Can you still find event items during events, when using artefact search?

Yes, and depending on what event, your explorer may bring back additional event related stuff too.

Apologies - wrong answer - The answer is the artefact search only yields buffs unless you are using a lucky explorer in which case he may bring you back an additional buff on the artefact search.

The world cup event was only a few weeks ago I know - I'm trying hard to forget the whole experience, so my memory might not be 100% - however, I don't remember any of my skilled up explorers returning with footballs or collectibles when doing artefact searches.
