View Full Version : Unable to play the game after hitting play button

So the server started hacking so I tried a reload, graphics wont load. I emptied cache and cookies and all that. Tried again. Nothing.
So cant very well contact support. Hence this thread:

Problems with servers perhaps?:confused: Was mid-adventure when it started about 15minutes ago. (Local time is 19:32 Sunday the 8th of April)
Tried several times to get into the game but the graphics simply wont load. I see the borderlines of my island and then nothing more happens. Its all blue with a huge white pre-graphics state.

I'm also experiencing this problem, however the game just won't load up, it gets stuck on the loading screen

I have wiped my browsing history and cookies and the loading screen just sits at a set progress position and doesn't load.

I have the same issue, ive tried on 2 different computers and 2 different browsers on each PC but the game wont load. Ive reset all the settings in the browser and this has made no difference either, its been this way since yesterday afternoon.

Same here! When I click on the play button it will not load game, sometimes it tries, but fails!

On my notebook I can't even load the homepage anymore after a security scare yesterday. on my phone I can load but it only loads sometimes and will generally only work for 5 mins before it requires refreshing. All other pages load unless it has a settlers page address including the forum. Clearing all of my temporary internet files does not change the result. Completely lost for how else to fix the problem.

Contact support! (Load the homepage instead of the game) and submit the issue there instead.
If you cant find your own way there i even supply a direct link to the needed sub page.

My pc won't load the homepage or the forum etc. have to use my phone. thanks for the link though.

Sounds like you need to allow the homepage in some sort of security function. I'd suggest disabling firewalls etc, but.. i'd not want to be the reason you get infested by viruses etc.. so thats entirely up to you!

if it was anything to do with our computers then it simply amazes me that all the people in this thread, had exactly the same issue start at the same time.

I was playing np, I log off for ten minutes to sort something..try to log back in and this happens....this isn't our end otherwise it wouldn't have started to so many people at the same time

Ataxia; i understand that my last response might fit into the category of "Working as intended".. but it was aimed at Deeds issue with the homepage, sorry for not clarifying that directly..

However, ALOT of other players don't have this issue, which leads most of us to assume that it's a somewhat player localized issue..
But then again, having the same issue with other browsers and/or computers does suggest that it's a profile error that support needs to handle.

So, yet again.. Contact support :) (and if you can reach the forum you can contact support just as easily)
The issue itself is not related to the forum because we cant offer more than the 'clear your cache' type of suggestions.

Feel free to lock down the thread at your leisure. Moderators.

I've got the same problem xD

I haven't been able to get on since yesterday..
Its been working fine for the past 2 weeks, and now it just doesn't load the game.

I can only get into the game after several refreshes, where the progress bar gets a bit further each time. For a long time, I could not see the quantity of what is in my mines or fields. Everything is slowed and unresponsive. I can't put the goods I found with my explorers into the manor house, so they are waiting in star menu. These problems are all taking place at home on using my home broadband. However this afternoon, I took laptop into work and used my phone to create a mobile hotspot for wifi and was able to play the game as normal. This only started last night (Sunday 8th April).

I've been trying all day on/off from both Firefox and Internet Explorer and it's not working for me either. It was working fine yesterday and I've not changed any of my settings.

It goes to the cyan color screen for me, sticks there for awhile and if you leave it long enough it will go through the loading bar on the beta screen but sticks filling that up around 1/2 way.

I have had the same problem for about the past 32 hours (never had it before)
But, I think for some reason its browser related, as both Firefox and Opera stopped working yesterda.
But IE is still opening the game as normal. (just thought of noting this to the community)

Forum assistance will not resolve this issue for you because the width of our collective knowledge ends at Clear your cache and try again.

I can get the game to run in internet explorer, but seems to take an eternity when using mozilla. When the game eventually does load up it has allsorts of problems, unable to move generals, building graphics corrupted and a whole lot more.

same problem. things i've tried which haven't worked:

cleared cache, cleared history, cleared everything else, changed browsers (IE, firefox, chrome), download and reinstalled updated versions of all browsers, downloaded and reinstalled updated flash, contacted support.

support won't be online until another half an hour, see what happens then i guess.

I also had this problem this morning - but I have managed to get into game, now...

I did disable the built in flash-player in Chrome, it might just be a co-incidence that game now works, but it might be worth trying

Earlier I could not get game to work in Safari,FFox or Chrome (I'm on a Mac - this was suggested as a solution for Flash issues in Windows). It now works in all 3.

If you think the built-in flash in Chrome can be the cause as it may conflict with flash in your operating system, try the following.

In the address line in Chrome type about:/plugins

Click on Details to expand the view

If your Flash shows 2, disable the one that that shows as being part of Google Chrome.

Might be worth a try...

am trying to send a ticket but the link is not working as it should. it only redirect at the "Help and support FAQ" even when i go in "technical FAQ" and press contact support it brings me back to the same general FAQ !?! i cant submit the ticket at all...
there is clearly something BIG wrong not being able to load the game nor contact support.

I tried also going down the route of tickets but it stated I needed to verify my account before I could raise a ticket. I've tried on numerous occasions to do this process and it's never sent me the email but I've ignored it because I could always play the game and post on the forum. I've sent account support an email this morning about the issues I'm having and they've raised the ticket for me.

yeah, so support emailed me back.....

"clear the cache and temp files" was all they could suggest :s


EDIT: just to add, i have been able to log on by repeatedly hitting the refresh button. took god knows how many times though

Same here.

Cannot login on my account on multiple browsers. Things started with broken icons in-game and the message I "had to clear my cache". After doing that, I could not login the game anymore. Great tip ;-)

Some people @ BB need to WAKE UP! and place a support message somewhere with instructions/notifications/warning.

Login is broken for large amounts of people, simple.

As you can see, I'm new to the online game. So excited to have found this game only I can't play on it! Exact same problem, and extremely disappointed that this is taking so long to fix...

Hi guys also suffering with loading problems, have found whilst using chrome every time the load process halts just refresh page. Normally after 5 or 6 refreshes i get into game. Might be coincidental but it works for me, i'm assuming its a server problem caused by its own success.

I'm still stuck not being able to play, which is kinda annoying considering the easter event starts tomorrow :(

I've not had any feedback from my ticket as yet so guess they're still working on it. I've tried running this now on Firefox 11.0 (including with the addons disabled), IE9 and Google Chrome 18.0.1025.152 and all stick at the same point. I start off on the blue loading screen, sometimes the bar is there, sometimes it isn't and it can spend ages here. Eventually it'll go to the beta screen with the multi-coloured progress bar and will hang here at various points across the bar. I've left it for ages and it doesn't ever go into the game.

Other than clear history / cache (which I've done countless times) does anyone have a solution that works ?

As of the easter update I can now reconnect to the game so looks like BB have sorted something out.

Hey Blaez, try clearing your cache, also if that doesn't work try another browser to see if that helps

If still no luck please let us know if you're getting any error messages or any other information you feel might help us
