Most of the guides require a Veteran, xbows and elite soldiers for now. They will most likely work with normal soldiers
when blocking is not involved but this has not been tested. Do so at your own risk :)

In my adventures, the more uncommon ones will have tight settings and there will be a small chance of losing one or
two soldiers. Most adventures should have little to no chance of this and if it doesn't say otherwise, assume your
soldiers are safe :)

The sim I use is: http://settlersonlinesimulator.com/dso_kampfsimulator/en
Also this (http://www.settlersonlinetools.com/en/combat_simulator) is useful to check the contents of camps prior to starting the adventure or as an alternate simulator :)

Please note some of the general settings are tight and you may lose a soldier or two, however these chances should still be 1/100 or less.

Send blocks one after the other, blocked camps are numbered blue.
Blue arrows indicate a normal general, red a veteran. for the two 50C waves, a battle hardened general is recommended but not required.

All blocks are type 2, and will last for a bare minimum of 6 rounds.

This guide was made while I was still deciding on a format, it will be updated when my laptop is repaired and I can access the blank map :)

This is a very popular adventure and this is a tactic I have yet to see in a guide, thanks to MAKOgbr for coming up with it!

There are no blocks or retreats. You kill all but 3 camps.

I set about doing old friends as I thought I would be able to block camp number 1 and attack the witch tower first, then block it again when attacking the tower thus saving recruits and the trouble of having to resist finishing the map early. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure my first task is an impossible one but at least I've made some progress :)

oh, and I prefer to lose bowmen over recruits (camp 1), alternate general setting is 60R 190E

There should be no elite soldier loss, even as a small chance (according to the sim)

Hey Herps, when u bring out ur guide for Victor?

I have a longbow/normal gen one I made ages ago :P I can draw that up alongside a vet/xbow one :) it's just summoning the courage to face him :( that adventure is hard.

herpyderp
23.09.12, 21:27
There is something wierd about the trap at the top. Your vet gets intercepted on camp 9 if it enters the trap's red area before it has been hit, but it doesn't attack the trap. I'm fairly sure this isn't supposed to happen (though it would be helpful in adventures like Nords) but it doesn't really change much here.

General C should be a BHG if possible, though the block averages 8 rounds with a minimum of 6 so it would probably be do-able without.

As always, send generals in alphabetical order with the exception of the third block, where you send in the order A, V, C. As long as you're not too early, you'll be fine. The information is on there in case you forget, enjoy! :)

This guide uses Normal General & The units: Recruits, Mitilia, Cavalary, Longbowmen & Soldiers

I have used 3 generals since it is more convenient when you do blocks, but you can do it with 2 generals too, might take a little longer.

There are 2 ways to fight the witch tower, 1: with cavalry loses & 2: with soldier & longbowmen loses.

For Cav loses:

Total Units: 409R 200C 150S 73LB
Units Lost: 409R 88C 30S

For Soldier & LB loses:

Total Units: 395R 200C 150S 50LB
Units Lost: 395R 91S 30LB

If you decide to block Camp 5 then u'll need 44R less for both & additional 30R 20S 20M with no loses if timed properly & full loss apart from the general if u fail to time it.

Here is the map. The numbers used here are in the you can attack them. Skipping can be only done through blocks...no other way that I know of.

http://imageshack.us/a/img842/7515/mapzv.jpg

The Generals that travel to this zone set up the garrison in the Landing Zone. You can move him as near as possible to the camps you attack.

Attacking Camp 1:

40 Cultists : 200C( 0 loses)

Attacking Camp 2 & 3:

You could use a block here too, I just tried it out, works well, but i'm not giving it here since the loses are almost the same. So there's no point in actually using a block. If you want a block version, let me know & i'll add it for you.

Camp 2 - 50 Cultists : 7R 193C ( 3R-5R loses)

Camp 3 - 40 Cultists, 40 Fanatics : 15R 185C ( 10R loses)

http://imageshack.us/a/img10/8823/zone2.jpg

Attacking Camp 4:

60 Cultists : 15R 185C ( 10R loses)

http://imageshack.us/a/img593/3292/75668009.jpg

Attacking Camp 5 & 6:

Without Block

Camp 5 - 60 Shadowsneakers, 40 Dark Priests : 50R 60S ( 45R loses)

Camp 6 - 33 Cultists, 33 Dark Priests, 33 Shadowsneakers : 130R 70S (52R loses)

With Block

Camp 5 - 60 Shadowsneakers, 40 Dark Priests : 30R 20M 20S ( no loss if timed properly or you lose almost all except the general ) This gives you about 3 - 4 rounds of fight & so there is time for the 2nd general to attack the leader camp with just 1 round of fight.

