Is there any maintenance or what?
I can't log in to the game.
I got this message - The server is busy at the moment. Try again later.................

What that means - I try also to log from another PC, but still no luck

Same problem here, one hour ago when I was logged in, there was terrible lag, now that I logged out, i can't get back to the game, and last hours of premium time runnign out..same old...same old...

unfortunately that is a new feature of recent that after maintenance there are some new bugs and they are doing what they can to fix them so please hold on. Please contact support

yet another maint and another day of kicks and lag....this is the good service we have come to expect from BB....grab the money and provide an almost unplayable game with kicks every 10min and lag .....just sack the noob who keep pluggin the servers into the old dial up connection....or show him how to do his job properly :)...

Today after maintenance again server is incredible slow. The game is unplayable and there is message:
"The server is busy at the moment. Try again later." - when try to log-on. It began to be "normal" after maintenance 1 day game to not work. :( Maybe is better to not have maintenances if this is result of them.

This is not necessarily related to the firewall maintenance (as other language versions don't seem affected).

However, it has been reported and our technicians are on it.

Just taken me 4 attempts to get into the game. Got to the loading map page, then 'server is busy' and kicked back to login page.
Then keep getting kicked out of the game after a while with 'server is busy' note too.

Sure it isn't the firewall? They seem to have made it a little bit too impenetrable ;)

edit: my guild and guild officers tabs are also disappearing
further edit: as soon as the guild chat tabs appear, is the moment i get kicked out of the game

There are also reports on at least a few other instances.

Managed to log in after quite a few attempts, but everything is running really really slow, and it won't let me move things from my star menu .... every time I try I get kicked out "server busy try again later" :(

This is ridiculous - just shut the game down, with a notice on the login page, until the issue is resolved. By failing to be proactive about this all BB are doing is generating lots of bad will for themselves. Shut the servers down, fix the problem, let people back in to a stable game ONCE IT IS FIXED

Update...still can't get in...but

I shut down my browser, restarted it and I'm now back to server is busy msgs.
I normally use Fire fox...tried IE & Chrome-same problem
NB I use the Facebook login

2nd update...I'm back to the server will be shutdown msgs

p.s. I also had a strange problem on the forum..page wouldn't load and I got database error msg ( not sure if it's related to the game issues)

Germany is affected but there are others who aren't. So other language versions are not affected. If it was because of the firewall maintenance ALL versions would be affected. Hope this clears it up. :)

Also, as a sidenote, Newfoundland seems to have the most issues, followed by Sandycove and Northisle.

Changed name of the thread to "Disconnect/Server busy" to better reflect the issue and stop new threads being opened on this matter.

Issues is still being worked on for now.

It never went away.

However, on topic, this is has gone beyond 'ridiculous', straight past 'sublime' and made a hard left at 'downright frustrating'.

For as long as I can remember now, the day after maintenance has been riddled with lag for me, to a greater or lesser extent. Today, however, I had to navigate past a "server busy" message just to get it, one of the people I invited to my adventure I had rtf since just before maintenance last night got the same when accepting the invite and had to relog in order to make a kill, and now the person I sent some cookies to for use on my island and I both got it during the process of buffing me.

I dread to think what next Tuesday is going to be like. I guess I'll be battening down the hatches all over my island on Monday night.

If it was only in the morning, I would be inclined to agree with you. But it doesn't seem to matter what time of day I log in after maintenance, my first hour or two (at least) is full of chronic lag. Some weeks it continues to affect me well into the evening. It happens too regularly to be a coincidence.

Co-ops I feel it worse, but I find having a wired connection improves the lag over a wi-fi one for me these days..

I almost always play on my desktop with hard line connection to my router. Wi-Fi is not the cause here.

If you have problems with your WI-FI then i can agree u're finding it better with a wired connection. I, on the other hand, have no problems with my Wi-Fi (can download with a 6-7MB speed) and yet struggle to play TSO? There is no week that passes without some major lag, trouble connecting, being able to at least stay in the game, etc... This has to stop...

game is clearly still having issues - loading screen wait time appears normal, but "loading map" takes a long time, if game loads at all (after a few refreshes, game loaded). After reaching the game, some commands, specially demolishing depleted mines/quarries appear to be half registered - some are processed with a delay, others appear not to be processeed. Picking up collectibles works fast, though. After 1 or 2 min, I lost connection to the server, after a few tries I could enter the game again, and the demolish commands had in fact been processed.

