View Full Version : Level six farms. Is it really worth it?

I have just been doing some math. If I have 54 silos and farms and want to upgrade 45 of those farms to level six so that I can demolish nine and have some more free space on the island, I need 13500 grout. Which means I need to collect 17832 footballs (doubtful) or buy them with gems (expensive). Is it really worth it for 9 free spaces?
They have said will be available in the future so getting what you can from this event is a start. The most important factor to my mind based on what we have at present is that if you don't want to rebuild fields then you are going to need improved silo's if your wanting to maximize the amount of space gained on your island. Talking to others on my server the consensus is 1 imp silo to 2 L6 farms, this means your demand for grout will be limited to how fast you obtain the imp silos.
How much is for moving level 6 Farm ? Anybody ?

I havent done any calculations, but obviously the silos will be out of kilter with the farms if I use grout and upgrade them, TBH it took a long time to get it balanced, so I wont be doing a L6 upgrade yet - it hurts me brain lol
Probably not but what else to do with those footballs .........

How long does a level 6 upgrade take?

How long does a level 6 upgrade take?
One week, same as lvl 5.
For arguments sake let's just say that the 5>6 upgrade gives you +1 wheat every 13:00, that would mean that by upgrading you drop about 775 cycles of the lvl5 farm losing 775*5 wheat during the upgrade process over the week it is upgrading.
You're down 3875 wheat, you gain +1 per cycle so you need 3875 cycles to make up for lost time... It'll take you another 35 days after the upgrade finishes before the farm catches up on what it lost during the upgrade. It then brings in about an extra 110 wheat per day, so let's be a little generous and call that +41k wheat per year.
I've seen grout being sold at 50gc/u on the TO, so let's be generous again and slash that by 50% making grout 25gc/u. It's 300 grout to do the upgrade and we'll be generous again and forget about the granite. That makes the investment in the upgrade about 7500gc.
Wheat is being sold on the TO now at 15gc/k so we'll be generous again and double that to 30gc/k, I therefore need to sell 250k wheat at that price to make up the 7500gc investment and as this upgrade gives me an extra 41k per year it'll take me about 6 years before I see any real return on the investment... Unbuffed of course, but that's not going to help much.
No, I don't think it's worth it but that doesn't mean I'm not going to do it. :p I think I got all that right..?
thats cooI then just intime for next worId cup :D

your figures seem about right Splotch I reckoned about 90 k gc per space (18k gc per farm) taking the very top prices, makes no financial sense to do it but there's not much to spend gc on these days so people will do it.
What else are you going to spend your coins on :P But yea I think this is more about gaining some space and licenses, and fitting them with the imp silos. All end game stuff, not for the likes of lowbies. I was considering this, but I am at the stage of affording normal silos. So not useful for me right now. But perhaps when I am loaded with coins, this may be a nice way to gain some more space.
For now I have lots of space, and silos are on my next list of stuff to buy. Silos and Water Mills. Hopefully by the time I can afford imp silos, they will have imp watermills.

depend on how much space you are lacking, Ive zero spaces left so upgrading is the only option.
