:mad: So Im really enjoying this event BUT....one golem so far and then no more. Got a new quest for the Golem and Guess what? NO [ removed ] GOLEM :mad:. So BB what is going on? Why are we not getting any golems? Is northisle to good at destroying them? Tell me what is the problem with the Golems?:confused:

After the Golem is killed, the next one will show up on the home island after two days.
Based on info I've heard from the german servers who started the event before us the golems are due to spawn at 3am BST Sunday (19/10/13) morning.
I have received the secon event quest, but the golem don't appear! Why? As can I kill the golem if the Golem is not in my Island?

I also have the new quest as it HAS BEEN 2 DAYS It took some maneuvering but you can see the island on the corner i have NO GOLEM :(
not impressed since i have 70 sets of marbles/ropes and buckets ready to kill as many of these things as i can

Just a thought as BB dont work weekends i guess we will be getting compensation for the lost ones we cant kill.

Yes, I have waited the prerequisite 2 days and I have the quest to kill the second golem. Other people who killed the golem approximately when I did have long had theirs appear and killed the second one.

i have waited the allotted time between golems, but none. Have had one, when others have had 2-3. i have done the usual things such as clearing both the browser and flash caches and still no golem. I have also noticed that this new quest is an individual one, not a settlers world quest. Seems to me that there are few things that dont add up at all in this event. Sadly its making me feel like leaving TSO, as Im sick of the favouritism shown to the germans and also nothing being done about fixing problems with events such as this and others in the past before putting them on the live server. Its getting beyond reasonable to my way of thinking. You get told one thing, then it gets changed, but as usual no forewarning or telling us exactly how its going to work. Love to know how businesses can run profitably when doing this.
Same problem here. I've got the 'More Golems' quest but no actual golem.

There may be some delay from getting the golem quest to getting the golem to appear - wondering if this is linked to the time your first golem was destroyed?

The general idear is that your quest and golem should apear 48 hours after you killed your last one, but the 48 hours seams to be a little off
patence is the way forward, hopefuly the quest may be sorted after tonights reset
Please remember that BB doesn't work at weekends, so we can all wait till tomorrow to sent a ticket to suport as to not overflow there mail box
A few wise words from other players
we are still recieving information as the day wakes up
guys, golems take time to recover, not everyone receives a new golem when they receive the quest, just give it some time to resolve itself
48 hours after the last kill is the general opinion, but some people have reported him being late. So we say APPROX 48 hours with no fixed timer

Me too i have no Golem but have Quest. What is going on BB? i make all the things to kill golem for what reason if the golem doesnt turn up grrrrrr.
i have the same problem no golem in my island only the quest and the hae past over 55 hours since first golem killed
Once again BB have not properly tested their code, changed it since its brief time on the test server and bugs are on the live game.
Sadly this event is a big disappointment so far and i'm not the only one that feels this way. A repeat of last years event would have been more fun.
I have an account on one of the US servers, and even though I killed the golem there about 8 hours later than on Sandycove I have already got a new golem on my island there.
On Sandycove I have got the quest for another golem, but the golem itself is still missing. Definately a bug.

those who havent received the 2nd golems.... how many of you have buildings upgrading? Just an idea that may be contributing to the lack of a re-spawn....

Maybe somebody decided to help out and killed that golem for you? I have heared something about an bug, that if someone else kills your golem before you accept the quest you won't get anything for it. :(

He got and killed the 2nd golem I still dont have one. Pathetic organisation; some BB support staff should be working the 1st weekend of the event. I for one will never be investing real money in this game as the company clearly dont care less about the partcipants.

