View Full Version : Settlere missing and no one produced
This might help to understand what happened:
http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/27617-INFO-No-new-settlers-population-count
After today's update pop is zero, no new settler is producing, adding settlers from star has no effect.
Population is 1833/3030, and the army counts 1540. That means it should be around 300 free settlers, but the count shows 0 and one of copper mines is not functional because there is no free settlers
Same here too. I just wonder what will happen in 8 minutes, if barracks still get me more recruits or not.
edit. recruits are coming out of barracks atleast, but naturally cannot add more queue.
Here is the same, counting for produce new settler:

But no new settler added:

Just adding to the list .......same . Some new buildings aren't being worked after built, copper mines seem to work along with marble.

Same situation here, got a lot of pictures taken but since I am not the only one having this problem I wont post them.
I even put 25 settlers from the provision house and they didn't get added, the item just disapeared from the star-menu....
I have had this problem for around 10 hours

m2 :(. Last night before maintenance i had around 80 spare settlers and everything build. Today after maintenance many wells and mines need rebuilding, but i have no availiable settlers
They wanted fix bug with negative amount of working settlers (I had -83 yesterday I think), but they didn't do it well.

same here, only my population is back to front, pop limit is 3893/3270, yet I have 3546 military and 350 working settlers with 0 available so the new mines don't have anyone working them.
They wanted fix bug with negative amount of working settlers (I had -83 yesterday I think), but they didn't do it well.
Oh yeah that. I was wondering what on earth they tried to fix, that would cause this kind of major bug. But there it is. Well my count is not negative now, so guess they fixed it, kinda.
I am assuming this is the same bug that affected the German servers after maintenance on Tuesday.
What I can't understand is why you would roll out a release that has KNOWN bugs like this?
Seriously, did QA spend the last week sleeping?
its some fix with working settlers counting, i think. if i add 200 settlers, then all got right. you have minus settlers, but it dont show up
i think wells workers dont count before, but now they count
Hi everyone.
Here is a possible solution to the problem.
Try to empty the queue in the Barracks. That should solve the problem. If that's not enough, kill some units on an adventure or increase your population limit.
Here all so.
All new mines you build, will not working, because population is 0

helo iwe had more then 400 free setlers when i loged in today iwe got only 180
maked 7 nobles yesterday and 1 float this morning :(
we get new stuff, and also a few more free buggs.
Thanx BB
same as here.my population limit decrease 150...omg
good thing they test this stuff first :P
same here 0 pop count
Buy more gems, get more onbles, add more settlers = problem solved = more money to BB :)
everyone has bug. some has more than they nobles can have in, others has less than they should. like i have putted love potion like 10h ago. when i logged in i had like 17 free settlers when i shoulda had about 100 or more ;DD so i think they should close world again this night to fix what whey did. also those who do new things in worlds, i suggest u first fix out all old buggs - theres lot of those, before adding some new shit which makes even more buggs like this one....
Just add some settlers and all is okay. we have to ballance out the minus we have in working settlers yesterday. for examble: Yesterday you have -50 settlers, today you have 300 working settlers = you have to add 350 settlers to ballance it out. the way to test it is after you have added settlers is to delete a well and see if your numbers of unimploueed settlers go up by 1.
Work for my guild.
I counted all my workers, so it says 6 workers more than I have:
http://s2.postimg.org/h6fp87c55/Screen_Shot010.jpg
So that 6 I should have unemployed, were counted with workers I see, because 4159-(158+3995)=6 and 158+6=164..
But look what happened after I destroyed well with 4 water and built new one:
http://s3.postimg.org/h916l1e83/Screen_Shot009.jpg
and after few min still nothing:
http://s29.postimg.org/wel7tcxfr/Screen_Shot011.jpg
I hope this screenshots will help BB to fix the bug. Maybe someone just don't know how to make formulas for counting settlers in game program.
And after I put one residence on higher level that was counted, as u see.

German server had this after maintenance and they did a hotfix that took 4 hours yesterday. Why then have they allowed this update to go through when they knew in advance this would happen???
Edit: Ok seems to be you have to kill troops to get a deficit then they add - not sure on those who werent over-populated have dealt with it. A more thorough explanation prior to release of this "fix" would have saved a lot of posts on the subject, and saved a lot of the MODS time in both g1 and Help channels...

dear blue byte, i assume mr hardy has settled in as co-head of programming along side mr laurel. perhaps you can give mr chaplin a job as head of marketing.
I added a 325 pop buff, I only received about 120 or so of them, but everything seems to be back working as normal now. I never remeber having negative settlers.
Obviously some people might have to add a bigger buff, but this does seem to fix it.
Same for me! No settler-No production! Something is eating my settlers!

