Windows Off The Screen

I'm playing this on my netbook with a screen resolution of 1024x600. Lots of the windows such as trade and building info appear off the screen and are either uncloseable or just plain unusable.

There is a thread about this here, but I'm afraid the game wasn't designed for "low" resolutions
