I've been playin' level 17 for 4 days now and cannot get to the next level. I've been fighting and winning, building and whatnot.

How darn hard is to move on from level 17 to 18??

I do have one question: The Production Time of the Stones is really... eally slow. I barly get something. My Overall production time is 6 minutes and the second one is 7 minutes.

What can I do?

Hi Torrgar,

At first it is very slow, but once you have developed your town and have 4/5 stone masons at level 3, then it will go much faster.

I can see the worker going around and working, but there are no new trees like in any other The Settlers game. Its a bug or I just doing something wrong?

Make sure you have the ratio correct : 3 foresters for 2 woodcutters.

You need to build a decent army first before trying to attack bandit camps. The rule of thumb for attacking easy bandit camps is that you have more than 50% what they have. You can read more about the battle system here: http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/15301-G-Few-words-on-combat-system

Its quite a simple task and can be seen as somewhat lazy tbh but i prefer the shortcut lol.

Should this mean that I get 3 settlers per 15 minutes as I am only getting 2 - increase by 100% would give me 2 so 200% should give me 3 but it's not - If it only gives you two maybe the wording should be changed to say doubles the increase for 12 hours?

Whilst I agree that the use of pecentages can be confusing at times, the tooltip is correct.
If you use a calculator, such as the one built into windows, and input 1x200% the answer is 2.

I do agree that the use of "double" and "triple" would be less confusing.

You get 1 extra settler every 15 minutes. Untill you reach the maximum. You can also create some in the Provisions House with bread.

You get more building licenses by conquering sectors in your start island. You can buy some with gems (you should save all your gems for that, unless you spend cash to buy gems). And once from leveling up (i think it was level 32) you also get 10 extra licenses.

I'm new to the game, played for about a week and am now level 18. I know not spectacular but I do have a life ;)
Is there any way to monitor the production capacity of my kingdom, in other words how much resources I'm using/creating per hour? I'm able to keep production times low by putting factories near storehouses and workyards inbetween deposits and storehouses. These numbers should help me balance supply and demand but right now I'm flying blind basically.

All the guides recommend the use of cavalry for both sectors.
If I recall from experience, sending 200 recruits against Metal Tooth will result in all recruits being killed by Metal Tooth himself.

You need use the provisions house, under the Deposits tab, you need to make some fish food using bread - 10 bread = 100 fish. Apply this to the 0 fish area you want to fill and it will refill with fish for you. If you make 200 fish food it will refill with 200 fish for you.

the tooltip is NOT correct. an INCREASE by 200% would mean an extra 200% of the existing. if existing rate is 1, 200% of that is 2. That would mean 1+2=3.
What the tooltip means is either "INCREASES population by 100%" or "GIVES 200% of normal population increase".

You need to put down a storeroom in a new sector to claim it, then you can build other buildings in it too.

mr_murkus, the only reason i can think of is that your friend also killed a camp in another zone.

this is not possible on the "northisle". The next zones are blocked by 1 or 2 camps each. all of those are still there.

Your buildings do not need hammers for them to work. What you are probably facing is low population resulting in a lack of workers.

To know for sure - if you click on the building, the info box will show up and should highlight what is missing? The settler or the Bronze bar will have a red background and a red exclamation next to it - you will know for sure then what you are lacking?

I need some help with the beer quest... I have plenty of building licenses available, and can build the wheat field and the brewery, but I'm not able to build the farm or the well. I also have all the resources needed.

When I select those two items to build, they don't show up on the map as I move the cursor around but I do have the cancel action option at the top of the screen.

Im guessing that You didn't leveled as You should, but it's just a little bug, You just have to refresh page, and then it should be fine.

You mean sure the "Riding Amazonian" http://www.siedlertools.de/w/images/c/c6/Berittene_Amazone.gif from the adventure horseback.

"Riding Amazonian" makes damage between 40-60 to each of your troops and first strike.
Recruits have 40 HP (Hitpoints) and milita 60HP

Okay now the "harder part" ;)
The 40 "Riding Amazonian" attacks first of course. Every "Riding Amazonian" makes now to each of your R or M between 40-60 damage and reduce the HP. That means 40x attacks on your R (thats why you lose max 40R) and each R lose min 40HP each attack. R has only 40HP so they dies all. M has 60HP and get also between 40-60 damage each attack. Thats the reason why some M stay a live :) not much of course... because "Riding Amazonian" have a Hit percentage from 90%. Riding Amazonian have only 20HP, so the rest of your 200 troops (around 160R) kill then all of them easily. And thats also the reason why you have the same losses with 40R 160S or 40R 160M or 200R ;)

BTW ... what i not understand is the fact... that you could skip the camp there *hrhrhr* so why in hell you wana fight against that camp or now that? ;)

You can trade adventures with people in your friends/guild list. So if you want to trade it with someone you dont know, you first have to add them to your friends list. If you trade with someone via the trade option in the friend/guild list, then you get a new tab for adventures.

It's easy to do multiplayer adventures alone. But it is a waste of the rewards.

roads dont do anything, its just to make it look a bit better.
in the offline settlers you indeed needed roads to make shortcuts etc, tho thats not in the online settlers.