They also then tried to do an emergency hotfix which lasted 4+ hours (which ended up costing me 8 hours of Premium time, due to timezone differences and a pressing need to sleep) and which failed anyway! They had to roll back to the original, buggy release.
ho ho ho where the hell my e settlers :(

I added 650 settlers to mayor house and got 558 free now so not sure what is happening exactly!?
it's a bug, waiting for the devs to fix it pls !! :=) I have 0 settlers instead of 7300, and my precious mines have no workers... so no more prod^^ lol
Probably redundant to add "me too", but I have the additional problem that my current population suddenly is 719 higher than my maximum. It's as if a lot of my housing suddenly stopped "working", last night I had about 20 unemployed settlers on top of that, those are gone.
5795
Also I can't find where can have 50 settlers more, I counted few times in different ways:
http://s28.postimg.org/7redmcpj1/Screen_Shot014.jpg
update: uh, I gorfot 50 settlers from mayor house, so population is ok
Population is frozen no new settlers ... lost the ones waiting to be used, added settler from star menu to mayors house lost them too and still no new settlers.
kill troops before adding settler! they stay then
After the update - missing workers . Only thing added was a new floating house !!!

me too
Same problem. No Settlers available. Room for 600. Added 100 (2x50) settler buff. Nothing changed except the buffs are gone.
Thought I'd add my name to the list as well - Same problem with no settlers being produced and adding 125 doesn't do anything.
Me too. Pop limit 2064/4450.....
No Settlers available.
Added 100 settler buff. Nothing changed, the buff is gone.
Made 1 kill, refresh the page tha same situation.
Yup I've got the same problem :/
Same here, pop lost, adding population from star menu, doesn't help, it still remains 0 free settlers, and worse than that, every 15 instead of getting a new settler, I lose one, when I logged on I had 1900/2050 now its 1895/2050. when they fix this, they should give a gift of some settlers, since we lost so much of them, not to mention the production being messed up, since we can't buld anything new, do to no free population....
Same issue, no unemployed settlers this morning. I just marched 100R to their doom and now breadmen do get added to the total, so that sorted things for me.

I have same issue. Strange thing for me is why this issue is not fixed during test phase on test server.
I fill me self like beta tester of game... :) Hope that some rewards will be given :)
Now I did a lost skull -cleared cache- reloaded game- added settlers. Still 0 and no new made. So I tried all good advices from MOD! Didnt help me. Sure hope they will FIX this soon.
Got the same bug. I guess everyone does.

Had the same bug - zero settlers available on login this morning.
Added 625 to mayor's house and 28 disappeared. Never had negative count of settlers, so unsure why any fix for that should affect my count, but there you go.
Seems OK now, but lost a lot of settlers overnight.
Please sort this out BB.
I've got a weird one - I'm 25 settlers above my max pop (so can't rebuild any of my mines) when I had around 100 spare settlers last night.
All my settlers appear to have retrained themselves as recruits overnight as I don't remember having that many of them yesterday...
Thank you! I was logged off for 20 min and now bug is fixed:
http://s12.postimg.org/3omwfukgd/Screen_Shot002.jpg
I had 7 settlers available in my count yesterday, today, they've disappeared. I've destroyed some wells to free some to go to the new mines, it doesn't work! still no free settlers! Is it Ubisoft's way of forcing us to spend our gems on residences?
In the case of "0 settlers" , a zone shutdown is needed (logout for approx 30 minutes and make sure noone is visiting your island meanwhile). While waiting, it's advisable to also clear the browser's cache.
Please also make sure to check the post here (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/27617-INFO-No-new-settlers-population-count).

... and those new "Borland" confirmation icons are really annoying too.
just want to put that out there.
Do not follow the advice of building new residences using your gems! Indeed, your population max limit will increase but adding settlers you produced will just make them disappear from the star menu and they will actually not be added to your total settlers count. New settlers will not appear every 15 mins as it normally should either.
So that's great cause now, Ive got mines with no settlers in em, no point renewing my wells either, so basically my production is in total free fall... I hope we'll be properly compensated when the bug is fixed!
Check Mayor's house to see the actual amount of settlers. You can actually add settlers to those numbers (unless they are telling it's full).
The mouse-over popup population window, all and every are looking at, do have a visual bug.
A coherent bug blocks player from training any more troops (and get workers to new buildings).
Yet another bug reported on testserver, went live.. (http://forum.tsotesting.com/threads/20070-Strange-population-size-behavior)
Updated.
It's probably both "workers not returning to unemployed status" and "no settlers regen" during maintenance causing this lack of settlers.
I'll try to show and explain soon in a new post.

I just don't get the conspiracy theories that come out as soon as there is 1 issue. This game hasn't had that many bugs that have impacted and when there have been, we've been ploughed with freebies.
Let BlueByte fix the issues and then see what's offered. It's only been a couple of hours so far. People are carrying on like it's been down for days on end. A fi has been mentioned. Give it a go, if it doesn't work, try the next steps...no point in moaning without trying anything

Nope, I can't. I've specifically built a new residence (even if I had some spare settlers yesterday that seem to have vanished into thin air), the total amount of possible increased while my settlers count remained the same. I then added 20 settlers to the mayor's house: they just disappeared from my star menu and were not added to my settlers total count...

