No why would it ? retail pack is another form of revenue for BB its not the first time we have had a retail pack. Are you thinking the game is being released on disc ? that's not the case its just a pack with gems and a little extra content for us to have fun with.

I'd like to know if they will be releasing a version for the Mac, as it looks like it's just a PC DVD?

It is a browser game, it needs no version PC/MAC ...
Propably if there is a dvd inside it will be extra content such as videos etc.

there is a DVD in the pack thats what the content is on I am not sure if this is on mac or not...A question for BB_Dantessma maybe ?

The game runs in your browser, the DVD has nothing you need for playing the game.......

Once you have purchased a starter pack you can claim the resources by typing the codes provided in the voucher (http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/profil#redeem-voucher) section of the website.

The DVD-ROM isn't required, you will only need access to The Settlers Online homepage :).
