Music and sound effects won't turn off!!!!

I want to start by saying I love the update and I understand technical problems happen and you do your best to sort them out.

My problem is that since yesterday the music and sound effects (which I find really annoying especially as I want to listen to the radio or watch tv at the same time as playing settlers) will not turn off. In fact they come on even if I am not logged into the game. As soon as I open the home screen it starts.

I have cleared my browsing data and cookies and all that several times, closed and opened, refreshed, restarted the computer numerous times, done full shutdown. I have checked they are off in the drop down menu and tried turning them on and off again several times there also.

It really is driving me nuts!! I need some help!!

Update ... they seem to have magically gone away ... for now!

Update .... having logged out now they are back again!!!! I am so frustrated ... and no one from support ever replies to my support queries ... hoping they might look at this!!

Very unusual, never come across this before, only that they always get switched back on after an update.
have you got an unusual sound setup? From what you're describing, it seems like either stuff is being cached in the sound system, or more likely, some external program has intercepted them, and doesn't know when to stop playing them. (eg. the sound redirection program that comes with USB headphone sets, etc...)

Update ... seems to have stopped. One of my Guildies had the same problem a couple of weeks ago apparently! Just glad it's gone at the moment
