I need a bit of a direction

Hello guys and gals, I am writing here to ask for a bit of advice.

I am currently level 29, cleared every sector except for upper and upper-right parts of the island. The question is if I should carry on with conquering the space left or earn XP with adventures? Also, is buying second geologist a good idea?

as for the sectors: Both them and adventures provide XP, but the sectors have lsence to give and room/resources.