The game still load time take too long - After the second loading screen closes - it take me 2-3 minutes to load me the screen with my mayor house - all is green the sand clock is spinning for 20-30 sec for every command I gave and a lot of people lost they premium yesterday - but no refund yet...............

As I type this I am again attempting to get back into the game (8 min and still loading) after refreshing due to major lag.
All evening I have experienced getting "stuck" for several minutes between islands. TO not working and difficulty buffing and loading gems.
I have no issues at all with other sites.
I have done all the obvious things with no improvement

Am stuck now at the loading screen... I just started the tutorial expedition minutes before server crashed... It is now half hour later. My expedition will expire and I am not gonna wait for the server to stop crashing and looping.

Quick question: Should I bother sending a ticket to customer support? Last time the servers had a "Performance Issue" you were not willing to provide any support/refund/compensation whatsoever...

Around 12:05 GMT got the maintenance page, after i refreshed browser now stuck in Login Queue at the loading screen. After 25 mins of waiting (48 of 211), it is getting little tiring now.

Also, I am running on premium, will there be any extension to the game time where it was unplayable? Its not just waste of half an hour, or an hour. Most of us play in slots, morning before leaving for work, lunch time, coming back from work in evening. Just missing a single slot is tantamount missing out on more than a quarter of day or more. I request you to consider this when we do come back online and take any corrective measures.

I have been locked out for about 3 hours now - a real waste cause I had consumed a 1 day premium about 2 hours earlier. grrrrrr

If it helps with resolving the problem the page I get shown is entitled Maintenance. It says....
We are currently carrying out maintenance work on the website and/or game servers. This does not usually take longer than half a day.
please be patient and wait a few minutes before you reload the site.

I'd really like some of the gems I spent buying premium for 7 days twice over Easter back - sure they worked out ok for the first few days but lag killed any benefits for me over the time period - there were 3 days where I couldn't even log in, let alone play.

It's not about compensation, it's about frustration.
we can understand once, twice.... but c'mon, we are not stupid or lab rats.
BB and Ubisoft not respecting their customers, this is what it's about.
Not the support fault or whatever, the whole is rotten lately.
I send them a personal support letter, though I expect nothing from them, as would not be the first that gets unresovled.

I know it's not much, but it won't kill you.... and might actually do some good in terms of public relations (which is, essentially, your job here), especially when folk like me, inevitably, get told by support that we are not going to get any form of recompense for the Expedition, that I was in the middle of when the game crashed, expiring during this period I am unable to access the game.

Although, it is the poor folks struggling to get that 3200 eggs achievement that end up losing valuable explorer time because of this that I really feel for. I am pretty sure I have a couple sitting idle right now, myself because I am stuck in a log in queue from Hell!

(1) you're not the only one burning premium, the hard fact of it is you run the risk when you buy a token. BB give out a fair few though out the year to cover this.

(2) 3 days that you could not log in ? I have one of the naffs net connections in the UK, yet even with 70mph winds i was still abel to get on, so I will call shenanigans on that.

It is quite simple, they did a 'maintenance' and that 'maintenance' did something or undid something that gives the game makers a reason to do as they choose which may reset things, remove things, or adjust things so that WE the players will in some way be forced to purchase from them the gems to do things going forward OR weed out those who do not spend money on the game. It is their simple economic ploy to see who they can keep and who leaves.

Anyone else have a totally messed up graphic?

I am in the game, but everything is so messed up that its really really hard to be positive at this point.
1) Cant send out explorers
2) Cant get to my adventure to finish it. I would have finished inside premium time, but during this whole 2½hour debacle that has expired.
3) Graphics is totally messed up so when I go across my Island all building gets drawn out and blurred

I like this game, but this is honestly not something that works in favor of it.

