View Full Version : please consider carefully the consequences of the new pathfinding

Hi there,

I have been testing (tso) the new features and found discouraging consequences with the new pathfinding scheme.
Having tried 'outlaws' I found out that the intercept areas do not work the same way as before i.e. the general gets intercepted by camps that would not and viceversa.

More importantly, none of the blocks make a lick of a sense any more - and I refer to the 1 block (leave alone the 2 or 3 blocks).

And last but not least, I succeeded in one block, the general went into the leader camp. IT DID NOT COME OUT as a retiming cycle would make it do for me to be able to retreat it, just found it 4 minutes later fighting in the blocked camp. For a while selecting its garrison showed the crossed swords on the leader camp then it moved to the intercepting one.

The fallout of this new scheme is the fact that all posts with blocking schemes will become useless and misleading. I am sure new schemes may be found. On the other hand try to contemplate the game/forum environment when all posts containing blocks need revising.

I ask of you to start testing to verify my findings and contemplate the outcome of the new pathfinding scheme. Oh, start complaining in advance if you find it unpalatable.
