cant buff the barracks

there is a quest that askingme to buff a barrack butt that isnt posible when i am trying to buff it. help me

What exactly does the quest text say.

No Barracks can't be buffed with your normally produced buffs but it can be buffed with premium items from the store, so make sure of what it's asking before you go that route.

And having just said that we get a Christmas gift that includes a a barracks buff!

Look in your star menu.
If it's a quest, then the chance is pretty good that you would find a Mr Myers in there...

I think this is the answer. For some reason I thought buffs were only food so I was trying to send fish platter to the Barracks! By the time I figured this out the training was complete!
