Found another nice guide on the american forums, this time about placement of your buildings.
have fun reading :)

Confused on the most efficient placement of your buildings? Here is a simple way to organize your town based on acquiring overall shortest production times.

The methodology behind this is that things like the Bowyer have much longer base production times, and travel time is a much lower percentage of their production time regardless of where they are situated.

These are only organized within categories by base production times, place them according to your own priorities in-game.

Buildings that should be placed NEAR RESOURCES (To free up space near storage facilities)

Woodcutter (pine, Hardwood)
Forester (pine, Hardwood)
Masons (Stone, Marble, etc.)
Fishery
Mines (Copper, Gold, etc.)

Buildings that should be placed ADJACENT TO STORAGE FACILITY

Bakery
Coking Plant
Pine Sawmill
Well
Weaponsmith
Copper Smelters
Toolmakers
Breweries
Miller

Buildings that should be placed NEAR STORAGE FACILITY

Bowmaker
Hard Wood Sawmill

Buildings that should be placed IN OPEN SPACE (Away from resources if possible.)

Residences
Tavern
Provision's House
Barracks
Branch Office
Guild House
Wheatfield & Farm (Special case, situate them nearer to your storage facility when possible)

...Well...
Don't build Wells near storage, put them in the last cathegory. If you dont produce water fast enough, just build another well, they dont use building licences.
They do use up dudes though...

+1 to this. You have to have so many population for armies as you expand that a few extra settlers to compensate for wells being a few seconds further away from the storehouse really makes no difference at all.

do you break down fir wood cutters and rebuild them near another resource once they cut down all the trees in the nearby area?

No, you build forester's near te cutter's, sothat they replant trees.

Good guide, much simpler and less complicated without all the maths and sums that are involved, some players go to extreme and do time wasteing mathmatics.. but this sums it up quite simply. I already knew about the building efficencey but for people who arnt interested in doing math ''Which i dont blame you'' Two massive thumbs up!

LOL There's an option to place them away from resources? I know I'm splitting hairs, but it is funny....

True about the mines.
This does pertain to fishermen, masons, and hunters.
