Discovered a problem with the science system and the bookbinding glue.
I have a level 3 bookbinder setup, produce a manuscript. I knew that the bookbinding buff was a 24hr, so I waited until the last 1.5 hrs of productio to aplly it.

Initially the timer immediately dropped to 42 mins, as you would expect for a production timer being halved.
Fantastic! So I thougt.
However, when the timer ran down, I 'collected' the book and immediately started producing the next.
I then went to Geologists menu to apply book, not there.
Went to storage menu, not there.
Checked in the star menu, not there.
I then went back to the bookbinder to find that the timer was down to 1.5 MINS already.

I thought it might have been lag on my PC, so I refreshed, checked again.

Waited for timer, collected,.....

The same thing is now happening for a 4th (Yes Fourth) time. My bookbinders buff has just run down too 10hr 50 mins and I have finally collected my first buff.

So heres my questions.
1. Does the bookbinder buff actually work or is this a white elephant?

2. Does the buff have to be applied before the book production starts. If this is the case, please make it widely known!

Thanks.

when you said you "immediately started producing the next" do you mean you produced a manuscript and then started to produce a tome?

To produce a "Tome" it uses 1 manuscript in the production remember,

I learnt this the hard way also lol

What happens after a refresh? Same results?

No, No point producing Tombs until you have applied enough manuscripts to the lower tiers. I went straight into Manuscript production again.

Yes, Same result. Happened 4 times in total, by which time the production had reached its 'unbuffed' time period so eventually it completed so I have collected and applied the manuscript. I have also started the next production and it seems to be behaving normally.
