View Full Version : I do ask myself how the game developers think.

The next game update will release a Provision House 2 that will allow the users to create 1250 map fragments for 5000 simple paper, 3750 intermediate and 1000 nibs. That is basicially nothing and the result is simple.

People may use the map fragments to do 60k exp Suprise attack adventures which almost no troop loss at all. Easy way to just rush this game to max level without having to deal with everything inbetween.
Devalue alot of resources and adventures alike (Example: RB, BK, Island of the pirates)
Make the adventure search including the science system completly neglectable. Why would people buy the Savage scouts unless for Treasure search?

I can go in much deeper but i hope you people can read behind the lines, and how the game will be affected from theese changes. Am i the only one that is worried about theese changes?

Items being totally devalued with the release of an update or new building does happen a lot as games change over time, and this is just another example of it.
I expect the employee of the month buff to be very popular too, which will generate even more wealth into the game.
Some will take full advantage, others will not. Only time will tell.

The 3x buff seems interesting together with most the added content, it will change alot. However i'm deeply worried about this particular change because it ruins alot of good aspects of this game. Instead of adding new diversity to the game it actually removes more. Byebye to having to invest resouces to level up and using the find adventure search and its skill tree.

Development of a game is not the only thing to affect prices. Age of server, greed, perceived value as opposed to true value and availability are just some of the factors which also have an effect. In any properly balanced production chain you will mostly have just a little bit more than your needs require. Also things stand if you play the game long enough your science buildings will become obsolete. On a very old server it is conceivable that there will be no demand for the output of your science buildings. Conversion to map frags at least in that case will allow you to do something with them. This also insulates you from those greedy sellers if you should have a spell where your explorers are being too successful in returning with adventures.

This claim that this will flood the market is absolute waffle. If you believe this you may have seen that you can now make map fragments but have not bothered to give any thought about how fast you can supply the raw resources needed to do so. A level 3 simple paper mill will produce enough for about 60 map frags a day, this make the statement that 5000 simple paper is a nothing, nothing more than a bald faced lie. Most players are going to be too busy converting into books, I would go as far as to say that MF making is something which at best will produce 1 MF over a period of days.

If you are really bothered about this please then point me to your posts complaining about how explorers bringing back more MF is a problem, a ability which for most players produces more MF than they are ever likely to see from the RPH.

Like most things, they will probably tweak the production costs again before setting this live.
Let's just hope they don't make it end up costing 10gc to make each frag

It was 100 advance paper (except the simple and int. paper) when the xmas event started at testing server, which is more reasonable imo but they changed it afterwards to 40 nibs instead =/ I hope we won't end up with 10 water.

Tripi, they have already made their final tweaks, the game version is already live on the polish servers. Guess the next step is to create 10x 24h buffs from water and a extra premium account that give 10x exp and loot. And the argument to defend it would be that we will adapt to it like everything else.

I think it's a good idea. You will be able to make larger amounts for fish and meat deposits. Less click fest which is good and we could use even more of. You can use some of your excess paper and nibs for something useful. Only thing i don't like about it is the 3x buff. I would rather have a longer lasting 2x buff, but I'll take it. It costs a lot and would therefore not be very useful for anything but highly upgraded buildings and production lines that uses rare raw material, but it's better than having to hunt down cauldrons for those collectible buffs.

anyone want to predict if the map fragments will be worth more or less than gold coins in lets say 2 months? :)
