Friary takes one square instead of square and a half like watermill

I see that friary takes only one square (when building) and the rest of the building can be built on another building. It should be like the watermill at least that's what I think. Anyone else noticed?

Yes, I noticed. While building the Friary I could build a wheatfield right of it and now the friary stands in the field :)

Since you already have a Friary, can you please tell me what else it requires to run, such as wheat, water. etc?

At lvl 3 unbuffed consume 12 wheat 24 water to produce 12 beer every 6 and half mins.
