my construction queue up or down the order but arrows wont activate! Really bugging me since i cant complete quests till this is resolved. I also bought an extra construction slot, have 1 hr but can't make use of it! Am i wasting my time on this game or what!?

at the moment there are only 2 in the non epic chain i beleave. thay are moverly love (follow on from island of pirates) and old friends (follow on from witch of the swamp) the new fairy tails epic adventures is suspost to give a chance of 1 out of 2 followon's and each of those has a chance to give 1 more follow on for a total of 4 (3 adventures in a chain which depends on which follow on you get from the first adventure) follow on from the beginning one. if you get lucky and get a follow on the rewadrs are usually alot better then the first adventure but not any higher in difficuality (not sure about the epic followon's though)
Is there anywhere on the forums, where it tells you the ratios for the more advanced buildings, such as crossbows, damascene swords, cannons, etc?
There are many many useful tips in this thread. The link you want is in post 3.

Hey guys, thanks for the guide, really helpfull! I don't really get the input for the wood cutters though.... Can I get one level 3 forrester to feed 2 level 2 (or more) cutters? Because the input is simply stated as: pinewood tree but does this mean it creates the building level in logs from one tree or do I need 2 level 3 forresters for 2 level 2 cutters?

As a rule of thumb you use 3 foresters for every 2 woodcutters (same level).
The maths:
I you leave travel time out of the equation, the following is true.
A level 1 forester will grow 1 tree every 2 minutes and 15 seconds.
A level 1 woodcutter will cut 1 tree every 1 minute and 30 seconds.
So to even the balance you need 3 foresters (planting 3 trees every 2:15) and 2 woodcutters (cutting 2 trees every 1:30), since that would be the same as planting 6 trees every 4:30 (2x 2:15) and cutting 6 trees every 4:30 (3x 1:30)
Keep in mind that the travel time will influence the ratio a bit so keep an eye on the contents of your tree deposits. If you see them emptying out pretty quickly, you'll need to build an additional forester.
(Yes, you can also build 1 level 3 forester for each level 2 woodcutter, since that would create the same balance)

You can use books created from the Bookbinder, these can then be assigned to your geologist to give them additonal abilities when searching which you can find out more about here