Hum hum, the bugs have been there continually from the start of the beta version online... as for this one: we already had to suffer countless disconnections/reconnections over the past 3 days with the servers being simply not accessible last night...

So when can we expect an official apology and some kind of compensation for this mess?
for me logout for an hour didn't help
it is fixed for me, maybe logout for more than 1 hour + floating residence helped
So when can we expect an official apology and some kind of compensation for this mess?
i hoping to get some compensation too. we lost lot of time/mood/troops/etc for this thing today. so compensation would be nice.
I got my unemployed workers and population increase to work but I have 11 workers doing something that I don't know. I counted that I should have 198 workers but the tool tip shows 209.
I had 11 sleeping work yards when my population increase started to work but that might be coincidence.
Seems like you are also affected by the other bug of not gaining settlers. The solution for this, would be to log out and wait 30 minutes before logging in. Your population count should increase normally again.
This is becoming really annoying! I did all we were told: added a residence, cleared the cash an history of the browser, logged out for more than 30 mins and my settlers max total is now inferior to my actual settlers total (which wasn't the case 30 mins ago)! What's going on Bluebyte???
It's all very well for Blue Byte to be saying that 'so and so is how you fix the issues'. The point is that these issues shouldn't be there in the first place, and wouldn't be if the 'fixes' had been adequately tested!
I spent 200 settlers buff for population increase this morning and nothing happened, had minus in copper production, so I expect something in return....apology at least

had the same issue: 7 buiding missing workers.
started an adv, visited the map, cleared 3 camps, and when ic ame back in had 3/7 building working.
just need to clear more camps :p
Because of the problems i just added 100 settlers from provision house...to man the mines....but 100 settlers are gone and not in population i have not reached pop limit yet!
I have the same problem and a large number of buildings (new mines) are not working because it says there are no settlers available as showing 0 - when there should be settlers.
I've done some screenshots today (and reported this (or related) bug on testserver in February).
I had no population issues before.
To me it seems like "the missing settlers" are workers not returning to unemployed status. Atleast for all those missing since maintenance.
Thou I need to do some more checking to be sure.

Sacrificing troops (in an adventure) did the forced server update needed here.
Yeah, got up this morning and found 0 settlers produced over night.
Ok. So this was supposed to be a fix for OPEN-Weird-population-count (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/27110-OPEN-Weird-population-count), but seems to have impact every players.
Still, BB seems to have no clue about what's happening and where to check as "Information-related-to-the-population" (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/27622-Information-related-to-the-population) just describes what players, affected to that earlier mentioned bug, should do.
Fexno tried to straighten things out, but a "30+ min log out" was no fix. For me sacrificing some troops did the forced server update needed.
Too bad I do not remember the exactly numbers of my population, when I was kicked out last night (when maintenance started). Thou I know I had 4 unemployed settlers and less than 200 up to population limit (and having 3 village schools; a settler-regen of about 5,5 per hour).
This is what I saw, about 10 hours later, when I logged in..

http://s7.directupload.net/images/140313/czvkho23.jpg
The difference of population size shown in the mouse-over popup "Population" window and what's shown in Mayor's house is 78. Doing some simple maths and it's easy to see "no settler-regen" could explain that alone, but also adding "workers not returning as unemployed" (ie every depleted well and mine) and numbers started to fit.
Also notice the numbers of working settlers. Those never changed thou I added settlers.

At this point I had tried to solve this by being logged out 30+ min and also by putting up a Floating residence. Didn't work.
http://s14.directupload.net/images/140313/2btapcg7.jpg
After I had done an attack in HLT (lost 136R), things started to sum up right and population size shown in the mouse-over popup "Population" window was the same as what's shown in Mayor's house. (I had also added 10 pop to my Floating residence.)
http://s7.directupload.net/images/140313/xpl3kgrr.jpg
To try summarize:
It seems like I lost 78 settlers in this fix and I couldn't care less - too bad I didn't manage to get enough screenshots to straighten this out.
Perhaps there are players minding their numbers better..

Hi,
After adding and upgrading a noble residence to 50 settlers and adding settlers from the Star Menu the result is "Settlers: 1632/1570" in the Mayor's house.
After clearing the cache nothing changed. Still all mines builded yesterday and today have no workers and the Population remains 0.
So, according your explanation you are robbing me with about 100 settlers and a living place for them (= 2-3 building licenses).
I don't like this.

most people have had the issue resolved by killing the excess pop (or a little over that amount) as recs on an adventure. So if you in excess by 100 population, kill 125 recruits on and adventure.. It worked for me.

I never had any excess pop, but sacrificing troops on an adventure did "fix" this for me aswell.
So still no word on an apology and some compensation? It's the least they could do when they didn't even bother telling us about the bug fix so we could prepare. Also, they can't really tell us that they didn't expect the problems since they have a test server and testing new updates and bugfixes for problems is what a test server is for.
