Sometimes you are posting something (like an URL) that will be censored, but it'll show up just fine in the chat for you. Why not display the censored version so you'll understand what's going on and can adjust your message?

That would mean removing the filter, which ofc is a big, NO NO.

He's asking to have the filter on also for the original poster.

Oh, sorry completely misread that. Then ofc it's a big +1 :)

This makes a lot of sense - the filter can be somewhat erratic and sometimes entirely innocent words (or words that in the context written are entirely innocent) are censored. At least then people would know without having to be told people are seeing stars.

+1 from me

I agree with Jim_B - there are some crazy words filtered, and some surprising ones not! (And no I'm not telling you which ones aren't, I'm not that blonde ;) )

+1
It can sometimes be quite difficult convincing people that you really really can't see the URL they just pasted since it looks fine to them. It may as well be censored on your end as well.

This sounds like a good idea, however there are implications for why we cannot make use of such a filter. A player who realises that he is being filtered might go to extraordinary lengths to figure out what is filtered and what is not and thus use this knowledge for malicious purposes. Circumventing the filter is one, but also spamming the chat with links that get their message across would be a further concern.

Therefore, even though this idea is good, it is unfortunately nothing that we can implement :-(

I hope this answers helps.

Are you trying to tell me that when a player is filtered and is told so both by other players and the mods that, that player is incapable of figuring out that they are being filtered out. I'm sorry but I don't believe you and there is no argument you can use to convince me otherwise.
