View Full Version : Can't cancel Guild Quest
I am trying to cancel the Guild Quest "The marble bridge" (as I am guild leader). I have done so many times before, because this is not a quest that pays off for my guild.
However, the quest only disappears for me, and not for the rest of the guild. When I refresh, the quest is back. I tried refreshing, relogging, clearing and restarting, but nothing works. The quest still reappears when I log back in.
This is not the first time I cancel a guild quest, but it's the first time it's not working. We currently have no quest in Waiting Quests, and perhaps that has something to do with it, but this has not been a problem earlier. We have simply had a few hours with no guild quest at all, and a new one has appeared at 2am as usual.
Our Guild has the Same Issue on NorthIsle. never had any issues till the Easter update. Our Guild leader has logged it to support.
Indeed my guild has the same issues and because we are getting the adventure Pirates over and over and over again its getting more difficult to complete it. Also the adventure is getting more exspensive because of the event.

I've had the same issue in my guild.
As leader I have cancelled a few quests in the past ok but recently (last 2 weeks) I have had the same experience as Legawien above on two guild quests. Both times we've had no choice but to complete the quest at great pain to the guild members (as no new quest arrives otherwise). I logged it with support and their response was an apology but that it was in the hands of the development team (and implicitly no immediate action to be expected).
Each time has been on Geology day where we are vulnerable as a guild as players have to do Pirates solo. Like others here repeated cancellations don’t register and you wind up unable to escape the quest (see image above from my one of my officers). My guild members are spending gems to complete the quest which I know is in BB's favour but I am sure that this is not deliberate.
A fix or some compensation would be welcome, preferably the former. Stanislav (Ashes of Time)
I am a guild leader on Sandycove. Since the last maintenance, with the introduction of the Easter event, all guilds are unable to cancel quests should they try to do so.
I know that several others are in the same situation. Being Easter holidays, many players are away, so not enough to complete in the normal manner.
I would suggest that there is some sort of glitch which needs urgent attention please.
Anyone have a clue when this will be fixed?
The new build that has just gone live on the test server has a fix for this listed in the update, so I imagine we could see it as soon as the 19th! But no official word yet

Thank you for replying, but I don't consider the 19th to be soon in any kind of way.
However, I am glad Slash knows the problem exists.

Indeed, for a major problem such as this, a quicker workaround would be in order.
For instance, you could send the adventure to everyone as a special reward because the King did a booboo, blabla, cute story, etc.
That way we dont need to shell out 500gc for the Pirates adventure and wait 5 days for everyone to complete it (only to face the next one coming up already, as a figure of speach).

Please could we have free adventures in the mean time so we can complete them.... thx :) Pirates is now rare as rocking horse dung on our server...
Hi, could anyone from BB confirm if the fix will be implemented during this weeks maintenance please?
Come on BB, a yes, no or even a don't know yet would be fine, or should everyone affected by this problem log a ticket as suggested for if we can't find an answer to the problem on the forum?
Yet again very poor communication...
So I raised a ticket with support to try and get an update. Stock copy and paste answer, but of course I won't break the rules and say what they said... I will however say they seem to be as much in the dark as the rest of us on this so I'm not hopeful for a fix this week.
All I can say is having worked as an IT services and software provider for many years: I'm very glad the company I work for communicates a lot better with its customers than BB do, else I doubt there would be any customers left...
Today, I logged in hoping we would be able to cancel the quild quest, but sadly still not possible. I have asked all my guild members to start mailing support about this, as its getting unacceptable. One thing is sure, i doubt many of our members will buy any more gems, after waiting for having this sorted out for about an month now.
Same for our guild Angel Doves, no problem before Easter event, now i cant cancel guild quest...

Amazing... there is already a fix for it on the test server, so why is it not implemented on the main server?
I also reported the issue to the support department.. Well,the answer was really stupid. Ofcourse there is no timeline when the fix which is already present in the testing server will be moved to the live server, knowing BB this might take a while :(

No offense Dantesama, but the dev team really needs to re-think their strategy of testing fixes on the test server and then still having people wait for a month before the real game is updated. This means a whole month of misery for the players. That is just not acceptable for a game where you expect people to have fun.
That is my opinion anyway.

Today I cancelled our guild quest since we've been at 11/12 for a while...

Is there not a manual work around where you/support can cancel/remove/complete and take away reward for the mean time while you fix?
so far I have spent 2 x gem finish and over 400 gold coin in getting quests done that would have been cancelled in guild, I hope we get compensation for this horrible bug. An i agree with the sentiment that it really needs to be turned around faster when every player in a guild is affected.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, we were one of the guilds that couldn't do the guild quests for two months due to the previous issue with them and we didn't get anything.

So stock cut and paste response there and only two weeks late? We know the dev team have been working on a fix, as we saw it two weeks ago on test! I don't have a problem with the fact a date isn't known by the way... but to respond like this after such a long time just further proves the point that your communication regarding bugs on the forum is severely lacking.

The resources where used to get around a bug, and would not have been spent if the cancel function was working. so I think compensation is due. Your trolling is not appreciated.
Well done to BB for fixing it so that the guild creator can now cancel guild quests (for those of us that do get guild quests) :)
However - earlier those members that were admin (or whatever you have named them, ie the membership tier below the guild creator) could also cancel them. Could we also have this back, pretty please. Surely cancellation of quests should come under the remit of guild administrators?

In theory 2, the current and the waiting (if you have a waiting!)
