connection failed

I'm at level 16 of the tutorial and now I can't connect to the game. I've conquerred sector 8 last night and this morning I wanted continuing to becoming level 17. But after log-in the game doesn't start; beta key is OK, I can get to the forum, I can read the home page, but connection to the game seems to be impossible. Haven't had in the three days before. Perhaps preventing me getting connected for 7 days ;)

The servers are down for maintenance. They will do that every thursday for a couple of hours.

I've similar problem. I cannot connect to game (lvl 16 tutorial). After I reload page server starts refuse my connections.

why not say something about it with an in game message the previous day or with the login page? I missed it on the forum to

The problem with the In-game message is that it will appear as a popup on the screens of those playing. It won't come up on all the people who aren't connected at that precise moment.

That's why we always post it on the forum, website, Facebook and Twitter the day before. If you are part of these I can only suggest "liking" or "following" ;)

It's the UK servers that are being updated Luffarkaka. Other servers, such as US etc, probably aren't being updated right now.

@BB_Azariel, maybe better solution is send message in game. Many people login direct via game URL (http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/play) and ignore news section.

I think a lot of people would also go "WTF" at the popup and insta close it, or have a popup blocker and such. :P

If you meant in-game mail, I suppose that can work but there are.. four places? To find it on.

Website, once that works. :p Twitter, Facebook, and the forums.

An alternative would be to have a static maintenance page replace www.thesettlersonline.com/en/play, having such information as;

that at the german server game.

they have the front page /news open with updates on how long they are in the update process, with time zones and notes on how it all goes.
So no i can not either see that page azariel. strange???

Else, I'm still clueless as to which one. Forgive me, I slept terrible.) always goes away in a few seconds for me at least. My login times for the game have so far been quite rapid. ^.^

If not that one, then I'll just shush and will try to find it once I'm in-game. ;)

We have asked BB to be able to change that but we have had no news about it for now as they are still fixing more important stuff. We hope to have it soon though.. even if we have no way of knowing when ^^"

and the ingame message system was only to FURTHER know the players of the maintenance today. Instead of all those spams with "connection fail"
once more HAAALLLLOOO. READ before you post people. the game is closed down these hours.
because yes, people is always (sorry to say) blind when it comes to news etc about a game. They dont read anything, jumb right in the game and act like all hell broke loose because the "for some strange stupid reason" cant get into the game.

But once more.... READ people, and most of your questions would be answered sooner than you could write a new post about it.

I've chacked the forum and all messages seem to relate to thursday but ive been unable to connect since then please can you advise

They are still having problems with the game. Their databases crashed yesterday and as I understand it they are running internal tests right now to see that everything is working as it should (wouldn't want another crash just as we all try to login again would we?). The game was online for almost two days after the Thursday maintenance but went down unexpectedly yesterday (without the maintenance screen at first, couldn't even connect to the login page) but hopefully we will be able to play again later today.

This is the forth time this has happened where I will lose most of a days play. Each time I do finally get on my wheat, water and mines are almost completely depleted.

It is not my service provider as your help area states because I am logged on. I just cannot get the game going.

If you're still experiencing connection issues, please empty your cache and cookies, check that Flash is up to date and then contact support if those don't work.
