View Full Version : A moment of stupidity...
If others can learn from my mistakes, then I'm happy to share them...
The simulator said to use 120R 2M 128E
I read it as 120R 2M 128A
Guard dogs got first attack... Ouch!

I can't tell you how many times I have done something similar. Sent cavalry instead of elites, recruits instead of militia. I like to think I check, double check, then check again, yet it happens when I least expect it and usually when I don't have time to sort it :p

Oh, so nice. :S I feel your pain. And what about that after a triple check, the troops are well, but sent to another camp?

Or you forget to click "ok" and sent the wrong troops?
Or sent another general?
Been there, done that.
::R::R + ::M::M + ::S::S + ::E::E + ::B::B + ::LB::LB + ::A:: XB + ::K:: K + ::C::C in guides FTW! :cool:
I completely agree, SmurfAsH!
Not only should all guides have XB instead of A for Crossbowmen, but having the icon too makes for far fewer mistakes...

Why would you put them in that order?

I put them in that order because of the role they're having.. Melee, range and firststrike.

OK, but if I'm well, cannoneer is a last strike... :)
Well, this is just about setting up your army so no need to mind all combat aspects.. =P
Did something similar - also on BLT only sent Xbows instead of cannon - the resultant slaughter also extended to all the blocking generals - must have lost about 600 high value troops in one go.

My point is, it is confusing and is a cause of mistakes. Put them in the guide similar to how the general should be loaded out.

Well, a row is 1 dimensional. That table is 2 dimensional. I'm not reading that table like a book. I guess most players do neither.
By putting in icons you'll check for them. By sorting them in roles, you'll easier make sure you would't miss any.

No, that's not how a decent interface works.
And a bad interface creates mistakes.
Well, I can just make a guide. Not change the interface.
Do you suggest guide-makers should screenshot their army-setup for each and every attack? That would give more info than needed - bigger risk to create mistakes.
Have you ever played Memory? It's much easier to look for matching pictures than matching letters. Using icons would be enough for me.
thats the kind of confusion you get when people are just to lazy to type in the actual word and resort to confusing shortcuts
ow ye, that sort of mistakes i know soo very well.
