Hi Guys,

I was playing the game all ok. But yesterday, I when I went to play "game now" button. I get the white screen of death and nothing happens.

I have tried IE, Chrome and Firefox. All the same issue.

I have uninstalled and re-installed adobe flash player 12. Still the same issue.

Can anyone help please.

Running version 9 of IE, 26 of Firefox and the latest Chrome!!

Please help.

guys make sure u got the latest flash upgrade i kept getting botted then chat went on a mad one till i updated -- very important

I'm on a MacBook Air, latest OSX with all updates using Chrome (have also tried Safari) which are both up-to-date, but the game doesn't go past this screen.

What do I do?!

Hi.

I am not very sure, but probably problem is with your browser plugins, Adobe and Flash. It is best to check if your plugins are up to date.

In Mozilla Firefox browser, they are located under Tools->Add-ons menu, and further there Plugins tab.

My browser settings are Adobe Acrobat 11.0.6.70 - Always Activate, and further there is link "Check to see if your plugins are up to date", and there it is possible to check if your Shockwave Flash and Adobe Acrobat are up to date, and update them if necessary.

Other browsers may have different menu names.

Everything appears to be up to date (Chrome keeps Flash up-to-date, but I have double-checked anyway).

Still not working and nothing mentioned about this problem anywhere.

Is anyone else having problems logging into the game?

I press the 'Play Now' button and all I get is a blue page using FireFox and a white page using Internet Explorer.

The homepage was real slow to load too.

Same, had to refresh when swapping between adventure zones because it locked up, now getting back in is really slow.

Hi i have a problem, my settlers wont load to the end, they stop at one point every time diferent and thats all. i restarted comp, reinstaled firefok, try diferent browser but nothing, cann you please help me with some advice ?

Hello,

When I push the Play button I cannot open the game.
I get the message: " unable to load a data file; delete your browser cache and trie again.
I am playing on a Imac and the browser is safari. I have delete cookies and refreshed /deleted cache.
I'v installed the latest flash player.
Last night it was working fine; I'm a level 50 and been playing a long time now, so it would be a
pity to loose all the money I spend; just activated year premium.
I' ve looked at the FAQ and bugs session, but can' t find anything; also on my air book the same problem.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Same problem here on macbook with safari but also firefox doesnt work. Yesterday everything worked fine.

Playing from a laptop and using google chrome, but having the same issue. Yesterday everything was working normally, and since this morning I keep getting that same message after 5 min of playing "client was unable to load data file, please clear cache and try again".

Well clearing the cache allows me to get back into the game, but after 5 min of playing I start to see buildings not loading on the map and a few seconds later the message pops up again. Its no fun playing this game if I have to clear cache every 5 min

oh and yes, have all the latest software updates on the laptop, and seeing that I am not the only one with this problem since this morning, I am guessing BB has changed something for the worse overnight.

Any Mod with some connections able to help out?

Last night at 3.00 CET , the new settlers day started, I got a new quest, log-in bonus and even a new set of collectibles.
needing to buff a friend, I visited him, but his Island didnt load completely, so i returned to my own Island, wich also had problems loading.
I decided to refresh because i did want to pick up some collectibles before going to bed.

Sadly I couldnt get in again, been trying everything, changing browser, cleaning cache and history, the whole ritual...

Sadly it didnt work, so i went to bed hoping it would be better after waking up this morning.
But it didnt, not on IE or on FF, not after cleaning cache, nothing seems to work.
Sometimes i get a grey screen, where nothing loads, sometimes the game starts loading but stops at the beginning of the bar, sometimes it loads till the end of the bar, but never it starts my Island :(

I did do this (not for the first time since this started), but again it didnt work.
I hope it get fixed soon, cause now all mines, wells and fields will exhauste, and my complete goldchain runs unbuffed :(

i had the same problem.

however i was able log on my dutch acc with IE.
and just recently i am play again here with firefox.

havent tried chrome yet again.

The login site, or homepage is the same for all servers. I see nothing wrong with it now. Do you still have this problem?

Seeing that you are posting in the forum, I expect that you logged in fine and that the problem lies with loading the game. There was the uplay server maintenance yesterday, not a game update. You couldn't login during that maintenance, but if you were logged in before the maintenance started you could continue playing the game.

So assuming that the game doesn't load for you, where does it stop loading? Can you provide a screenshot, or a detailed description?

Hello,

after some fiddling around it seems that my provider's DNS server cannot resolve static14.cdn.ubi.com
Not much I can do about that I suppose ...

You could try the steps listed here (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/27696-Connection-Failed?p=253583&viewfull=1#post253583) to see if it's the dns cache of your local computer that is causing the issue (instead of your provider) .

Lox - google it, there are forums about it online, but one suggestion that appeared to work was this:

"You should try clearing your Internet data such as cache and cookies first, then flush your DNS and reset your TCP stack"

after you have logged into the game the screen of my computer remains completely white: I tried to do a bit of cleaning but the situation has not changed ... it may be your problem??:confused:

I too can't get in and get a similar message, "The client cannot load a data file. Please clear cache of your browser and try again." I had bought gems also, but was on at the time. Today, however, I can log in but the "play" file will not load. I have received two messages from support and followed their instructions with no luck.

Try another browser (preferably one you haven't used before) and see if you can load the game in there

I can't get in either and get the message, The client cannot load a data file. Please clear cache of your browser and try again.

I have and flushed dns and have tried on a different browser, all without luck. Any ideas what else i can try please?

I did try another browser and the dns flush, but I don't know what reset TCP stack means so I haven't done that.

A simple "refresh page" will often solve this (having a white screen).

these days, I got disconnected : connection lost to sever. every 10 min..
playing this game is a pain in the.. i spend more time clearing cache and DNS than playing..
if i did not buy gems. i would definitely stop wasting my time.. when i started in January i would get disconnected once every hour.. no it is once every 10 min.. awfull..
i am afraid to start adventure now..
today i cannot even pass the tip of the day window.. and get connection lost..

There has been some instability these last couple of days due to some server adjustments. It is being worked on, but please continue to report any issues you might experience (frequent disconnects, lag). The MODs have been instructed to inform me (day or night) if any major issues occur in order for me to contact the right people and get everything fixed, so please report issues as they are happening.

What happens with the game? No chance to load. An white screen appears after pressing PLAY. I am using Mozilla, I cleared the cashe and the history, I tryed with IE too, I checked my PC for viruses, even I stoped some preocesses and restarted Windows several times...
Last night I just started an adventure and I was kicked out of the game. Will I loose the adventure?

It's not playable this morning. Every time you try to load a build queue, add something to the provision house, change from home to adventure screen it just sits with a never ending egg timer and "refresh" takes about 6 attempts before you can get past the "Tip of the Day" bit. Really not happy as not only is the adventure clock running but so is premium time.