Ok, people, all calm down, I am not member of staff but I think that I can help you all.
You need to remember that this game is built over Flash, and Flash has its own issues (a lot less than years ago, but still a few), and those issues will seem to be game bugs.
Successive steps to take:
1) Basic action, that all know: reload and see if it works (fixes games code issues and lag issues).
2) More advanced: clear the cache (both browser and Flash own cache if you know how), then restart the browser; this solves some of Flash-related issues.
3) Drastic action: same as 2, but before restarting the browser shut down the computer as well; the simplified explanation is that this solves some issues deriving from Windows (or other operating system) own cache and how it interacts with the applications; I have seen this a few time to be necessary with some Flash issues.
Important for step 3:
- It MUST be a shutdown, NOT just a restart.
- it MUST be done, some people apparently considered it optional, did not do it, and told me within 5 seconds that they had done it... which is how I caught it since it would take a few minutes.
I have never found a case yet of a Flash based game issue (other than an actual bug, bur that is not the case here or all would have it) which was not solved by option 3.
Update: it appears that this does work for some people, but not for all; which suggests that there may be 2 causes for it, 1 from Flash, and 1 from the game itself.

Same as others. Quest "more golems" received but no golem.
same here =( Mile of rope, whole lakes worth of buckets and more marbles than the British museum but no sign of the golem - think I must've scared him off

Then there are 2 separate issues causing the problem, since that works for some people, and worked for all I got through it step by step before I posted here.
i received my 2nd golem as did 3/4 others in the guild,others got the quest but no golem to kill,confusing and annoying,we have all been stock piling resources to kill this thing and now nada,zip,zilch? Whats going on BB?
@ Fafhred tried all three solutions, but sadly no Golem.

i am in a new zealand guild. But im from uk thay got there respawn at 3:00 am rest time but when i logged on there was no golem for me .
so its ether a bug for the uk or someone has killed it when i was sleeping and cant get the quest complete . If that is the case does that mean that the next respawn will be lvl3 instead of the lvl2 that I should of had .

I have the same problem, I have the quest but no golem. Clearing my cache doesn´t change a thing...
I've had the second on Sandycove all day, but nothing on Newfoundland or Northisle. I fiddled with clearing things, relogging and turning things off many hours ago and nothing changed but out of absolutely *nowhere* in the past 20 minutes the missing two have appeared with their quests. So they are out there, somewhere.

I reported the issue to support also yesterday with no answer as yet to the issue, I wonder if someone did come along and kill my Golem without me knowing, which left the quest item in Limbo in my Quest Book, also tried a clean computer with still he same issue and people visiting also can't see the Golem.

it is linked but we should only be waiting for 48 hour after the defeat of the golem. i'm waiting,too it has been more then 60 hours by now
same here killed my last golum on the 17th when the event lauched and still no golum(20th) afraid BB made a booboo again like on every event.

Sadly I am in exactly the same position, open quest, no golem and no 20 pumpkins! Tried all the advice given but still no golem.
After being booted yesterday with the dreaded`server zone error', my second Golem was waiting for me this morning, but he was still level 1 in resources needed to kill him but he did yield 20 pumpkins. ( wouldn't usually complain about things being easier, but if they are all this easy what on earth am I going to do with the ::mountain:: of marbles, ropes and water I've got made :confused::confused::o )

Have tried all the suggestions above. Cleared cashe restarted computer, login and out and it has been 3 days since I killed the first golem. I'm a patient man and hopefully they will get this sorted quickly.
I must agree, with earlier posts about the favourtism shown to the German servers is not good. They need to be fair. They have done it on other events and with the buying of Gems.

This is really wierd.
I play on the same lappy with my husband. We killed the 1st golem 3 days ago.
He killed his 2nd yesterday and my still hasnt showed up... I received the quest today.
Furthermore, we just tried the clear cache/cookies/shutdown trick and it didn't worked.
To add we have all the necessary things updated to latest versions (flash/java etc.)
This info might be useful as it says that this is the problem with the server and not user's computers.

My wife sits next to me and plays TSO as well. She got the first Golem, and the quest for the second, but it hasn't appeard. Following the steps earlier in this tread posted by Fafhred, did not help. Now I have tried tol log her on my pc, using Safari/Ie/opera/Firefox/Google but to no wain. It surely has to be a game issue

All of the above is rubbish. It is probably player level or gem purchasing related. My son (Level29/Has bought no gems) plays in the same house, on the same, server and even on the same computer as me (Level 46/Has bought gems). He got no golem, I did. He got no pumpkins this weekend, I did.
BB has messed up somewhere and needs to get this sorted 1st thing tomorrow (Mon 20th October) They need to auto-kill the 2nd golem for those who didn t get one and end the quest for them so they get the pumpkins due to them this weekend. That way all players are back on an even situation bar a few bits of marble, wheat and water.

