Hello,

Just some questions and observations I gathered from playing PVP/Colonies. I was very excited at the beginning, having completed all the achievements in the regular game I was looking forward to getting new achievements.

I'm currently trying to do the Expert Conqueror achievement (win huge colony from player while losing less than 650 units). It's an easy achievement at Tier 1, but at Tier 2 it's almost impossible. Especially with all the unpredictability from the new fighting system.

1. Chain intercept: if I attack a camp and another camp intercepts me, after fighting the camp that intercepts me, if another camp is nearby, it will intercept as well, even though the path of my general was not going anywhere near that camp. Is this a feature or a bug?
2. Intercept bugs: it happened several times that a general went past a camp that was in theory going to intercept, and when I logically assumed that I can go past that camp without being intercepted, I was actually intercepted.
3. Medipack bugs: I searched for a colony, got in, and I noticed that even before sending the generals to it, all 5 medipacks were used.

Why aren't achievements adjusted for colony tier difficulty? It is very easy to take a huge colony with under 650 units at tier 1 but almost impossible at tier 2. Not being able to do this achievement at tier 2 prevents me to play more PVP since if I barely miss the 650 unit mark at tier 2, I will for sure not be able to make it at tier 3. A good suggestion is to allow players to use more medipacks for high tier colonies.

How can we go back from tier 2 to tier 1, or from tier 3 to tier 2? Initially, I managed to do so by searching for colonies, accepting them and cancelling them. After the last maintenance it is not possible anymore. Is moving up/down tier a feature of the new system? If so, where is it documented?

All in all, after only playing PVP/Colonies since they were introduced, I will give it a rest until the issues are fixed.

1) Chain intercepts are normal. Your gen gets pulled off course and ends up walking a different path to his target, this might take him into the intercept zones of camps that were not a problem when he started his walk.

Noticed that the attacks on humble Tier 1's has gone drastically down. I assume a lot are stuck on Tier 2 and Tier 3 now.

In order to go down in Tiers you need to loose. :-(

You do that the cheap way:
- Search for a small exp. island, only player ones will be useful.
- Visit the island and then cancel the expedition.
- It can take up to 7 explorers to get down one tier.

Happy loosing. ;-)

The chain intercept is not bug.
You get intercepted, win the battle, but because you were taken out of the way you originally went, you are now in a new intercept zone, and if that is outside the intercept zone of the camp you are going for (leaders don't have any intercept zone) you are intercepted. If you won that you will either be intercepted by the next, or if you are not in an intercept zone continue to the camp you were attacking in the first place.
It works like that in normal adventures too.
Medi pack is clearly a bug, heard of that before.
Dunno about the random intercepting camp, but if it looks like it is going to intercept, I guess its best to assume it does :)

Keep winning - do not abandon/cancel an expedition, as it counts as a loss.

That is probably why then, as I keep abandoning Colony that doesn't look attractive to attack..... >__<

i got one colony at tier 1, i owned it, My Husband did the same before me at tier 1, he owned it for the required days (7), then went looking for a second and got tier 1 again which he again beat and owned quite easily.
Meanwhile i went looking and could not get anything but tier 2 colony's which i managed by the skin of my teeth to beat and own but found you only seem to own for 5 days. also you only seem to have 5 hours to beat tier 2 in , is this correct or did i miss read?
Tier 2 are a real pain to beat for Very little rewards, i for one will no longer do pvp/colony as the cost in making weapons far out ways the rewards Sadly was looking forward to a new level of play.

Expedition Islands - PvP is a halfdone job. Rushed/pushed thru - but as everyone else (he-he), I am sure BB will get the job fully done as soon as 2015 invade us.

- Horrible missmatch in the troop costs.
- Colony Interface is not very informative.
- Mails/VP from defending, is useless disinformation.
- There are lots more, but Support prob. already got a huge pile of tickets to send to.....someone.

I know the functionality, I used it before the last maintenance. I am curious if somebody else moved down tier after it. I tried with all my 19 explorers, totaling 38 loses and I'm still stuck at tier 2. That is why I wonder if they changed something...

I am not aware of the chain intercepting in the regular adventure but I will try it and will come back with an answer.

I am currently unable to search for colonies to conquer ,as I have reached my 'limit' for concurrent expeditions,why introduce a system,then bar me from using it?

Game has always only allowed you to do one adventure. Expeditions count as an "adventure"

This aspect of them clearly works exactly as intended.

True, there have been some instances where an adventure or expedition has ended but the game thinks it is still running, but I got the impression most of those have been sorted.

