View Full Version : Guides useful for low level players

The adventure guides present in this section of the forum are mostly (99.9%) favor only to high-level players.
There aren't any guide on adventures which doesn't incorporate the use of Crossbowmen, Elite Soldiers and Cannoneers.
I am unable to produce the above 3 due to level restrictions!!
I have a request to the creators of those fine adventure guides to make a pinned thread regarding the adventure guides without using any of Crossbowman, Elite Soldiers and Cannoneers.
Thanks.
If you are going to moan please at least have a search first.

Whilst a lot of the guides listed are out of date due to the changes in pathing, the camps and troops remain a good guide. Just remember to treat them as a guide and not as a walkthrough

With very few excemptions, all my guides posted in Killste's thread have setups for all levels of players.
Most of them do have blocks, but in most cases they are optional.
It might be daunting to find the setups for your specific player level, if you jump head first into one of my guides.
Thus, I would recommend that you first read through my guide for Bounty Hunter (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/16332-Killste-Collected-Adventure-Guides-by-Various-Authors?p=193506&viewfull=1#post193506).
I know, you've already finished it, but it does contain some useful general information too. :)
Then, I would recommend that you try the Lost Skull (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/16332-Guide-Killste-Collected-Adventure-Guides-by-Various-Authors?p=210239&viewfull=1#post210239), the Tropical Sun (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/16332-Guide-Killste-Collected-Adventure-Guides-by-Various-Authors?p=211855&viewfull=1#post211855) or the Sleeping Volcano (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/16332-Guide-Killste-Collected-Adventure-Guides-by-Various-Authors?p=235039&viewfull=1#post235039) to get an easy going into the world of my guides...
And if you want to try a block for the first time, do start with the Dark Priests (http://forum.thesettlersonline.com/threads/16332-Killste-Collected-Adventure-Guides-by-Various-Authors?p=195501&viewfull=1#post195501).

Your's reply is totally useless.
Your reply is a total contradiction of your original post. You say there are no guides that do not incorporate the use of Crossbowmen, Elite Soldiers and Cannoneers. Yet you already have it book marked and are aware of it??
You need to think about what you want before you post as you say my reply was totally useless, I think it was your whole post that was totally useless.
Actually, the original post is totally correct - there are no guides that don't make use of xbows, elites and cannons.
What the OP appears to have missed is that many of those same guides ALSO provide options for lower level troops. ie, I think he just doesn't understand the guides...
And Daz, what on earth are you doing linking to sid's guides? These should never EVER be used anymore! It will just cause grief and more complaints from people saying "the block didn't work".

Thanks for supporting the cause.
Sid's guides might be old... but atleast it says which camp to hit with what approx. composition of troops at my level. And I would be extra careful with the guide.

To the MODs please.... close this thread please.
A very helpful soul have taught me how to use a combat simulator in the best way to calculate troops....
I am sorry if I was rude or ignorant. I just didn't have the combat calculation knowledge.

It still takes considerable experience to calculate and set up blocks correctly if you don't have access to the troops used in other guides. Especially elites are used extensively for blocks which bars anyone below level 41 from using most guides.
Thanks for supporting the cause.

Ha Ha
I didn't "Join your cause", I said YOU had problems with understanding the guides...
Marauderer I think you need to have a good read of the guides as you clearly do not understand them, a bit like Geronthius has just said you totally misinterpreted what he said to you.
I am not trying to argue, or insult but all the guides for low levels players that use a range of all troop kinds are available on here. What you will usually find is the guide will give many different setups in the same guide, so I take it as you see crossbows and elite soliders you are instantly thinking the whole guide means you need them. That is why I am saying have a GOOD read of them.
