New settlers

I think you need to lower how much time it takes for a new settler to be made.I say this because when you have a battle and you lose a lot of members from your army it take far to long to re build that army back up.

You can "bake" settlers in the provision house with using bread, so there is no problem to get enough settlers in a shot period of time.

There are other ways to speed up the production of Settlers and troops, but it does require a few gems.
If the free-to-play version was as quick as you suggest, then people wouldn't support BlueByte and buy the gems.
It's all about keeping that balance and tempting you into buying gems. They are a business after all.
