Since following the stats from the 'End of the World' event (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/21312-The-End-of-the-World-Stat-Board.), I've wondered what all those other servers were. I decided to find out, but couldn't find any lists anywhere, so I made my own...

Sorry, I couldn't find a 'name' for the last 4 servers on this list. Maybe someone from BB could fill in the gaps...?

Just added Greek, Romanian and 'Asia Pacific English' (South-east Asia) servers to the list - HUGE thanks to Iolanthe (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/members/505038-Iolanthe) for finding these for me, and for getting this post moved back from the 'Important Information' forum, where it became uneditable...

And what would be so different compared to an european english language server?

Much simpler to moderate, more chance that BB could then assign certain "special days" where gifts are bestowed as is done on single language servers, and without 24 different chat channels in operation, perhaps a reduction in lag?

Valid points, Nogbad.

As BB are regularly adding new servers in new countries, maybe they will either:
a) Make a UK-based English-only server
b) Gradually remove non-English players from the EU servers, and make that single-language (or at least less than 24 languages)

I personally like playing with people from other countries, it provides interesting chats.

I think it would be a shame to segregate the servers further by language. Our guild has English, Irish, Croatian, Slovenian, Danish and American players. It makes for interesting chat!

Can you guys turn these back to European servers and give UK dudes and dudettes their own servers. For some reason we are now under the flag of Great Britain instead of EU flag. EU flag suited much better considering how many countries are represented (atleast in here Newfoundland).

Either ask BB directly, or look around each server in turn.
Since Glitzerstadt, there have been Czech, Greek, Chinese, Romanian (the last one I recall), another Polish and probably others I've forgotten.

What might be a bit more beneficial would be an Oceanic/South Pacific Server - its a long way to the UK from here :)

Reviving an old topic here -lol-
But with good news ;)

We have updated the server online status.
Also changed it's URL to a new server.
You can still see if a server is reachable and available. but the page is pre-loaded and the status is checked every 5 minutes automatically.
So no waiting time if one or more server are offline.
We also updated the code to a newer version PHP, so it might be possible to detect game availability in the future.

Can you show me the thread where French, Italian, Germans and Poles etc had to justify having their own servers?

As english is the most widely spoken language in the remaining non language server playerbase it makes sense to have a more international oriented english speaking server/server group

germans and polish justify their own specific one due to the large number of players, both language sections have a lot more servers than this section has

French one i guess is for the french but also all french language or french as second language in more or less the same timezone (EMEA)

So basically i will expect that the french could have the same silly argument that they want/demand their own country server instead of a french language server
