Trading copper ore for gold

Hi,

Had a look through the forum, though couldn`t see if this one had been logged or not.

Whne I set up a trade for Copper ore , asking for gold, it trades me the ore and takes gold from me. I`ve checked it and I`m doing the trade in the correct way from the trade window, ie putting what I want on the right had side and what goods I`m offering on the left hand side of the trade offer window, though it is going in reverse as oppose to other trades.

You are beeing scammed.

What happens is this: People see your trade, but instead of taking the trade in the trade window they send you what is called a reverse trade. So they send you a direct offer, taking your gold and giving you copper ore.

The mail you get then looks exactly like the mail you get from a normal trade. But if you take the time to read it then you will see that you pay gold for copper instead of selling copper for gold.

What you need to do is to read the mail, and understand what will happen before you click accept. Simply decline trades that are scams.

and immediately remove those persons from your friends list as only people on your friend list can send you the reverse trades.

And i would advice using /ignoreadd <name of scammer> to avoid future problems
