Not all camps have to be beaten to finish of a sector, as long as you kill the 'leader' camp.

In sector 6/Chuck - I tried to be clever (note to self - do not try to be clever).

I positioned garrison at the far right of S3/Bottom right, and that made me believe that I had a clear path to Chuck through the little gap in the mountains.

Wrong (for me, at least) - there are 2 bandit camps next to Chuck, the camp to the upper left has influence on Chuck's camp - where a 110 of my cavalry died. I'd rather have lost a bunch of recruits (which I also did loose some of, just a bit later).

So if you - like me, are trying to be clever; send your general out with a lonely recruit and make note of the path. If he get's intercepted - don't waste your 'expensive' guys; send the cannon fodder and save the cavalry for Chuck

I did beat Chuck in the end, though:-)

PS I know that I 'lost' out on the loot by bypassing camps. So far my 'losses' have always been greater than the 'loot'. If you've been lucky enough to experience otherwise - good for you:-) DS

But surely you're also missing out on the XP by bypassing the camps?

looosy, you will get the exp from the camps you left on the sector, just not the loot from them.

I did read your guide:-)

It looked to me like you approached from Sector8/Metal Tooth, and he is still on my map... So I approached from Sector3, through a gap in the mountains, and the 'regular' bandit camp that you took out, influences Chuck's camp. When clicking on that camps 'influence' area it looks as if you can clear Chuck, without clearing this camp first.

Which I found out that you cannot...

Oh well, live and learn - and wait for horse production...

... if your trying something new or dangerous like that watch your general very closely and if he is about to go into an enemy camp click retreat very quickly :)

What was the combination of troops used to beat Chuck. I attempted 200 Militia against 1 Chuck + 100 Roughnecks and lost but almost killed Chuck so that was 200 troops down the drain :-(