In same time I was logged in Anno Online. I got disconnected from there too. However now I can log in into Anno Online just fine. I am getting this error only on Settlers Online and can not get into game. :'(

Hey all... just wondering if anyone else have experienced this new fancy thing called "login queue"?
I just did. what should have taken no more than 30 minutes, now took more than 2 hours!
and does it at least work properly? nope.. I was sitting in at number 8-30 in queue out of about 200. how can I be number 8 and suddenly be number 23 in queue, and then being number 10 in queue and suddenly 30 in queue? the system can't count? or are people cutting in line, messing up the system?
and that's not even all, after sitting 1½ hour, I got disconnected from the server, making me having to retry to log in.
lucky me that I started out being number 10 in queue and only had to wait another 10 minutes for getting in.

I had 200 or so buildings, running unbuffed for 2 hours or so. this has cost me a great amount of resources. and I'm sure there are some people out there who has lost more than I have! and if not, there might just be so in the near future as this probably wasn't a "one time only" kind of thing.

if you want to allow new players into the game, but not more than eg. 10000 at a time, you should have a "disconnect inactive people" command in line. cause you can, to my knowledge, be logged in for weeks on end! without ever having logging out!
I could understand the queue, if it was to ease the load on a pure login server. kinda like opening a gate to let people in 1 at a time, instead of trying to log in eg. 200 people within 5 seconds. but as there is a limit to how many people can be on at the same time, this is useless.
it's like an infinity slide, the line isn't moving until someone gets off, however there is no reason to get off to begin with, and there is noone to say when you've been on for long enough and need to get off to let others get on.
if noone logged out, noone would ever get to get back on.

I've gotten on prior to posting this and I don't have anything at all when it comes to chat box, not even "geologist have found new deposit" or something. nope, nothing.
do I dare to log out? if I did dare, would I be able to get back on or would I again, spend hours getting in?

anyone else experiencing this "fanzy" idea?

I was not moving any building. Not a gem one either. Last things I did was to start new bn, send generals with troops into adventure and then set 2 jollies to find 2 marble deposits. Then I waited for jollies to finish, so I can demolish two iron mines and set them to search for iron deposits. So there was no moving gem buildings either or demolishing anything. I never demolished those 2 iron mines either. Jollies didn't find new marbles before I got disconnected.

I noticed I had this issue with BB servers while I was on Anno Online server. Before disconnection from Settlers Online I did however write few messages in chat about being disconnected from server... Maybe I shouldn't write those. Maybe this is the cause of the zone error now.

Nah, it's most probably because of mismatch on serverside. Could be about those travelling generals (I've experienced something similar.) and will hopefully be solved within 24hours.

I'm getting this same error message now, after being disconnected suddenly from the server network,
a number of hours ago.

The event is hard enough for lower level players who only have a small chance of getting (one of) the
main prizes. This sudden network error, makes that chance even smaller.

Is there anyone from BByte who can react to this *major* problem, even if it's just briefly?

So.... dear BB now fix ur mess:

1 adv invite expired
2 my barracks was buffed, the buff ran out without troops as well... game crushed
3 I was on premium
4 my generals went home instead to go to the next adv
5 one of my explorers got home and i could not re-send it
+ others

So thank you ! I am still waiting for an official explanation or whatever u have to say for how the players are treated ! N'joy

[ removed ] if we lose premium time get arrangements and plans messed no one can even say sorry. Extending premium time doesn't even really help because most of us schedule it for times when we are available

just pathetic. every invite I accept kicks me out of the game, then can't get back for 10-25 minutes (server busy). it's the same problem as at the beginning of the event. I've sent a ticket to support and didn't get any answer, that's more than unpolite

Err, well in one case, I'd rather have the 100 gems that were due for logging in that day and to have been able to finish the adventure that expired during the meltdown, plus the lost premium (for what it's worth these days), and an extra day to catch up the easter quests that started that night.

I lost out on my days play that I had coordinated my week around. I was planning on having a big session to get in a load of eggs. Losing that day means that between now and the end of the event I only have sporadic play time and am unlikely to achieve my goals.
I also paid for a days premium and only got to use about an hour of it.
More to the point, I sat around all afternoon frustrated because nothing was communicated.

My friend started an adventure, invited a loot spot and then the game crashed out on him. He is unable to return because he is away for Easter. He lost all that time and all those troops on the adventure for nothing, and he p1ssed someone off real bad who got locked to an adventure for who knows how long before he quit out. My friend will return his gold when he gets back but in the mean time his name is mud.

But yeah, you are right Urgh123... 1 buff and 1 mine refill sure is great to have... just super :p