The other thing that doesn't help is the occasional bug where starting an adventure doesn't automatically bring up the icon at the right of the screen and talking newbies through their quest log on help is a nightmare...

But the game has ALWAYS had a limit of one adventure (plus one invitation) and I see no problem with expeditions being counted towards that same limit. This is a failure to understand the game, not a failure of the game.

There has never been a restriction prevent you from sending out your explorers to search for an adventure while you are running an adventure. Yet here you are saying that with expeditions this is indeed the case. Would you like to take a guess at whom I see as suffering from a failure to understand ?

Seeing as it's a wholly fundamental aspect of the way expeditions work, I assumed you knew or would look it up.

They're not stored in star, they just immediately start when you send out explorer.

If you lose PVP will you go down a tier. I'm finding Tier 2 ones far too hard. How many do i need to lose and do I need to make a kill before it counts as a loss before cancelling?

Yes AA - kill one camp and then cancel. You'll soon drop down tiers.

You don't have to kill the camps...just start the expedition and then cancel it ...it takes at least 4-5 times i think to go down a tier.

I'm totally agree with Horia... after 8 losses on tier 3 expeditions, finally i succeeded to receive expedition from tier 2 yesterday, which I lose also. My surprise today was that offered expeditions was started from tier 3 again. I wasn't win any expedition meanwhile...
From my point of view PvP is not designed for tier 3 expedition in the beginning and now is changed on the fly....
Stupid thing in expeditions are fixed place for defensive camps, which in most of cases are useless....
My proposal for developers is to redesign PvP at least for camp places and limit of used marshals and medipacks for expeditions depend of island tiers.

And I meet a bit different issues:
1. After enemy camp is defeated, the Marshall is intercepted again (chain intercept), but DOES NOT retreat when I click "retreat". It goes and fights instead. This must be a bug! At the real adventures the General retreats.
2. Often I can not find players islands (most often they contain valuable granite). I have to search very many times before one comes out. Why this is so?

Sometimes when i send my explorers to search for colony - they didn't find any ....just some coins an sausages goes to trash

i dont understand thing with tier . i am at tier 1 still. now i have problem i conquered 5 th colony and it got stuck id is in defence building mode and i cant build any defence. and i cant start another colony conquering because this is still active.i bought my 5th slot with 200 valor points and it got stuck. also quest to kill 100 map bosses doesnt count this killing. i killed 5 and it shows 0.

Happened to me several times - try to go to your colony via quest tab, if u can - make your defence ...after that log out, clean your cache( i use CCleaner) - drink 1 coffee( i mean u have to wait for a while), then log in and you will be able to claim the colony.

Tiers are levels of difficulty - 1 is easy, 2 medium and 3 hard( its better to stay on tier 1 with all this bugs and issues ).

ok. thanks. this worked for me. but i have another problem now. quest " the boss" to destroy 100 boss camps. how it works? i conquered 7 colonies. killed 7 bossess. still it counts as 0 ( zero ) how come?

You are welcome :). About the 100 boss camp achievement.... it looks like another issue, personally i had no problems with this one.
But here the counter for "Titanic Harvest" achievement doesn't work :)

Because the marshals move so fast I find the chances of pressing retreat and being successful is about 50/50. The greater the distance between the next intercepting camp the more chance you have of success but you have to be real quick. I have even had an army that I clicked to retreat get halfway through the next battle then decide to retreat which was funny!

I don't like the anonymous feature of PVP. I would like to know:
a)Owner's name of the colony i am attacking
b) Name of the user that attacking/conquer my colonies

I tried it for the first time, to try and clear a few quests. I tried, really I did, but here are my thoughts:

1) It's horrifically imbalanced in terms of cost versus reward
2) The whole quest chain was riddled with mismatched tooltips and [undefined text]
3) The interface for loading a marshal was really clunky, as was sending combats
4) My tutorial island was missing a camp so I couldn't actually complete the side-quest chain properly
5) Some elements of the quest chain completed without the necessary conditions actually having been met
6) Unassigned PvP troops do not show up in the new info popup on the troop transport, not very joined up
7) Even with a level 5 combat academy and a buff, the time to rebuild troops lost on a small colony was crazy - how can people sustain this?
8) At no point in the experience did it feel like I was attacking another player (probably because I wasn't) - surely that's the whole point?

Is this really the best they could do? was this really ready to go live? or was it hastily rolled out in a panicked attempt to quell the negativity around the rebalancing of loots?

