View Full Version : [OPEN] Guild stops receiving the daily Guild Quests
Short description:
The guild doesn't receive new Guild Quests. The first symptoms seem to be that you don't receive a waiting Guild Quest (when your current Guild Quest isn't finished in time).
Screenshot:
Since the absence of something isn't easily screenshotted, I use 2 screenshots on 2 subsequent days.

Possible cause:
Unknown, might be related to players joining/leaving, not finishing your guild quest in time...
Prevention:
Unknown
Workaround:
Unknown
you could try letting players leave and rejoin (beware there is a 24h cooldown before you can rejoin a guild) (Doesn't work tried myself)

Guild has multiple active Guild Quests

[2013-09-01] Kicking a member that was on last guild quest is no workaround
Though we've had no Waiting Guild Quest for days, now that we've completed at last a new GQ has appeared out of thin air. When we let go a member who had the quest active it completed immediately (accepting 13 done instead of 14) and the next appeared soon after, not as quickly as a Waiting Quest does but it didn't take long.
The new GQ is very nice but not entirely comforting since the missing Waiting is exactly how it started the last two times when we lost them completely. The first time GQs were gone for two weeks and were restored with a reset to fix a different GQ bug, the second time they were gone for two months and with no (useful) news from Support or the The Powers we abandoned our old guild and founded a new one, this also worked as a reset. A very expensive reset indeed but there was nothing else on offer nor sign of anything to come.
While we have ours back 'for now' there are other guilds who've not seen a quest for a while and any news on the (also missing) bi-weekly reset:
We will perform a guild quest reset every two weeks until we apply a corrective patch.
[News] Guild Quest Reset (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/23883-News-Guild-Quest-Reset)
would be much appreciated. The guild overview can't help sort what simply isn't there but the resets can, unfortunately the last was on 08.08 (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/21689-Maintenance?p=234255&viewfull=1#post234255) and since then, nothing.
My guild PIGS OF ROUND TABLE, doesnt have guild quest for 3 weeks already. I have contact support, BB, every day. They know about this situacion, and all im getting from them is this.... [ Removed ] and every mail from them is same...for 3 weeks...

My guild Democrazy [Vote] is experiencing this problem too, so most of the information in the first post is from first hand experience.
We don't know exactly what triggered the problem. We did gain a member the day before we lost our guild quest. The first symptom was that we didn't have a waiting guild quest, while our guild quest was a day late. When we finished that guild quest we also didn't receive a new guild quest and haven't gotten one since a week.
Yesterday I tried to restart the guild quest by letting myself be kicked out of the guild. It didn't work. Just rejoined after my 24 hour cooldown, so one hope is that we get a new guild quest tomorrow. I'll let you know, but I'm don't expect it to work.
For all those guilds out there that have this problem, try to remember what happened around the time you lost your guildquest. Also it would help if you told us what your guild tried to do to fix it. Even if it didn't work, since that will save others the trouble to try it as well.
We have no guild quest at all. This happend with the maintanance on August 22nd. I am hoping this will be fixed with the quest reset that should be tonight.
Our guild lost our guild quests for 3 MONTHS last year this is how long it took us to get it back and we got NO sorry or anything and every guild member mailed support
After maintenance my guild [Vote] has guild quests again.
As to the reason why...
I do not know yet.
It could very well be a guild quest reset or, the only other reason I can think of is: one of our longtime inactives became active again
Ah glad you've got a qorking quest again!
But I dont think it was a reset. We finished our guildquest yesterday. We already didn't get a waiting for a while, and no new one has arrived. Maintenance didn't bring a new one either.
If the developers do have e-mail, could they just answer the question: Why is there no reset for the guild-quests anymore?
Did they think they had permanently fixed the guildquests, did they forget about the resets, or is the reset broken itself now? It's not a terribly complex question, unless they have no way to send a message. Which leads to the valid question: Do they have/know how to use e-mail?
But I dont think it was a reset. We finished our guildquest yesterday. We already didn't get a waiting for a while, and no new one has arrived. Maintenance didn't bring a new one either.
I don't think there was a reset either: yesterday we were stuck on 7/9 for the guild quest. Today it is on 8/9.
Ooh I just saw something funny :)
One of our guildmembers has "completed" the guildquest, all others just have "none". So everyone who had a quest (according to the overview) has done it, but it didn't complete. When he's online I'll ask if he really got a guild-quest, as the overview suggests.
Most likely it's just the overview being wrong here, not the first time it's acting strange.
I'm a member of the Golden Oldies guild and we notice after the last maintenance on Thursday the waiting guild quest stopped/didn't show up. We have completed the current guild quest and as there is no waiting quest we have no guild quest showing up. Can you please fix this problem as soon as possible and would you able to provide some form of compensation, as it is rare for us to not finish a guild quest on a daily basis. Thank you
Kind Regard

For compensation your best bet is to contact Support, sadly there isn't a lot we can do from the forums, alternatively you can contact BB_Alpaca (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=623668) via PM
We in Madness Inc have not received guild quests for 2 days now (yesterday and today). We only hope that this is fixed asap as we Guildies are the ones losing out.
We (FRE) have not received a waiting guild quest for 2 - 3 weeks. Once we complete a quest the next one does appear a bit later.

