Here are some small fixes (mostly UI tweaks) that would improve the game experience for a low dev investment.
Update the Bookbinder UI so that the current production is shown below the different books (the same way as the Collections UI was redesigned). That way I can see what I need for each book while one is being produced.
Let us examine the skill trees of specialists while they are working. Being able to add skills would be nice too.
When you finish an adventure and click on the button to confirm the final adventure quest completion, the quest window disappears, the adventure window appears and your mouse cursor is now over the Cancel Adventure button for a few seconds until this window disappears and is replaced in turn by the adventure info window (with the Return Home button). It should never, ever, be possible to cancel an adventure once you've completed it. Cut that middle window out altogether.
When you get a mail with a quest reward in it, the icons for the reward animate and move over the button to close the window. Move the button or have them move in a different direction.
If you select a search type with an Explorer and then cancel it in the window where you select the length of search, the explorer window closes and you have to go back to the star menu and select the explorer again. Have canceling a selection return you to the previous window (the main explorer search types window).
Put a coloured frame around adventures that I have started in the quest element (the movable frame where active quests are displayed). That way if I have a lootspot on the go for the same adventure that I have started myself, I can tell which is mine and which is not.
Why is there always one empty Iron, Stone and Marble deposit on my island, can we just remove the 'dead' one for each and have number of potential sites equal to number of allowed deposits as for everything else in the game (marble in s1 west of the mayor's house, iron one of the three in the central strip in s5 and stone in the easternmost mountains in S5)? This is mostly my OCD rather than an actual improvement to be fair.
When I press enter for a search in the Trade Office and the cooldown for refreshing the search window isn't active then it should refresh the search window.
Send me the same notifications wherever I am. If I'm on an adventure or visiting a friend and a resource depletes on my island, tell me. If I'm on my home island and my general has won a fight or has been intercepted, tell me that too.
Check to see if geologists are successful when they finish their search not at whatever arbitrary point it is at the moment. If I know that a resource will run out during the time taken to search for a new one, let me send my geologist to find a new one before it depletes so that when it does deplete I might only need to wait a minute or two for my geologist to replace it.
Add an Unload All Troops button to the window for generals.
If anyone thinks of similar improvements to these then please feel free to add them below.
