View Full Version : Deposits Deleted When Mining Plot Removed

Maybe there is a lame reason for this but I've noticed that, whenever I have put down a mining plot to build a mine, but don't have enough resources to do so or want to cancel, a shaffold mechanic deletes the deposit altogether. Why is that

So that if your explorer doesn't find a fast copper mine right away, you can remove the deposit and start over until he gets it right? Dunno, but I hope BB won't "correct" it.

As the geologist's skills "Two in One" always give extra deposits with tha base amount of resources, despite also having the bigger deposit skills, I rather have it like this to be able to remove those "extra deposits". (No, I don't want to change setups on my geologist unless I would get non-penalizing option for that.)

I've actually found the current setup useful when placing a Endless Copper Mine. It really needs to be placed on a deposit that has been found by a geologist with the "Quality Copper Mineshafts" skill, as it then produces double the output. Of course, a geologist with the skill will only find a mine with this skill 45% of the time, and you want to place your Endless Copper Mine on the one copper deposit closest to a Storehouse.

This means you can sent your geologist 2 or 3 times, find a deposit, and then 'delete' the deposit (add a copper mine to the bottom of your build queue, and cancel it) to search for it again, until that one deposit has the required skill attached.

Useful even if you're not trying to place an endless mine. If I've got time, I often try to get the full set of 6 fast copper mines going.

It helps also if you don't want to build any mines but only need the surplus.