Same problem, havent had a guild quest for 2 days now. (Crazy Asylum (caos) guild)
We have GQs again, still no Waiting and there is a delay between completing and the arrival of the new one but they are back. This is just too similar to the previous times for us to feel at all confident they'll remain but, for now at least, it's nice to see them.
A few days ago we gained a new Leader (the original having been inactive 15 days) and our leader, now a regular member, logged in. Within seconds of that login *presto*, a new GQ. Course there's no way to tell whether this is down to coincidence, the appointment of a new leader, an inactive player logging in or that that player was our original leader and this may, or may not, second [Vote]'s experience with:
the only other reason I can think of is: one of our longtime inactives became active again
For all that it's perplexing it is clear in our case that none of this is anything that can be helped by the Overview, something else somewhere is still hinky and it seems to be growing with more and more guilds reporting *vanished* rather than *stuck*.

Cant believe this bug is still around. http://forums.fedoraforum.org//forum/images/smilies/bang_head.gif
No guild quests for a couple of weeks now. Resets dont fix it. End of Halloween event did not fix it.
Latest response of support: [ Removed ] But then why do we not see a waiting GQ?
Come on people, plz fix this!

Sorry I did not know that, the message was copied to me in in-game mail, without the rule stated above.
So is there any light at the end of the tunnel? Problem identified? Some techie digging into the database to set the record straight? Estimated time of fix?
Our guild consists of 100 active, high-level players all waiting for this to be resolved...

Just for my information, are there any other guilds who are currently experiencing the same issue?
Just for my information, are there any other guilds who are currently experiencing the same issue?
Yes, "Bulgaria on 3 Seas" with same issue ....
Hi.
We havent had any guildquests for 2 weeks + now. not even the last quest reset solved it. Plz look into it!
Yes, we are experiencing the same since last weekend. And as far as I can remember, there hasn't been a reset in weeks (could be wrong there).
When your guild is experiencing this problem, please report it to Support and try to put in the name of the last guild quest you completed and the date you completed it. If possible also add the date where the guild quest became the active guild quest.
So kinda like:
Our guild isn't receiving Guild Quests anymore.
Last Guild Quest "Retirement Plan" was completed on 2013-11-18. It became the active Guild Quest on 2013-11-17.
If you think you saw something else that might be relevant, please include that too (at the bottom).
An example might be:
We had a waiting guild quest but that dissapeared and never became active. The name of the waiting guild quest is "A Noble Argument"
People leaving the guild or joining the guild before the new Guild Quest should have appeared might be interesting too.
You can contact Support using the contact form on this page: http://www.thesettlersonline.com/help-and-support
Just a suggestion until cause of problem is found and can be rectified: if this reset does not require some sort of database tinkering that affects every player and not just those in the buggy guild, you could just make a button for the guild leader to reset manually if the guild does not have a guild quest. Or if it's problematic to check for guild quest being there or not, then reset in exchange of guild coins? Not a solution but it'd make everyone's life better until one can be implemented. It's really sucky not to have a guild quest to look forward to. :(

That sounds like an excellent idea FishSmell. Even better would be if one of the developers could press the reset 'button' in the database, so we don't need to wait till this new feature makes it though the beta testing. But yeah, better than nothing.
Copy of my message to support:
I know this isn't a new issue, but it has just hit our guild, Evolution.
2-3 weeks ago I cancelled the guild quest, at a time when we had no waiting
quest. Since then we have never had another waiting quest, however new quests
appeared within a couple of hours of completion.
On Wednesday 20th, in the afternoon, we completed out guild quest, and
received the new one, 'War above the river' I believe it was called?
Something like that... we needed 54 members to complete.
On the evening of Thursday 21st we had our 54th member complete their
individual quest and the guild quest completed. Since then, nothing.
I'm aware from reading the forums that other guilds have had this problem,
but I haven't yet seen a solution... could you please let me know what is
being done about the issue?
Thanks in advance
Now this thread has been going for 11 weeks, but I know the problem existed before that... several months before that in fact? Is anything being done? Because if we end up on the sorry list of the guilds who get 100 guild coins each per fortnight, we'll never accumulate enough coins to make the guild bank worthwhile.
Please, please assure me that the guild bank function won't be introduced until this problem is sorted? Because if it isn't, I'll lose 60-70 of my members... or be forced to disband and reform - which will cost a *lot* of coins...
my guilds Guild Quest [THFC] have had patchy guild quests for about three weeks now I have been contacting support with no help as yet and we, as a guild, are finding it quite frustraiting

So... after a month of not receiving guild quests and sending all possible details about it to the developers, all they come up with is a regular reset. Why could we not get a reset sooner?
And the only compensation so far has been the standard 100 guild coins. Whereas normally we get 17+119gc a day. Okay we would probably cancel some of it, so lets say we have missed out on about 3000gc last month. I'm sorry but 100gc compensation feels like a smack in the face, not v happy with that at all.

