No idea if anyone has posted such a guide yet, but I needed one to do the Levels 36-45 Crisis quest (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/23946-Crisis-Quest-2?p=222499&viewfull=1#post222499) that requires completing Sons of the Veld.

Since Im below level 41 and thus don't have Elite Soldiers, this guide uses regular Soldiers. I did not include blocks, as I'm a new player and I get too much lag to do them :)

I maintained the weebly site camp format in case I complete this for other levels or if someone wants to contribute.

I used the combat simulator to arrange the troops: http://settlersonlinesimulator.com/dso_kampfsimulator/en/adventures/soehne-der-steppe/?my_r=250&my_m=250&my_s=250&my_e=0&my_c=250&my_b=250&my_lb=0&my_a=250&my_k=0&wave=0&limit-trigger=false&limit-trigger=true

PATHING:

For the pathing please refer to the excellent weebly guide: http://settlersonlineguide.weebly.com/250-general12.html

Well, thanks to shocking lag, next time I use this method for the last camps.
Lost a lot of valuable troops in the blocks, after 5 generals walked on the spot.

That's your fault for not keeping a closer eye on it.

This may end up a double post?? If I replace some of the S for ES (Not where S are lost) will it reduce the losses anyone know??

If 5 Generals were walking on the spot, you would be crazy to even think about letting the attempted block to continue.

I'm still new to Blocking, just did my first few. The final 5 General block at the end sounds really hard.

How does it even work anyway, since the boss camp in the last sector is a 2 wave battle??????!!!!!!!!

It should reduce losses.

BUT replacing Soldiers for Elite Soldiers would change a lot of camp set ups, its not as simple as replacing all S for ES.

Since Elites do more damage it CAN mean faster battles. But you should reduce number of Recruits to actually have fewer losses. That is, if the reduced Recruits can soak the damage and stuff.

So I recommend using this to change the camps: http://settlersonlinesimulator.com/dso_kampfsimulator/en/adventures/soehne-der-steppe/?my_r=250&my_m=250&my_s=250&my_e=250&my_c=250&my_b=250&my_lb=0&my_a=250&my_k=0&wave=0&limit-trigger=false&limit-trigger=true

Basically, I was!
Trying to catch up a stuffed crisis Quest, there was no time for niceties.
But when that lag is bad, you really can't tell anyway, your screen could be showing your general at Point A, but the server actually has him at Point B.
The failed 1R block on Swampy is a classic case in point, even though the 2nd general was well past the usual 'safe point', and had circled his camp ready to attack, he was still intercepted by the block camp, as what was on screen was not a true picture of what the server was playing.

This is why you use a fast general on the 1st wave, to finish the suicide wave quickly.
In a perfect world, the long blocks on the earlier camps should last long enough to allow all this to happen, but as in my post above, if you can't trust your eyes, blocks like this are suicidal until BB sort out this lag.
On this occasion, Block 1 started counting down as the BH had just passed, and the Vet was right next to that camp, at least he made it to the intercept zone of the leader camp before the 1st block went down, the 2nd block also finished early, going down a few seconds befoe the leader camp battle was won. Blocks 3 and 4 ran perfectly, but with the distances involved, it only takes a minor glitch to send the whole thing haywire.
