This is as much a question as a statement. Anyways I sent 50 recruits and 26 militamen up against 180 hounds and 20 rangers. According to my calculations Militiamen got 20-40 damage each, which in this situation eqauls a total damage of 520-1040. The hounds got 5 health each, which means a total of 900 health.
Now what I wonder about is the fact that I lost 33 recruits to the hounds first strike, and still with all my militiamen alive the bandits lost only 44 hounds.
Either I'm missing some facts here or my militiamen only dealt 220 damage which is far below the minimum damage.

Only units having the ability "splash damage" can distribute their damage on multiple targets.
Neither your 17 surviving (from the hounds) recruits, your 26 militia nor your general have that ability.
Thus they can only attack 17+26+1 = 44 targets per round, resulting in 44 dead hounds.

I see. Makes sense I guess.
Thank you :)
