It's probably because you have no settlers to operate these buildings or no marble deposit. Check if you have enough idle settlers and marble deposit, then relog. If the problem persist, submit a support ticket on the options menu in game.

What do you mean with a stone mine? A stone deposit or a stone mason? Multiple mason's can work on the same deposit.

i mean a stone deposit. I have 3 but it only appears (now) that 2 are being worked. Never see a settler working it

The quarries always work on the closest deposit. So if 2 quarries have the same deposit as closest, they both work at that one.

so what you are saying is that only the closest one is worked even if you have unemployed citizens and therefore it is a waste of resources to build more?

I do not understand your question.

Deposits do not need unemployed settlers.
It is useful to use your geologist to search for more deposits, because when one is empty, a new one will then be closest.
It is also useful to build more than 1 quarry close to the same deposit, because more than 1 quarry can work on the same deposit.

I have 3 stone deposits, 2 are next to each other and the third is a short distance from these 2. The 2 next to each other are being worked whereas the other one is not. Does this help?

The stonecutter goes from the storehouse to his mason (only one worker per mason), and from there to the nearest quarry (stone deposit).
It doesn't matter if several masons are nearby, they can all go to the same quarry (even if only one worker is shown cutting the stones).

Click on the mason to see the green little dots with flags. They will show you the worker's exact path, showing which quarry he is working at.

The more masons you have around one quarry, and the higher level those masons are, the faster the quarry will become exhausted.
When that happens, your stonecutters will be going to the next quarry, once again the nearest one still having stones left to be quarried.

If there are no quarries available that at that point haven't been exhausted,
then your stonecutters will stop working and their masons will get the exlamation mark saying they lack resources.

As soon as you've ordered your explorer to refind those now exhausted quarry, each stonecutter will once again find the nearest quarry.

I've got 2 Marble quarry's, but none of them are producing anything, the same number of marble available in the mines every day!
Do I need a special building or what? (maybe I missed something)
Got plenty of settlers, but no production!

Why is it, that I can't remove a Marble quarry, ones I build it?

You need a marble mason to mine marble.
