View Full Version : General and army died, - but the attacked the wrong village. ?
tutorial mode, have built my first general and his tutorial army of 5 recuits. (which i stationed in the garrison with two additional recuits)
therefore an army of 7 and a general.
- the tutorial tells me im to rid the area of bandits, so i look at the villages in the non-foged - ie explored sectors and theres an 'easy' village of 6 scavengers. - i presume that the diffence in accracy of attacks is in my favour and i send out the general and army to do what it was built for.
.....except (and this is why this is in the bug forum) .....that the general moves 3 spaces towards the village, but then gos up towards a bandit village in an unxplored - ie still fogged sector.
- he attacks, and in the resulting battle report shows that hes attacked a village of 10 scavengers. !!! and unsuprisingly, they all die and lose.
------------------------
now the problem is i cant rebuild a general as the gold was givern to me as part of the tutorial. .... ?
and i couldnt even click to attack the fogged up village let alone seen what was inside it. so why is my general heading that way in the first place. !!!!
the village i clicked was 8 moves away, the village he attacked was 4-5 moves away and on the other side of of a red sector marker line and still fogged over.
:CCCCC
WTH happened ?
I have had this happen on both the test and the live game servers, you take the camp out with 3 troops in it,then there are 2 tents on the right,in another sector,so move the garrison close to your borders and have him attack the first of the 2 tents to find if you watch he starts to head for the tent you want him to attack he then goes North to a camp with far more in it than the one you directed him to,guessing this is the one you mean??
Your General isnt dead he will heal over 4 hours
Thankyou pennyuk, the ingame help chat peoples managed to point me in the right direction the next day as to where my 'dead' general had gone.
hes now back in charge of a growing - 'recuit' army. and iv taken the offline time to have my explorer check out the fogged over sector.
my original path to get to the above point was this....
tutorial explains the explorer and gets me to send him to check out a 'sector'
ill call my home sector 1.1, and the sector directly above that he explores with the new mountains and ore that the geogogist has to searh for
tutorial tells me to claim it with a storehouse.
tutorial then goes on to tell me to build ore mines and smelting funtions etc....
whilst waiting for the tutorial buildings to kick in, - i add in more stone masons, fir tree cutters whatever i feel is running low or to compensate for the long travel distances that iv ended up with in placeing the original tutorial quest buildings......afterall the geoglogist seemed a little random in his stone mine 'findings'
anyways, to cut the story short, by the time the barracks was built and the garrison placed, it was placed near to bandit villages that i could see in the second sector that the explorer had maped out for me. - (i used him to look for treasure whilst i was offline, rather than map the whole island and not be able to do anything with it!)
soooo
when the tutorial told me to attack a village, it was one in the second sector that i went for.
Panny worte :-
[you] move the garrison close to your borders and have him attack the first of the 2 tents to find if you watch he starts to head for the tent you want him to attack he then goes North to a camp with far more in it than the one you directed him to,guessing this is the one you mean??
thats exactly the village i mean, and exactly what happened..... :D

ah, but this is where we could have a problem..... the tutorial dosnt ask us to explore more sectors than the original one to find copper ore, therefore the whole of the map is supposed to still be in fog. THERFORE, when i was looking for the target village for the tutorial, the village with 3 scavengers in it was still in a fogged over location.!!! (sector 2.2 - to right of ore-sector 2.1)
so the only choice i had was what i had got my explorer to look for whilst i was offline. - which would have been sector 1.2 - next to my start sector 1.1)
this is where the general was sent, and this is where we both found that he entered the attack area of a different village and went NORTH as you said before.
>result, i could see where he was going, - and he took on a village of 10 scavengers useing 7 recuits when he was supposed to go for (ideally, that 3 scavenger village in the fogged over sector 2.2)
lol
as it happens, the 3 scavenger/bandit village is only 3 moves away from my barracks so ill be heading there directly after i mop up whats left of the village that the general tried his luck with in the first place.
..............just could have gone a little more smoothly is all im saying. :D
===============================
note, iv labbled the sectors as 1.1 for home and 2.1 for the line above and so on, so that you can follow which sector is which in my ramblings above.