It doesn't seem to be related. I am on four days, I think, since the start of the event. I killed the first Golem within a few hours of the event starting. I know people who killed their first after me, and have received and killed their second already.

Had all mine, but varying results from server to server.
On German, 2nd Golem took 3 days to appear. On French, he appeared on 2nd day, well inside the 48 hours from killing the 3rd one, but like germans, appeared at the 3am rollover time.
On all 3 UK servers, they appeared half way through 2nd day, not at 3am but early evening.

I cancelled the quest in the hope that it would advance or respawn, but to no avail. Hopefully I will still be able to get the next golem quest tomorrow (after 2 days of waiting after the cancel)

I have also had no Golem spawn for quite some time now. Those of us that are experiencing this bug are missing out on valuable time and potentially pumpkins. I hope we are re compensated.
yup the daily quest time has kicked over again and still nothing but the quest in my quest menu. I'm thinking cancelling it may reset and give me the golem later but afraid if i cancel it i wont get any compensation that may flow from not getting the golem

It has been 4 days since I killed my first Golem (server based), yet the second Golem won't reappear.
I can't see how clearing the Cache will work as it is not a Flash issue but a game issue, if someone else who have no issues with golems can visit your island and not see him also, points towards that something messed up with the game code rather than the browser/flash client side. I did however try clearing the history cache etc etc. and also using a totally different clean PC with no luck. Worth trying different things with the game mechanics though as obviously something can spark him into life.
hopefully BB will fetch us a solution soon :)

Day 5 - should have my third Golem today.
BUT WAIT, I never got Golem #2, although the More Golems quest has been active since Saturday morning.
So now I'm missing 20 (Golem #2) plus 30 (Golem #3) pumpkins. But I've every confidence that I'll miss more before it's fixed.

This is not fair to those of us who this is not appearing for as we're missing out on getting the pumpkins. I'm very rapidly getting to the point of wanting to not bother playing anymore
well the thing is...the game is not all based on pumpkins. However if there is an event going on..the expectancy would be for it to actually work. And the golem thing is a big part of the event..how are we even suppose to get enough pumpkins only from fields?

No golem or quest here so far today either.
What concerns me is that BB will not be able to track those having the respawn problems and therefore cannot compensate those affected. This is looking very bad indeed. If players miss a couple of golems due to the bug, that's quite a lot of pumpkins missed out on - 50 each time.
I like this game because it just proves that German are not that efficient :p
Totally agree with bob lurker, just dont understand how on earth some people have them and others do not, makes no sense, btw im one that doesnt have one either

A union spokesperson commented that being pelted with marbles, pulled over with ropes and then soaked in water was deemed working in a hazardous environment and warranted a pay rise. The employers, BB put out a statement that they were looking into contract arrangements, and that the holiday entitlement of 49 weeks were more than adequate for pixels in the gaming environment, and that if they were not already super heated rock giants, they would have been fired. They also hinted to warn other pixel union members as what will happen to other pixels failing to toe the line while working for BB, by pointing to those in the mountain, rocks and rubble department who have now been picketing on players islands for a couple of years now in a dispute over repeat appearances fees, and what was in the pipeline in resolving that dispute.;)

Mine turned up, but the points I made hold true for those still affected by this bug. I'd strongly suggest that anyone not getting their golem every 2 days lodges a ticket with support so that you can claim some pumpkins back later.

If you look at the homepage our "instance" (language version) of three servers is still called "European English" and bears the EU flag. Originally it was UK specific and is often referred to that way now but many people think of it of it as generally EU (with the many language channels and all) so I included both. Different instances do get updates with Maintenance on different days, that's standard.

