" Pan European Game Information (PEGI) is a European video game content rating system established to help European consumers make informed decisions on buying computer games with logos on games boxes. It was developed by the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) and came into use in April 2003; it replaced many national age rating systems with a single European system. The PEGI system is now used in more than thirty countries and is based on a code of conduct, a set of rules to which every publisher using the PEGI system is contractually committed. PEGI self-regulation is composed by five age categories and eight content descriptors that advise the suitability and content of a game for a certain age range based on the games content.[1] The age rating does not indicate the difficulty of the game or the skill required to play it.[2]
As of December 2011, PEGI has rated more than 18,000 games.[3] 50% of the games were rated 3, 10% were rated 7, 24% were rated 12, 12% were rated 16 and only 4% were 18.[4] On 10 May 2012, it was announced by the UK's Department of Culture, Media and Sport that it had initiated the Parliamentary process to have PEGI as the sole system for the age classification of video games in the UK. In a matter of months, when the law comes into effect, games will no longer have to be rated separately by the BBFC.[5] PEGI ratings are also found on some French language-video games outside Europe, specifically Canada. "

This is not Valid in Other countries. My 5 year old is taught about sex in school and how to recognize when someone is making an advance towards them and who to report it to.... when I asked this question Mod Estelle banned me.

Shouldn't You also enact to other Standards or are you intending on making your game only playable to countries which have Pegi 7 as their guidelines? Cause if so you also to have to ensure you are adhering to that countries by laws, if not you are breaking said countries law by revoking freedom of speech ( Although certain forms of speech is criminal unless it falls within these lines your mods can't chat ban for it ) with chat bans for asking questions can be punishable.

" 7: Suitable for ages 7 and older. May contain mild, cartoon-style violence, sports, or elements that can be frightening to younger children. Similar to BBFC's PG rating and ESRB's Everyone (high end) and Everyone 10+ rating (low end) ratings. "

By the age of 10 in today's world most kids are having sex. Disgusting I know but that is fact... Hence why is chat banning for asking a Q about that fact allowed? No details were brought up... Just that question asked.... Actually question was

Why is sex a toboo topic since this is PG 7 or equiv and my 5 year old is taught about sex in school making sex a known subject to kids where I am 5 and up.... Meaning sex is not taboo as they are taught all about it at a young age :/

" Where PEGI is used

PEGI is used in 31 European countries, Canada and Israel. The ratings system is partially recognised in other countries such as the United Arab Emirates[18], South Africa and South Asia since they are considered official PAL regions, although they may import games from regions outside of PEGI's jurisdictions. PAL games officially released in Australia are usually rated by the ACB. Legally enforceable means the ratings are not simply "voluntary" or "advisory" but are enforced by some kind of local regulation or law. ESRB is the primary rating system in Canada, while some French-language products, mainly in Quebec, carry a PEGI label.

UK And Europe... only Canada outside of the UK And Europe recognize this? How does this relate to international users not in a Pegi Zone?

Punishing international users who do not have Pegi in their zone is kinda BS... And not once there does it state what pegi 7 is... it speculates towards GAME and game play... Not chat or topics or anything of the sort

And as the closest most countries have is the PG rating then I ask why a parent is Allowing their 7 year old to spend even 10 mins on an online game when even facebook does not allow those under 12 I think from last check to use it's network?

Are you pitching this as a Kids game? Or as a online game for adults and teens? Although I Agree certain topics should not be allowed censorship of things that even 5 year olds are taught ALL about is completely against freedom of speech act set down by UN I think? An Actual body and law....
Ad Also almost ALL the countries who do follow the pegi system do not even have a LAW regarding this... And it seems to only refer to game labelling and game content not chat? Chat is not game content.... It is user content.... Not once on the pegi site does it even hint or refer to people chatting... it only refers to game content ( AKA graphics, game play and content ) So how can a systemt devised purely for game content for only a handful of Countries be expected to be recognised internationally by users around the world? Surely you will adhere to common practices and not a little known ( Hell until I looked it up I had never heard about it ) NON LEGAL guideline... Cause that is EXACTLY what it is... a GUIDELINE

BlueByte can set whatever rules and restrictions they choose. Freedom of Speech doesn't exist.

I don't see any problem. It's their game and their rules.

If you went to a different country, you have to follow that countries rules. It's no different in the gaming world, you follow the rules of the game.

Don't confuse freedom of speech with rules of the house. You are not being prevented from writing or saying what you think in other places e.g. another website. Therefore your freedom of speech is not being revoked.

However, in the chat channels, which I think is what you are talking about, the site have every right to exercise whatever rules they deem fit.

Imagine you don a pair of sandals, a pair of Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt. You are dressing perfectly legally (in England at least). But try getting a table in the finest restaurant at the Ritz Hotel in London and you'll most likely be refused. It's their restaurant and their rules.

I can understand the mods hard line on the chat channels. The chat tool is quite limited and if they allow it to be used off-purpose then it would become very difficult to follow and also moderate. Better to keep it focused. Mods have a tough job imo.

As for your point about use in other countries, I can only imagine it's a legal minefield and therefore Bluebyte have to tread very carefully. Also the game is still in Beta so maybe they will extend later.

Just because I disagree with you, does not make me a Troll.

The rules are not up for discussion.

No. What makes you a troll is you do not post anything to do with the topic. You just suck up so once again for the serial troll

WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT ASKING A QUESTION ABOUT SEX AND PEGI IS AGAINST THE RULES

Oh... And Isn't trolling against Forum rules? Tierarzt...

If you can't follow simple rules, then we (the other players) don't want you here either!

In answer to both of the above:
This is not the place to discuss the rules of the game.

I Like your Example with dress codes.... But it does not relate nor is it law.... If Blue byte choose to block Any country from playing that does not support the Pegi system then so be it... But as it is playable in almost every country in the world instead of it being a 5* formal dress code restaurant it is a McDonalds since anything goes XD

But still PLEASE SOMEONE Point out where it says in the RULES AND CODE OF CONDUCT / ToS That a Q About sex and Pegi will result in chat ban?In my country (UK), if you started talking openly in the middle of the street about sex then you'd probably be arrested. I'm not a legal guy but maybe breach of the peace might be the offence. The point is, while talking about sex in the pub with your mates is fine, it is generally considered inappropriate in a public general audience - at least in the UK. Personally I wouldn't want sexual to be an available topic in areas such as here.

In the UK we are a bit prudish whereas other nations are more liberal. And I guess it depends on where your moral compass points on this. But I think BB are doing the right thing by taking the hard line approach thus avoiding offence in any nation.

Like I said in chat too, catching and killing animals is a taboo subject, yet there are 2 buildings in game (Hunters and Butchers) that promote exactly that.

Send a complaint to support. If it's the same MOD/MODs being unjustly power crazed the community needs to report them.

A Game that is Available in Many countries has to adhere to each individual contries laws regarding online use. Any infringement can be construed as criminal and cause the game to be sued, the owners sent to trial or the Games / websites URL / IP / blocked from that country.

Nope a games owner adheres to the laws of its based HQ, and the same for us, we are bound to its HQ countries laws for prosecution..

adhering to each countries laws, what a pickle that'd be..

CB-2, If I had a youngster playing this game.. I wouldn't want them taking advice or having discussions about sex with grown men/women outside of an educational institute. This is exactly how naive kids get groomed, next thing you know their meeting up. The less talk about sex from strange unknown people on the internet the better.

In fact, you are quite suspect for wanting to discuss it on a PEGI-7 game.

I don't see a single sentence in your post that has correct grammar or punctuation I'm afraid.
