Yesterday I had this 54/55
So i kept sending out my geos for everything but still could not discover the final node.
Is this level related ie only level 50s can find all deposits ?
Im level 40
Thanks
To 'achieve' this you would have to:
Be level 50
Produce a lot of books
Train one geologist fully to the top level and then choose the least desirable of the 3 options
After that he might find a bonus Iron or Marble deposit, thus making 55

Hmm... the achievement system could do with some notes on these achieves like "only level 50" for example
so us lesser mortals dont waste time on them
Who can be bothered with all of that? What is the reward?

This can be done without major effort. Send out all your geologist and discover the 53 deposits. There is an extra Marble and an extra stone deposit so what you need to do is wait until the deposit runs out and collapses - DO NOT DESTROY IT. Send out another geologist and hopefully he will find the 'extra' marble/stone deposit this time. The achievement then unlocks. If it doesn't work and he rediscovers the exhausted quarry then you just have to wait. You'll get there in the end.
Both ways discussed are not worth it. What a poor feature. The achievements relating to doing adventures many times are worse. I don't really enjoy adventures as it is! The thought of doing them all multiple times to get achievements for all of them... never going to happen.
I'm firmly into playing the game constantly as a habit and enjoy it broadly, but I'm sure to drift away in due course the way it looks.

doesnt work
Achievements > Lay of the Land they want me to have 55 discovered deposit at at time.
That is impossible. Maximum deposits at a time is 54:
8 - stones
10 - marble
6 - copper
16 - iron
6 - coal
8 - gold
In total: 54

You need a specialist geo that finds an extra deposit.
Do you mean that one of my geo should have "Lucky Find" skill or some other skill ?
From what I hear yes you do need the lucky strike skill.
I can confirm the the extra 3 deposits in a depleted state do not work.
[Thread merged: "Lay of the Land - 55 deposits is imposible"]
I have completed this task, so it is not impossible.
However you must be Level 50 and have a Geologist with the Lucky Find skill, this will allow you to find either an additional Marble or Iron deposit.
To find the additional deposit, you must first find all the normal Marble or Iron deposits and then keep sending the Geologist out to find a new deposit (this skill only works if all normal deposits of that type have already been found and are not depleted). The Geologist has a 15% chance of finding an additional deposit.
So far I have found an additional Iron deposit in S8 and additional Marble deposits in S4 & S9.
I hope this helps.

marble in s4 & s9?
Yes, these are additional deposits, there is one just under the 3 copper mines in S4 and to the left of the bottom gold mine in S9. Took me a while to find them when I got the notification pop up saying the Geologist had found a deposit
This is actually not a bug. It works as intended.
