View Full Version : I'm going to cut you a little slack - yes you're right I've taken a day off and ...

... joined in with the human race.

Today I've stepped down from my plateau, which I hasten to add I built all by myself. I had started off with a vision of building a pulpit, but as my project progressed I found my vision shrinking under the weight of my own sweat and investment. The latter always seems to blight the former. I have yet to work out why.

Coming down wasn't as physically hard as it was getting up there. It did seem to take a chunk out of my pride though. I hadn't anticipated that.

When I first envisaged my pulpit I also considered my sermons. It was a logical extension. I'd very sneakily thought I could involve modern video cameras too. They would cast me into Warholes quarter of an hour. And I so needed that attention. I yearned for it with every fibre of my personality, with every moment of my being, I needed it.

And here I am many years later ... climbing down from a vision that was never to be ... a carrot.

My pulpit never got built and my sermons never got told ... which is the only good thing about my story.

Helloooo Dopey,

You cut me up buddy. I wish I could deliver one line put downs like that. It would certainly help me with my self esteem. If I was able to deliver such witty knock out blows I'd feel more secure about myself. But alas I am not worthy and I can only aspire to reaching such heights.

The worst part about it is that my school report is littered with comments like this

"Does not engage in intelligent response"
"Is more likely to ignore than reply"
"Is a complete waste of precious space - the broom closet contains more tangible intelligence"

I failed to listen and since have been nothing but that proverbial spot on the pigs bottom.

Hey ho - ever onwards and ever upwards.

I agree with your "school report" especially the first comment

Unlucky I'm so grateful that you found the time to reply to me.

I think that your reply has been the brightest point of my week ... before which I really thought the fall of the Euro and the loss of Bob at Barclays was all the week had to offer .. then along you came and offered such genuine warm hearted and sincere comments ... made my day.

Tummy Nut :-)

PS here's a small thought - there were more planck moments in the first second of the universe than there have been seconds since