Active golem quest, but no golem. Congratulation BB!!! We need a little, simple, funny halloween event, but you can't make it! Golem quest slowly, pumpkins collection is crap (only 1-2 pumpkins per day), too short event quest.... Need you few idea for a normal event? Read your players comment, and realising it in the game. I think players idea better than your idea many times.

Hi all, i have the same problem, event quest but no Golem. Sent mail to support and awaiting response.
still nor 2nd when i know people have killed their 3rd, i think they need to limit the number to 10 golums and just have them spawn one after the other so we have time to kill them once the bug is fixed.
I have no problems with killing them to earn my pumpkins, but i'm mostly concerned about not having enough time to do it now if we get them back and they respawn at the same rate.

lol They have not got enough golems to go around so they made up this "competition" in order to get the players to make their OWN golems out of paper and plasterscene lol

Well its day 5 and still no second golem, this is really getting more than frustrating now. These sorts of things should be fixed when on the test server and NOT put on the live server until its 100% stable... this is just over the top and puts people off doing events...sad sad sad and a -70 for the lack of care taken to fix any bugs

I don't think it matters much now... those of us who haven't had our 2nd Golems are never going to catch up :( And what makes it worse for me is I have used lots of resources and rabbit buffs to make tons of buffs to kill the stupid things :)
a lot of people are on their 3rd golem now. very sad that the 2nd hasn't even spawned yet and people are already killing their 3rd and waiting for their 4th to spawn
The saddest thing is the lack of response from anyone, ok they have acknowledged that there's a problem, but little else, no timescales for everything to put right etc.
The most likely thing to happen is that they will extend the time of the event to allow for everyone to do it.
At any rate, the 5th golem requires so much resources that by my calculations they are currently worth more than the value of the reward (on my server), therefore killing it is pointless.
Now i am missing a golem! I'm hoping it will spawn during today...
well at rate golems are appearing now, extending the event wouldn't really make a difference. Then there would just be more days where a golem doesn't show up on his appointment.
The 5th one is not the last golem. If people enjoy fighting golems, more should show up but they dont increase in power anymore. I'm not sure I even want to kill #5, it's a lot of resources, and I think the click-quotum will be reached before the golum would be dead. (oh something with *less clicks please*)
Anyway, a post on the login-screen, or an ingame mail with an update would be a good idea when so many people are effected and wondering what is going on. It's the same old "we are aware of the problem" again though. Yeah they're also discussing the colour of the whisper for several months (to name just 1 topic they fail to answer, let alone fix). So not much hope for real information. And it could very well be they just dont know whats going on, why it is not working for a part of the settlers.
But the good news: It keeps the developers busy. It's a relative harmless bugs, and they cant work on new ones now :)
Just an idea but what about the developers posting a message on the login screen, or send an ingame mail? help is flooded by questions about the disappearing golums, support doesn't know whats going on.... is it really that hard to realize a little communication would be lots easier?
"Sorry, we made a mistake. We dont know yet what causes some golems to stay away. We're trying to locate the problem, and when we found the bug we can work on a fix. At the moment we cant tell you when everything will be working as intended, but we're doing all we can to give everyone a happy Halloween event. There, it's really not that hard to do. This morning I was sad my settlers still hadn't learned to rebuild fields, although I gave them enough schools and education. But it looks trying to learn the developers some very basic communication skills is just as hopeless.

The best fix they can give now is to remove the 2 day wait, which should never have been put in place. People should be allowed to progress at their own pace.

Well perhaps BB would like to answer this question.
Since the testing phase for the golems on the test platform was an epic fail and therefore it could reasonably be expected that the deployment to the live servers would also be a fail - BB having decided to deploy the "dodgy" code anyway. In taking that decision, did they not think it appropriate to specifically gear up to provide a rapid "fix" for code that was almost certain to fail?
If not, what part of the total failure of the deployment to the test server convinced BB that the deployment to the live server would go without glitch?
I think its called "crossing your fingers, hope it works, and if all else fails, it will go wrong on the weekend when we don't work anyway" ...

