Surplus achievement

Hi,
I have a problem with the specialization achievements.
Although I have invested the needed books in my explorer (see first image), the achievement is not complete (see the second one)
I'm pretty sure some other achievements are incomplete, though the requirements should be met. I'll check and come back later.

Ah, looking into my crystal ball I detect that you started playing in May 2013 so you probably invested those books into your explorer a long time ago. Let me tell you a story:

On 22nd May this year a house called the "achievements system" piloted by the evil Dorothy wearing pink slippers landed on the Wonderful Witch of the Swamp and *squish* out of the muddy waters the counting started ...

Because of the sudden demise of our hero the Witch of the Swamp all previous occurrences in the land of TSO were forgotten.

The wicked wizard decreed that you must invest those books after the house landed in order for it to count.

Oh, I see what you did there! :D

However, I don't believe i invested three books in gold mining surplus, before investing in iron surplus (which is completed). It's still possible, though

Is this a reversal of the previous stance that the science achievements were working as designed and does this therefore mean that the previously created books will also be counted for the Librarian/Archivist/Collector achievements too?
