So, how much is everything worth? Is 500 marble worth the same as 500 hardwood? How many coins is 1000 steel worth?
I see some wildly different prices for items for sale. How about establishing a coin standard? Agree a standard price for every commodity. Then let market forces drive changes.

In the early days things quickly found their level and then fluctuated as demand grew.. i remember when 100 Marble got you 100 Gold but as more people got marble mines the price dropped rapidly till people stopped offering Marble for Gold at all.
Time of day is important too.. if you are on 6am GMT you'll find a limited number of trades but you can get some amazing deals too with the fewer people to nab them.. 6pm GMT and people are home from work and all working on their islands and suddenly there's loads more things on sale and more competition.
There is no way to set a level when tomorrow they can start a quest where Wheat becomes massively in demand and suddenly the cheap lots on the trade will dry up and be replaced with prices the reflect the new demand.
The best way to find the value is watch the trade board and see the average price and compare it to what it's worth to you on any given day. IMHO.
Look at the Newfoundland tradesheets as a base price, the rest is supply and demand.
