View Full Version : Not enough landing zones for returning garrisons

Obviously my island is neigh on packed to capacity with buildings, so I have had to utilize the space around my mayors house and make good use of it as a storehouse - but this is where the garrisons decamp after an adventure...

So to keep getting the "not enough landing zones" message is a real pain and means I either have to manually decamp them further inland wherever I can, or ignore and wait until I start another adventure and do it then.

Can we not have a floating pontoon for them to arrive on, or failing that, just allow them to leave on an adventure straight from the star menu without the need for decamping altogether?

Or does anyone have better suggestions on this?

I think this limitation is usuable - no need to unmount troops from all and every generals after an adventure.

What I don't get is how BB has supposed us to handle the Quartermaster General.. As that General can't do anything but transport troops between islands, it should appear as a ship instead of a 4x big garrison.

This has been suggested on the test server when it was first introduced. It's a shame they did not follow up on the idea. The only thing they said was it was an interesting idea.

I totally agree that it should be a SHIP. Since the guy can't even attack. I don't see the purpose of him being on the land with a 'transfer button'. Maybe a transfer to different water spots around the island but he should not be taking up land space. It's 3x3 block - way too big.

I wish they would fix the general's landing zone as well maybe a beach front area that they can land on that doesn't eat into our building space.

I even moved a building out of the way to give the little rascals space... do they choose to use that nice empty square? no.

At the very minimum they should have it so the generals go to the last space they occupied before going adventuring.

Hi
Is there a way to change the selected landing zone for returning generals?
Best regards,

I really like the idea off making the QM a ship since it is only for transporting
And also making Generals using the empyt spaces there is, instead off staying in starmeny
Or as written above, someway to select the landing zones for generals :)

So +1 from me :)

Any improvement is better than now.
Also, why do we have to wait for 15 or 30 mins for a gen to get to an adv.
Would it really affect the game if this was removed?

Thanks for listening

+1 to change QMG to a Ship he takes up so much space on land.

Also its not so much need more landing zones but don't keep changing them. I like my generals in set spaces but sometimes the spaces just disappear.

Who says they sail off to an adventure. I would like a zeppelin style air balloon.

Not really sure what the best solution to this problem is... what I do know is that I currently have over twenty generals in my star menu that have nowhere to land because most of the landing spots on my island are taken up by my Marshalls... so anything that would help solve that gets a +1 from me!

i too would like to see something off island , ship or floating tavern or something. It should have it own interface to select generals, allocate troops.

bb obviously didn't allow for this many gens when the game was launched but I have an easy fix. How about a building for all the gens to sit in when they get home? they could call it something like "barracks", oh hang on a min....... c'mon bb, u know it makes sense. and can u do the same for those lame pvp gens I bought and never ever use? they just clog up the star menu like most other stuff :)

Check out..

Ok, so i'm not asking for BB to give general a designated spot on land :), i'm suggesting for BB to copy a docked ship paste it at the south west corner of the map, draw a dock there. And make that ship a general's camp. Do the same on adventures, put a ship or two at each spawnpoint without the dock, but with 1 or 2 boats on shoreline where troops landed.

Now you can even create animation such as general leaving ship via dock and puting up a regular camp, and when he's done packing up the regular camp and rather then (disapearing on adventures) or going to storehouse and then using teleporter to adventure, he could walk back to ship get on it, drop sails ( 20s like clearing or putting up a camp ) and then the ships makes wave towards exit.

Among many rplys a great idea emerged.

I would prefer it if Generals simply could have 1 building (could be seaborn) where they all reside rather than occupying space and traveling to/from storehouses. So yes, agreed.

I wouldn't mind having Tavern given such a function.

So feel free of adding +1 to tavern :)

A couple of ideas: For beginners, although there is the archive, the forum and friends I remember being shy of not looking like an idiot. One of the hardest things to master is production chains. Why not have two new characters? The town crier who comes on rings a bell and shouts "Oyez" to alert a new player that there is a problem. The player can then try and figure it out or go and consult the Wise Woman, where for a fee of coins/wood/meat whatever, they get a cryptic clue "Look you to the woodsmen" or somesuch. For more experienced players, we all evolve from basic generals to hopefully Field Marshalls, could we have some kind of trade up where for say 4 generals you could get a battle experienced general and so on?
