View Full Version : Away From Keyboard indicator

Probably been suggested before but I like probably many others leave my account logged in even if I am away from screen. Sometimes I come back to find a few whispers or messages and that person has no idea if I am ignoring them or actually away. My suggestion is the green dot shown on your player when online should turn orange when you have been inactive (not clicked or moved on your island) for a certain period of time maybe 15 mins or 30 mins.

and add an afk-message to whisper.

A fourth tab showing only friends and guildies who are online would be useful

We currently have a green dot to show when a player is online, would it be too much to add a yellow or blue afk light switch to the green to show if someone is away and will not respond. I find it annoying when trying to talk to people who are 'online' only to find out that they simple left the computer on and went to work or sleep....

I'd like an afk and a busy option to be added, hate to seem rude when people whisper and I'm not there and really hate not replying when I'm in the middle of blocks and such.

SmurfAsH

+1 Indeed...and perhaps BB could get rid of the auto-updating script stealing focus (removing cursor) from chatbox (and in mail, since that system got reworked) - I would rather click to update such "online bar" than keep getting interrupted when typing.

Hi,

It would be nice if you made it posible to click your own portrat, and turn on a yello dot, to show friends and guildies that you are AFK.

That would save many alot of time trying to find out whos at the keyboard and whos not! :)

Whispering someone and never getting a reply can be a frustrating experience, especially when they are "online."
It would be helpful if the friends bar/guild bar green dot could turn orange when the person is afk (away from keyboard).

Setting an afk note would also be helpful but maybe I'm pushing my luck here.
Those of us who are on the waiting end of the communication line would greatly appreciate such a feature:

Ex)) Afk: brb 5 min, making a cup of tea
Ex)) Afk: running an errand, back in 20

YES YES YES YES I want this as i frequently work while playing and either have another window open or on another screen and the volume of times people whisper me and i don't answer is ridiculous.

Who'd suggested an answer machine? What's suggested is an (optional) AFK-message TO whoever is whispering.. Not FROM.

(BTW, I wouldn't mind a DND-status/-message - blocking all incoming whispers.. Would be very handy while busy attacking on advs.)

This is a good idea

BUT !!!!

It will not happen

WHY??

because it is a good idea and BB only really push ahead bad ideas.

Where is the Legendary General and MMA for Star coins ?
Where is the Guild Bank ?
Pvp?
Dynamite
The ability to make more than 250 slaves in 1 hit

and such...

you know those green bubbles on your absolutely unusable contact list feature: any chance they ever can go yellow whn ppl are afk? ...you guys have a cool social feature here, a popular one, don't let it go to waste as UI is way limited

Hi all, Whenever we log in we get a green icon button pop up on one's avatar on bottom of screen, which indicates one is on and available. However a lot just log in and leave their oen island on but they go away and leave the game, which I can understand.
So what I would like to suggest to BB is a system say similar to the one used by other net programs whereby one can say you are on but away from the game, thus telling others that you are not available to chat/play etc. This could be a simple colour change to the green button or if that's not feasable then another button, but something that tells you are away.

I'll just go ahead and bump this. We've been talking a lot about how useful that would be in the guild chat. Seeing it has been suggested repeatedly for the past 3 years, I don't really have many hopes for it. Would be very useful though!!!

I think it would be very useful to be able to appear to other users (ie. friends and guild members) as "afk" or "away from keyboard".

This could be done by maybe having a yellow dot instead of a green one for online. This could be selected or could automatically change after 10 minutes of inactivity on TSO. This would be very helpful :)

I'd like this too. Maybe turn green blob red? I know the yellow/green would be hard to distinguish quickly. Ofc, red/green will be an issue for those with various colourlimitations.

I would like if it was possible to active change you status from green online to - say yellow or orange for afk.

I am often not very "online" because I am doing other stuff, and sometimes I am just not in the mood to chat, but just want to mind my own business in the game. When I dont see what friends type and dont see that they whisper they get annoyed. I cant hear whisper as I have sound effects toggled off, and I dont want them on again.

It would be nice to signal that I am logged on but not looking at chat and not in reach by setting status as afk.

Thumbs up for this suggestion, no matter when it was initiated.

In my guild this has been a topic for some time now lately. We swap ls's actively between the members of the guild. It's annoying to wait 8hrs for the lootspot to get cleared, if invite went to some who appears to be green, but actually is sleeping/at work/minding own bussinesses.

A cancel adventure invite option was in the previous test cycle. Hoping it makes it to live with the next update.
