The Friary was originally a building that became available during the 2012 EC Football Event (6th June 2012 - 5th July 2012), and was available for 'Footballs'.

What was the original cost, during the event?

I found a reference on the .net forums. The friary was available for 840 'Footballs' during the event and was limited to 5 per player