Camp 6 - 33 Cultists, 33 Dark Priests, 33 Shadowsneakers : 130R 70S (52R loses) (better to use a battle hardened general. But if using normal gen...timing is very important)

http://imageshack.us/a/img507/3623/62010752.jpg

Let the general reach between the next 2 flags, you can attack the leader camp with the next general. (Again) Should work well if you have timed it properly.

http://imageshack.us/a/img17/3358/block2v.jpg

Attacking Camp 7:

120 Cultists : 60R 70S 70C ( 51R loses)

http://imageshack.us/a/img833/6978/53257351.jpg

Attacking Camp 8 & 9:

Block works really well here, place the generals in these positions & send them one after another attacking camp 8 first.

http://imageshack.us/a/img253/734/block3.jpg

Camp 8 - 80 Cultist, 60 Dark Priests : 1R ( 1R loss)

Camp 9 - 40 Cultists, 120 Shadowsneakers, 1 Dark High Priest : 50R 150S (50R 23S loses)

Attacking the Witch Tower: 100 Cultists, 99 Dark Priests, 1 Witch of the Swamp

http://imageshack.us/a/img13/4475/40287180.jpg

There are 2 ways of doing this as per the units available to you: Cavalry loss & Soldier loss. You will need 2 waves for both.

Cavalry Loss:

Wave 1: 112R 88C ( 112R 88C loses)
Wave 2: 72R 20S 35C 73LB ( 72R 7S loses)

Soldier & LB loses:

Wave 1: 170R 30LB ( 170R 30LB loses)
Wave 2: 100C 80S 20LB ( 68S loses)

The losses on this guide are a maximum, and so you probably won't need to bring all 185M (unless you have really bad luck).
170M has always been more than enough to see me through this guide :) As usual, there should be no chance of elite soldier loss.

Oh, and the only general you will use is a Veteran. That's why there's no general column in the settings.
Enjoy :)

Sticking with the Nords theme, here is Surprise Attack!

The settings are sound but you may end up losing an elite or two if you're very unlucky.

There are a couple more opportunities for blocks on this map. Camps 2 and 16, possibly camp 1 as well.
I didn't do these because they either don't save many troops or they would require more troops than you
would typically own (like 300+ elites).

To keep troop numbers within realistic limits some of the blocks are 100% loss (if they fail). You can also
expect lag due to the lootspot buyer so it is very important you send generals immediately one after the
other to avoid any nasty accidents.

If you do that, you should have absolutely no trouble. Enjoy :)

As the guide says, a BHG is highly recommended to avoid countdowns of the block camps and in one or two cases a chance of losing a block general. The settings haven't been thoroughly tested without a BHG so do so entirely at your own risk.

I also highly recommend you simulate wave 19b yourself. (http://settlersonlinesimulator.com/dso_kampfsimulator/en) 126R 43C will take out the worst case scenario but that is unlikely to be the real outcome.
As a very general rule use 4 more cavalry than the remaining scavangers. You could also choose to lose less recruits (remove them in stacks of 20ish for optimized results) but this would mean you need more cavalry.

If you still have 1 scavenger left after 19b, either use 65M 1E 184X for 19c (1/2200 chance of elite and minor xbow loss) or if you don't have any extra militia, send an extra wave of 6c.

It took me really long to get this 1 ready...sorry about that. I've got 2 versions of this adventure, One an XP version to get max xp & a loot version where you just do the killing that is absolutely necessary.

I'm posting this in different threads so this is not confusing.

I've use 3 normals generals here. Easier to complete.

Hope you all will like this guide.

Attack camp 5 with 200 recs....gen will be intercepted & camps 4 & 5 will be finished.

http://imageshack.us/a/img713/3174/totalc.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/713/totalc.jpg/)

The blocks have yes(for which camp to block)

Time the blocks properly & you'll succeed. They shouldn't be much of a problem.

1st Block
http://imageshack.us/a/img35/9383/imageheg.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/35/imageheg.jpg/)

http://imageshack.us/a/img696/4637/image2ih.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/696/image2ih.jpg/)

Place the generals at G1 & attack both the camps.

2nd Block
http://imageshack.us/a/img191/6074/image1nm.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/191/image1nm.jpg/)

Attack camp 7 first. As soon as the general is about to start the fight, send in the 2nd general to attack the leader camp.
The block give about 4-5 rounds of fight & enough time for the gen to reach the leader.

That's it. Good Luck :D

Angella
15.10.12, 16:06
The loot version saves you 100R, less XP but can be finished fast.

I've used 3 normal generals here. Can be done with 2 but those will need time to recover after the 1st waves. So 3 is better otherwise you'll have to wait 4 hrs for the gen recovery

For camps & 3 & camps 4 & 5 , attack camp 3 & 5...general will be intercepted & both camps will be finished in 1 go.

http://imageshack.us/a/img802/3794/totalp.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/802/totalp.jpg/)

That's it. Good luck with that ;)
