Event Information

"The Settlers" brand is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. To celebrate this together, We have prepared a little something for you :)

EVENT SUMMARY

Gather as many balloons as you can and donate them to bring victory to your server! This will be the main goal during this Event. You will have the following ways of gathering balloons:

a. Loot from adventures
b. Rewards from quests (special daily quests and special quest chains)
c. Converting resources to balloons in your provision house
d. Playing the game -> Trading, constructing buildings, upgrading buildings, treasure hunts, buffs and many more.


While you play the game and perform certain actions (from point d), the resources gathered will be sent regularly via mail, so don't forget to check and accept them. Once you have gathered some balloons, you can donate them from your storage. They will be counted for your server as soon as they are taken out of your storage.

The first four days of the event will be phase 1. Each server has to reach a certain amount of gathered balloons during this time. The faster the server reaches the amount of balloons, the more rewards the players will get.

After phase 1 and before the competition starts (phase 2), the donate button will be blocked. When it gets activated again, it means collecting all the balloons you can. For the competition itself some servers will be grouped in pools so that everyone has the chance to win.

There are certain balloon goals (100%, 150% and 200% on the list), which will give the server additional rewards.

The Event will last four weeks. After this period, everyone on the servers who has reached the particular percentage will get a reward. Additional rewards will be given to the servers which:
- reach 200% first
- gather the most balloons overall


There will be two special quest chains during the Event. The first one starts at level 1 and briefly explains the main mechanics. The second quest chain starts at level 26, as son as the first quest chain is finished. It features two special military adventures, with an individual story and tasks.

Furthermore, there will be special daily quests giving each player a retro click adventure, including original Settlers 2 graphics. By the way, the graphics aren't the only retro part. Take a listen while playing...

Besides the Settlers 2 Headquarters, you will be able to obtain Medipacks, Hired troops, cool retro skins for some of your buildings, special adventures from the second quest chain, and gems.

I'm confused.

Should you be getting balloon rewards just from buffing buildings and trading (separately from the quest chain)? That's the implication, yet I've yet to receive any mails with the promised balloon rewards. Yes, I've tried refreshing.

Am I unlucky, does anyone know the odds?
Have I misunderstood something?
Do I have to do something more specific?

I believe it's very low odds, from what I understand you have a chance of getting 5 Balloons from Sir Oliver in a mail every hour!

this first part is a four day quest.

that means 96 hours... for convenience lets say 100 hours.

That means to get 100 % you would need 1% every hour for 100 hours.

Highest ranked server has just over 1% in 9 hours.

Some guildies told me that they are getting Balloons instead of XP doing regular Adventures (Dark Priests).

(they are'nt sure as they clicked the loot too fast...)

Can anyone quickly and swiftly confirm or deny this?

And what about the regular Adventure loot, will any slot be REPLACED by balloons, or are the Balloons a BONUS?...

Ok confirmed for myself that Balloons do not replace XP. The XP was hidden to the right, as the Balloons came first, and there was a scroll thing at the bottom.


NOW, there is a LOT of confusion on my server....

Do we need to reach 100% to qualify for Phase 2

OR

Do we need an X NOT disclosed amount of balloons????????????????????????????????????

I just finished the Old Ruins (unfortunately did before doing the Competition one). Almost at the end of OR, I got a message to say can't donate any more balloons! Finished OR then did the Competition quest, got the 100 balloons & now can't finish the quest as it won't let me donate the last 100 balloons I need to do. Not very well thought out here, BB! Am now stuck at the end with nowhere to go! :-((

BTW, our server hasn't reached the 100% yet, so why closed? Is 98.53%, 19th place - UK1 server.

If you had a pop-up and the Donate button is disabled you should have the 100%. Grats Northisle!

The graph has been bugged since BB revised the numbers and updated it, all the servers above you have likely reached 100% as well though it doesn't show.

I'm afraid I'm not certain about the *stuck* bit, though it may unlock when phase 2 starts you could also drop a note to: Support (http://www.thesettlersonline.com/en/help-and-support). As it's the weekend you'll likely not hear back for a while but it's a start.

Thanks for that Iolanthe. I had just found that out but it doesn't really make any difference. UK1 is now 100% in 4th position. UK2 (mine) is 20th with 99.75% so shouldn't be locked. If the event started on Thurs, the 4 days aren't up yet anyway - donations supposed to be frozen after the 4 days aren't they???

Also, there was no warning. Just popped up that donations now blocked. BB should have given say 5 min warning giving time to get back to own island to make donation before everything froze! Not good :-((

Am now left with 600+ balloons I could have donated if given more warning ... And not been able to finish the event quest 'The Competition' - the very last one - & no prospect of being able to finish it.

As with Mr Travis, I cancelled the ruins quest half way through when told that the 1st pahse had finished (well I didn't wantto watse resources). It is still asking me to complete it and I don't have another one. Any ideas how to resolve this ?