So....
Long story short, at close of play on the 4th day of the issue, and 2nd day working on the issue, we still have no idea when a fix is expected to be forthcoming, or in fact IF a fix is expected to be forthcoming.
Would it not be possible to get a Forum Moderator to close off this thread since it is giving the 188 posters and 8279 viewers the misguided impression that BB might do something about it.
I appreciate how unsatisfactory that will be, but at least we will all be able to move on :)

Doesn't say a great deal but the way I read it the suggestion is BB have to implement 2 patches to fix the problem with the last patch being active on Thursday morning. So a whole week of lost Golum slaughtering for some people but more importantly why oh why oh why did BB release the code to start with when the feedback from tsotesting was that the code was more buggy than a bug zoo.
Maybe they should just rename tsotesting to 'that place we want you to visit and get excited about all the new stuff you can buy with the free gems we give you in the hope that you then spend loads more real money on the real test environment (ie production environment) that is so laggy that its pretty unusable....'

wow just came here after having new quest - kill golem, my 1st 2 golems showed up fine, but this time there is no golem to kill!
anyhow I guess i can wait till tomorrow (fix date) and prey the golem has not run havoc on my island and killed my settlers :D

The following steps should bring your golem:
Log out
Wait half an hour (so your session is closed on the server)
Clear cache while waiting (see http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/25422-HOWTO-Delete-your-browsing-history-clear-cookies)
Log in again.
If you still don't see your golem then let Support know.

I'm sure you share al your info with us. I'm not blaming you or the support guys. Problem is: the developers dont share their information.
Why dont make sure everyone has good information? Players were wondering what was going on, help and most likely support were flooded by questions. And "we're aware and working on it" oooh come on. You're aware of the whisper troubles too, that's BB-code for "it can take ages".
The developers have to do better. If they havent found the problem yet, that is information for us too. Then we know its probably going to take a bit. So once again: I'm not asking for miracles or an immediate fix. I do ask for better updates.
And if you're so happy with the communication, explain this:

So people were happily anticipating Halloween. The fix might need a kickstart, but.... ah why bother telling people. Just post in in chat, and somewhere on the forum. Lots of people are not going to find it there. Why not post on the login-screen, or an ingame-message? It is a widespread problem, and lots of players are looking forward to fighting golems.
The problem is deep within BB, people dont realise players deserve updates and want to be talked to in a serious way. Not the "you'll find out when it's ready"-method. We want to know what the progress is with problems, what we can expect.

Update on my previous thread ... sorry but this is a total farce. The logging out, clearing the cache bit seems to indicate you think it's something clashing between our 'end' and yours but that's an obvious pile of tosh (was thinking of something else but guessed you'd probably censor me)! My daughter's golem was due after mine so she asked me to log into her account and check while she couldnt get onto a computer. So I log out of my account, dont change browser, dont clear cache, dont change computer's, just log in with her details and voila, her golem is there with no problems. So I've logged out and gone back to my own account and mine still isnt there.
Is this not telling you that it's nothing to do with us, our browsers or caches etc? It has to be to do with you and I'm really fed up with the constant suggestions that we need to make changes instead of you!
I have to agree, while it is the norm to clear cache, delete history etc etc this has been nothing to do with the client side guys, it is that obvious !
I guess mine will never appear now as out of frustration I have removed the quest just to see if it re-appears

I had no problems with golems till today. Till the wonderful "bug fix" that has been done last night. So now, even more people don't have the golems. Please fix the thing, it's so frustrating for us.
When did you last kill your Golem?
My first Golem was killed on Thursday by a fellow guild member.
It re-appeared Thursday when I logged in at the end of the afternoon, when I got home from work.
That is the last time I have seen a Golem on my Island.
I found my 3th Golem this morning.

