Hi guys,

I made a tactical map for the adventure Horseback.
U need atleast 2 generals to be able to follow this tactical map, it uses 3 blocks.

I hope u guys like it as much as i do.

Mega size: click here. (http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/5922/horsebackz.jpg)

How to block in this guide:
Maikeldep was kind enough to record the blocks for us.
You wil find his movie here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8IYwkzyisU), it let you see how the blocking is done.

Units needed:
429 R, 90 B, 83 S, 69 LB.

Units lost:
Max: 429 R, 90 B.
Min: 334 R, 90 B.
______________
Avg: 382 R, 90 B

Fast playstyle tip:
- Take the double amount of soldiers with u to speed things up.
- Fastest way is with 5 generals. (Yes 4 is enough to bring all the needed troops to the adventure)
but there is also a way back and fast positioning, 3 of your generals will get a cooldown,
so they cant take your troops back home.

Reward list:

That map is done with a Veteran general. This map uses the normal "200" generals.

how do you reach from landing point to the left side (the starting point of attack?)

Hit the transfer button and move to the green shaded area. You don't get attacked while transferring.

P.S Thanks for the maps. :)

As Bob said, u can transfer a general without getting intercepted by bandit camps.

Update:
I have added this info on the map so everyone knows it.

Have fun with it,
Cotax

Good work Cotax! Really good! I need only a confirmation. During the blocks, the moment in which i can send the second general is when the first general reaches the position portrayed, right? Thanks! :)

Yes, the "green" general is the one doing the attack, the "orange" general makes the block. So when the "orange" general is at the block location (the horse) then u send the "green" general to the next camp.

Thanks for nice and clear tactical map. In the middle of Horseback adventure atm. everything works as you described.
added : Except 2nd block didnt worked for me for some reason. Got intercepted on the way to 6th camp, not a big deal, just lost 20 or 30 R's.

I have found the problem, it was in the number rotation, have fixed it and also made a new unit layout.
Now u need alot less soldiers and Longbowmans.

Hope it helps,
Cotax

Great guide Cotax , I found out you can save a few more recruits to, on camp 8 by sending 48R 69LB 83S min losses 31R max 38R

Hi Cotax,

Great guide! Just found that if you send at camp 6, 22M and 17S instead of 1R , you could change the block from type 1 to type 2 and save your general, because general at camp 6 needs 4,25 rounds to finish battle and general at camp 7 only 2 rounds! I tested it 4 times with total success :)

If you prefer round blocks, try this (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/16332-Killste-Collected-Adventure-Guides-by-Various-Authors?p=194033&viewfull=1#post194033). :)

its is possible in so many ways, in this case u need to bring extra millita with you. so the needs will go up, this is not something i am after.

Thanks for the reaction i am sure that people will use your info if they like it, but its not enough for me to change the settings.

22M 17S isn't the only way to round block camp 6...
I'm using 31S 1C in my guide... just one extra pony to bring along in that case. :)

While I appreciate the work, I have one small gripe with the title of this thread: 'triple block' suggests that three camps are blocked simultaneously (in the same fight). Therefore, I suspect many people will thing, upon reading the title, that there is some radically new trick involved. (while there isn't, it's just a thorough revision based on normal generals). Better call it 'three blocks' :D

Hey,

I know what u mean ;), i did change the title the same day that i made the guide, but the forum doesn't change it so i can't do anything about it.
(u can see/read it at the first post, the title is in there and it says with 3 blocks ;))

I don't really know how those blocks function and the link you've posted didn't work, sadly.

So I must just get to know what to do? If you can just describe the first block for me I would be greatefull probably it will make me understand... How do you move your general to that spot, as it is enemy area? And when to send off your second general to attack, while the first one is blocking? As I've understood it, you have got a very limited time to attack...

This has been a great help for a tricky map.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together and share it with us Cotax.

You can move your generals garrison position by clicking him and using the transfer option. While transferring he will not be attacked.

Once your generals are in place you can set up the blocks.

The 1st block you will need to do is camp 3 so clear camps 1 and 2 in the normal way with the suggested troops.
After that send a 1rec general to camp 3 from the orange blocking camp.
Check the tactical map for the positions of your garrisons.
If you look closely at the map you will see a general on his horse with a red line through him. He will be along the orange line connecting your blocking garrison to camp 3. This is the time to send your 2nd general from your main attacking camp (green garrison on the map). Use the suggested troops. Getting the timing right is key. Look carefully at where the blocking general is placed on the tactical map and match it with your own sending of your main attacking general.

I fluffed this up a few times but eventually my braincell kicked in.

I hope it helps. Whisp me if you get stuck

I've got it - so far I've managed the two first blocks - many thanks for your help! :-)

No one else seems to have had the problem, but with the last block my attacking general didn't have enough time to reach the camp, so he got intervened (he stepped into it the moment the blocker lost his battle and went outside again, stupid guy ;-) ). I managed only just in the second try, where I ordered him to attack a little earlier (one or to spots).

But otherwise great map, thanks for uploading! :-)

Thanks, I have done the map now though - and the "problem" I wrote about latest might just have been because I hadn't placed my attacking general at the completely correct place, I see now.