By the time I rack up enough materials to build a coinage in level 23, the gold mine is empty and I need most of the raw materials to build a new gold mine.
So is there a way of keeping the old mine by refilling it?

You can refill a mine with store bought items.

And that is not really worth it, unless you buy gems, and even then only for gold mines, unless you buy a lot of gems.

i understand you maths there sid and thanks for your reply but it only makes the point that this game favours recuits above other units even more. I dont skip any camps because i like to kill all camps for the exp. Please don't tell me you get the exp for the camp even if you dont attack it, because that would be the stupidest thing ever :)

Depends what you mean by experience.
If you refer to the experience as a score required to level up, then yes, you get all the experience from the skipped camps when you kill the leader.
If you refer to the experience as a mental experience, you only get by actually doing the battles.

Most people just want the best score for the minimum input and don't actually care for anything else.

When I received the quest reward of hardwood and marble I set a storehouse to upgrade BEFORE the next quest appeared which was to upgrade a building....now the game does not recognized that the quest has been completed and I can't advance. Sent a support request Sat. but haven't heard back and I'm stuck on lvl 14 with no way to advance.

I really enjoy playing the game but im quite baffled by the draconian approach on the "English Only" for the chat....What is there to be afraid about if someone says something in a different language? What exactly are the moderators trying to prevent by banning other languages? I really do not get it. Secondly, why is there a permanent ban if someone commits the chat equivalent of genocide and posts in a foreing language? PERMANENT BAN? Why not a nuclear missile sent over to their house for good measure? I think a couple of days ban would suffice if there has to be a ban. If anything u are turning people away from the game.

Kirushka10, the goal is the same as all MMO games. Advance and compete with other players. At the moment the game is in Beta and alot of functions/additions are yet to come. So were more or less stuck in a Real time economy Sim :) but eventually it will become a proper RTS game.

I've searched the forum, but couldn't find anything on upgrade times. I've noticed that everytime you upgrade the ugrade time increase 24 times. Does that mean that it takes 24 days to upgrade to level 5????? That hardly seems worth the effort.

If you look ingame you will find a green bar under your avatar. If you mouseover it you will see how much XP you have now and how much you need till next level. After each battle you can check how much your XP increased.

You might be right about that 5 weeks don't seem that long when you have been playing 5 months, but that doesn't change the fact that with level 4 and 5 upgrades you have spent 25% of that time recovering from your losses.

You have a lot of iron smelters?

Buffing the mines means they produce twice as much ore, not that the mines run out more quickly.

Upgrading the mines means that they run out more quickly, but produce the same amount of ore.

I just started playing today and jumped at it as it was an offline strategy (meaning - I built 4 forresters as soon as I got them available, couple of miners, 2 fishermen). So, my resources are depleeted, and I'm only in the tutorial stage. Any way to reset, start anew (and lose all the "progress" I made so far) or do I just have to wait for my resources to accumulate?

EDIT: Found an answer to this one, it's a no. Can't even start over with a fresh account. However it brought me to another question: Same IP's (or even the same computer), 2 different people, 2 different accounts, will I get banned when my boyfriend visits?

You get map fragments sometimes when your explorer search for adventures. Easter eggs, pumpkins and presents come from events like the upcoming easter event.

During the game there are many hints, tips and links put up by other players that I need to have pen and paper ready to note down, and a calculator to work out exchange rates, battle plans & Etc.. I have no idea how difficult it would be, but it would be very handy to have a notepad or file where we could copy/paste things too and possibly with a calculator incorporated. At the moment I have stuff copied onto my computer but I usually have that many tabs open at the top that it becomes difficult to find anything. It's a good game and getting better so keep going guys, and thanks for all the fish.

A general will not die, he will be recovering for 4 hours. (2 hours if Battle Hardend) Your army will be lost.

Hi everyone, I just started playing this great game but I' am stuck with the adventure from the tutorial, Paper chase Stage1.

"You can start the adventure by clicking on it. Just go to the coordinates and gather all Easter eggs" - this is not very clear to me. What exactly should I do?

I tried to send the explorer in a mission for finding treasure. Is is the correct solution? It has 6h until he finish the task but I' am not sure this is how the adventure is being resolved.

Can anyone tell me why the Fragment Costs for Adventures has been Hiked up so high now please. The cost is now counter intuitive - My explorer finds 3 map fragments for each search so 34 searches to get 100 fragments for the cheapest adventure - thats 340Gold coins and 1700 sausages to get the cheapest adventure. Adventures used to cost so much less that new players are now at a huge disadvantage!

Indeed they gave me a ticket number, but it appeared to me that this is automatically generated. Tonight it is the 3rd day, i can't get in the game. The login seems very stable these days. It can be hard to login from time to time, but most of the time it's fine. What kind of issues are you experiencing? Have you contacted support about it?

Double check your first zone, maybe you're mistaking it for a stone deposit. It really should be there.
good news, three of my stone deposits were depleted and after tearing down the masons I sent the Gemologist to look for a marble deposit and... sure enough 30 minutes later he found one - one of those three depleted stone deposits- amazing isn't it?