The final fix for the Golem re-spawn issue will be implemented during the maintenance that will take place on the 24th of October.
Golem issues should not continue after tomorrow's usual maintenance period.

the additional maintenance post says normal maintenance will introduce the FINAL fix. Which suggests the extra maintenance should already bring a temporary fix.
It's just not clear what the extra maintenance should do. They could have been a bit more clear, and just stated what the 1st part was supposed to do. Was it supposed to bring back golems or not? Or after the suggested log out, wait half an hour, log in-method, explained by BB_Ravel? It's all a lot of guessing and hocus pocus.
The info is just not there Alpaca. What types of users? Smart ones and dumb ones? Skinny and fat users? It's not mentioned at all in the additonal maintenance post.

Also, not sure if this was bug related or not, pumpkins have also appeared as collectables on my island for the first time.
I've had three groups/points of pumpkins in my first login in addition to a nice big golem.

Referring to Prometheos post: Why isn't this information being made more available, more clearly. Why isn't this an 'announcement' at least in that section of the forum (where they are announcing the newest test server information).
Also, is there talk of compensation? My conversations with support indicated this wasn't in the plans. Why would that be?

I guess I am out of Luck then, I did end up deleting the Quest in frustration though, not seen a Golem since Day 1
I have deleted the quest too, after the golem had not appeared for 3 days after the quest appeared in logbook, hoping the chain would advance. But no golems have spawned since the first one. Wasted a lot of resources already on making marbles, ropes and such. Is there a way to convert them back to marble, wheat and water?
My Golem was appearing fine until the maintenances and now he doesn't show up at all :(

Q: Why do I still not have a golem after the maintenance?
A: The 48 hour countdown starts after you accept the Golem quest reward, not after you defeat the Golem on your island.

Honestly, this new information does not address the issues presented in this forum.
1) Golems still not having reappeared (well after 48 hours of the first quest) - Wendel, Bosko
2) Golems have stopped appearing after Maint - Ninth
It also assumes, rather oddly, that all people now with a problem have managed to defeat the Golem but failed to immediately finish the quest. How often does that occur? It is a standard thing to do in adventures and with the collectibles to 'complete' quests (as well as the daily and guild quests) and there is a bright blue reminder to do so. Are there a lot of people that have significant time lags between defeating Golems and accepting the reward?
Finally, is there a discussion of compensation for this bug? Support indicated that such a discussion would happen after the issue was resolved (in order to assess proper compensation). If the issue is not resolved as Alpaca claims, is compensation forthcoming?

I think i have only had one Golem since the event started and now i don't even have the quest.
Personally my opinion is that its a waste of resources because the amount of marble,wheat and water you need is too much for the reward at the end and now because of this bug i have a fair amount of the Golem bashing items in my star menu that i can't use.

Maybe it will be fixed in time for christmas......

I have posted once before to say no golem after first one. Sadly after all advice and maintenance etc I still have not had another golem. I have not been given the opportunity to collect the extra pumpkins which with my maximum pumpkin fields would have allowed me the opportunity to purchase the grim reaper. Honestly I have given up with the whole thing. I continue to enjoy the economics and adventure side but I will take a holiday from the game during the next and any further events. A very frustrated player - feedback to players could have been better in my opinion.

Yes three times in total last one after the Two stage Bug Fix, with no reply other than " we will pass this one onto our Devs " I have given up now, sorry but I now understand why people do complain so much even if most of it is just noise in the actual facts they find it is the only way to be heard !

and as usual, the response by BB is to give the whole server compensation for the 'mishap'. In a Thesauras, mishap reads to incompetent if refering to BB.
So you had no bug and had the chance to gain more pumpkins than those with the bug, but you get 50 pumpkins anyway. That is just pathetic.
How about specifically recompensing those that were impacted rather than everyone. As usual, too many people in this game benefit at the expense of others.

cost the bug from last night seems to have moved onto sandycove too. i signed in this morning thinking there would be a good explanation, but nothing, all swept under the carpet. great customer relations
should`ve had the 4th Golem this morning, it didn`t pop in, I assume all golems went on week-end
I've the same problem. I've got the second quest but no golem and now neither quest nor golem..
Does anybody knows how many more golems will come?
One every 48hrs after killing the last and collecting rewards till the event ends on 14th. November
