View Full Version : No need of an auto-refreshing friendslist while typing in chat window
I understand that auto-refreshing friendslist is here to make sure 'user online display' is working, but everytime it's refreshing focus is sent there. If you're typing in chat window you'll get interrupted (and lose the cursor) everytime the friendslist refreshes.
It's also annoying if you've just trawled through 50+ pages of 9 friends 2½ times to find someone and then...
And stop auto-opening the quest book at me!
yet another annoyance
only matched by clicking gems to complete production when cancelling stuff in the ph.

I find the clicking gems by accident more annoying than the auto-refresh, but they are both annoying.
It also refreshes when the guild leader is changing the succession order. It was a right pain the first day that was available, our guild leader was playing around working out how to sort the order and you couldn't type more than 2 letters before you lost your cursor.

Or when someone finishes a Guild Quest or changes a Guild Description
And I would assume when someone joins a guild or if someone gets kicked....
When someone completes the guild quest it's refreshing the friend list and stealing focus away from chat. It's getting really irritating. When it refreshes anything in the interface, put focus back in chat if it was there already. i.e. before refresh check if focus is in chat, after refresh put it back in there if it was already. Fix is simple so you can put it in next week's maint...thanks
This was an "improvement" to the way the friends list is shown. (from Change-Logs 8/8/2013 (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/22645-Change-Logs?p=234011&viewfull=1#post234011))
Mightily annoying when you type a long answer to a question in help, & realise only half the text is there. :mad:
Woohoohoo! 200 posts. ::brew:: ::cigar::

Count yourself lucky. Once we get to 6/7 complete on Northisle, the waiting quest also becomes current so we have two active GQs, only the second one only requires 6 to complete. Once the second one fills up, it seems to trigger the mythical 7th person on the former, and both quests complete simultaneously.
It's been going on a lot longer than that Hairy, someone completing GQ has taken focus from chat for pretty much as long as I've been in my current guild I think... so since the new year, also happens when an officer adds a note against someone. It's a pain, though much less of a pain than SO VERY MANY other things, I'd rank it mid- to low-table. The login and lag issues are still top of the agenda for me - since losing the 'beta' tag there have been a multitude of beta-type issues which are still ongoing after weeks and weeks.

same problem here 9 tries to type 1 sentence and accidentily sent trade to wrong person due to it
Yes, please disable the feature. Along with a lot of other parses. Being able to disable all of the chat but trade, guild and whisper would be a charm.
There are some severe design flaws of game that is only worsening the older game get. You should learn from Drakensang, another very heavy browser-game where all these problems are non-existant. Unless you have just cleared cache, an action that matters little for TSO who's checking every tiny little ting on the server making immense unnecessary traffic.