The debacle continues and gets worse....
Apparently support is "not able to" give a proper compensation to everyone.
Even more interestingly, some players *did* get a proper compensation, whereas others got the above excuse. The criteria for falling into either category are as of yet unknown.

The criteria for falling into either category has to do with the issue you are experiencing. Compensation is only approved for certain issues. If you have information that 2 players experiencing the same issue have been compensated differently by our support team, please write me a PM and include the ticket numbers for the 2 tickets from support and I will be happy to investigate.
Until then however, I will have to ask you to please stop spreading this type of rumours. Thank you!
Well, the criteria so far was to give the support hard enough time in the ticket to get personal compensation.
I do realise its close to impossible to compensate everyone affected fairly. Digging in logs (if those still exist), keeping track of who and when was in the affected guild, defining an average daily value of ggc gained etc etc... This is why some of us affected players decided not to start a ticket on the issue - having officers and guildleader on it should and was enough really, and in the long run those lost guild coins are not worth the effort on both sides. What annoyed me was the poor handling of the situation. A statement - you already received the 100 ggc compensation for the bug, is not true - those 100 ggc were for a possible reset of an active quest, not compensation for a month of missing any guild quest. So going for that instead of a simple public 'sorry guys' is where it was wrong. :) I don't really want or need the quild coins, just prefer not to be made a... not too smart :)
Can someone please tell me why there need to be a waiting GQ given AND then activated for those having it (so members need to be active for several days in a streak), instead of just letting the waiting GQ to be a sneak peak and then give it as active GQ to members active atm?
we seem to be having trouble getting our guild quest . this is 2nd time this week it has happened. plz help.
I am disappointed that such an old problem (December 2012) has not yet been identified and resolved.
The guild in which I am active (Musketeers) has now fallen victim to this bug. Tickets were logged independently by the Guild Leader (Bobcat) and another guild member. The response from support was in the first instance less than competent, suggesting that it might be caused by corrupt cookies (presumably simultaneously across all 100 guild members' PCs). The more recent response is along the lines of "we don't have a clue what is causing it, but if we are lucky, it might be cleared on the next reset then we can forget about it again". Though not in those words, the meaning was the same.
Guild Quest rewards are a major factor in maintaining guild membership. If these dry up for any length of time, members will naturally seek guilds which do have guild quests operating normally. On a personal level, it is frustrating not to be able to receive guild rewards.
Even more frustrating is the apathetic response from support, especially with such a long-running bug, and this does nothing to inspire me to spend real money on a game from a company which treats its customers with such an apparent lack of care.
The problem has been fixed during weekly maintenance which appeases me somewhat, but I hope someone is actually working on trying to identify the cause and preventing it from happening again. It might also be a good idea to brief support staff on how to respond more appropriately when the fault is reported again.
So we know when there is a bug to report please can someone (preferably someone from BB) tell us what the criteria and timing is intended to be for getting a waiting guild quest?
Is it that we should get a new guild quest every 24hrs, at around 3am, provided that we do not already have a waiting quest at that time?
Gavona, are your guild (leader) deleting unwanted (waiting) GQs?
We're getting our GQs done in 1-4 days and are never deleting any GQs. Sometimes we have to wait for a new GQ without getting it as waiting first.
I'm sure there should be a new GQ generated every 24h at around 3am, though it might depend on how fast you progress in current GQ before a waiting GQ will spawn for you..
Definitely something acting up, when first introduced it was daily at 2-3 am. On a couple of occasions we had got them as late as 4 in the afternoon. Yesterday it was well into the evening when we received one.
yep:
haven't seen waitingQuests for a week now
today kicked one to get GQ settled, no new one appeared...
help! rather quickly!
in other words: make it go away BB! really fast, it's not like a growing guild doesn't have enough issues with late GQ's!!!

Our guild is La Psychadelica [Psych] and last completed guild quest was "Fun With Snow".
Hi, since the last maintenance my guild quests are in the waiting quests tab so there is no way to finish them.
The guild page shows my quest as open.

Have you asked the other members of your guild if the current quest has already been completed ?

It was not completed. I can see the quest progress (like x/48 completed it) and this is the 3. day in a row that my guild quest is a waiting quest.
Only thing I can think of is the game counted you as inactive on the day that you guild received the current quest. Until the current is completed I can't think of anything that you can do.

Not only the current quest is bugged. This is the 3. guid quest that is a waiting quest so even if the guild complete the quest the next one also appear as a waiting quest...
