wheat fields and building licences

i have a question regarding the fact that it seems to me a field does not take up a licence space but a few together do.
the question is: how many fields take up 1 licence?

fields dont use lisences. Multiple fields together wont take up a lisence either.
your lisence is most likely used by something else, or diplay of left lisences is bugged (a bug that most of the times gets fixed by relogging)