Heavy Mace - same cost
Attack Bow - now 10 hardwood 2 iron bar (for 5k you need 50k hardwood 10k iron bars)
Heavy Crossbow - now 10 hardwood 2 iron bar
Heavy Lance - 2 iron bar 6 coal
Attack Sabre - 2 iron bar 6 coal

With 6 huge colonies producing granite every 6 hours for 7 days it is possible to earn 40k granite per week. I think BB should keep the cost of PVP unchanged. Any player that tries to make a profit from attacking any colony without granite is mathematically challenged !!

not many players play expeditions. BB must do something to make expeditions more attractive.

In pvp (generally in games with pvp) you always have winner and loser. winner have profit loser minus, but in settlers is problem because no one will play if he can be in minus.
also is problem with colonies because you can't play adventures and colonies in same time. player will choose to play adventures rather than colonies

I like to play PVP but should be reduced the cost of attack Bows/Sambre to 1 iron bar instead of 10/12.
This is the main reason of PVP's fail.

It will be reduced to 2 iron bar, should read the maintenance update for tomorrow...

Still with 2 iron bars can be produced 4 steel bars. Anyway its better than previous. And its time to play massive expeditions!

After 24th a lot more people will start to play PV? There are a lot of bugs– some are known, some not.

For all of the bad bugs I know I’ve sent a ticket to support, sadly I don’t think that most of them are fixed.
I have not a reply with info are they fixed , or still under investigation or closed… Just few questions about them and that was all.

By accident I found that one of my tickets (about colony search bug) is “closed and deemed resolved” big words…but only words.

Here is some Anti-bug tips for the colonies

1. When you send your explorer for colony search - hide your friend list. Don’t ask me why :). If you don’t and maybe even if you do that also (I can’t say 100% sure) - there is a chance that you will send him – but you wont get a result with colonies , you will loose coins and sausages and time because he have to recover. I had this problem before months , after I start to hide my friend list before sending explorers all is good, never happened again . well only 1 time when I sent him exactly when I received the new daily quest ~2am GMT. So it is not good idea also to send explorers on colony search around the time when BB restart the severs ~2am GMT .

2. Before you start the attacks check available medipack slots if you plan to use some or all of them - there is a bug so you can find that you already "used" some or all available before making a single attack :). Also sometimes it happens that you use 1 medipack but when you check your available medipacks left(medipack limit) – 2 gone.

3. Also check the troop limit. Sometimes there are already “dead troops” so u will have reduced troop limit - again before your first attack. I’ve not seen this bug from more then month so maybe it is fixed – but you never know.

4. Check and be sure that you can attack all camps/leaders on your path.Camps which you plan to kill or block (sometimes there are camps which cannot be attacked - you can "lie" this bug by sending attack to other camp and be intercepted but not always possible.

5. Don’t leave the expedition map during the battle – if you do that you may see troops fighting on your home island or when you go back on expedition map, other visual bugs (troops are fighting - but they don' t die ; the camp or leader is killed but the fight is not over and more). If that happens – log out and clear cache.
This is a “good” bug so all will be ok, it’s just annoying.

6. If sometimes you see that enemy camp on the map disappear (yes sometimes they do that) don’t be very excited – this bug is very bad . Again log out and clean cache, and if when you came back it is still missing, and the camp was on your future attack path - I strongly recommend you to cancel the expedition no matter how many troops you lost.

You will be able to continue... but after you kill the Boss of the map, probably not be able to finish the expedition (the quest "kill the map boss" can not be finished).
And after log out and clearing cache / yes again :) / there is a big possibility that you will find all or some marshals dead and a lot of used troops too, but the enemies - map boss , some camps and troops resurrected. So u will waste troops, medipacks (if you used some) , and it is 90% sure that you will have to cancel the colony anyway, or you will be able to take it by attacking the resurrected camps/troops/boss again if you are lucky and u have time and troops left to do it.

I've got this only 1 time (several times camp was disappearing while I was doing colonies, but only 1 time was camp on my path). When the camp missing was not on my path – i had no problems.
This maybe is fixed too because I haven’t see camp disappearing from month or more.

7. Be aware that you can be intercepted from a camp not on your way (when the marshal is passing on the border of the read interception area of this camp – when u first check there is no interception, but after you send him…..boom ).

8. You cant claim a colony while you are on lootspot (possibles sometimes but it takes time anyway) , so If you don’t want to wait – be sure that when you end your expedition you are not on lootspot ot it will be finished soon, so you can build defenses and claim the colony without waiting.

Basically if you see something strange or not normal – log out and clean cache.

100% that I miss some – the bugs are not 1 or 2 as you see.

Expedition (Collonies) cannot be called PVP because PVP is Player vs Player.
We fight against computer without players intervences.

so I just lost a colony after owning for 8 or 9 hours. So protection has gone as well.
