Would it be possible to add maybe a "red dot" where the present green one is to show if a player hasn't played in say a month. Many of us long time players have over 200 "friends" on our list and finding out who is and is not playing is time consuming. This would be of great help to a lot of people trying to tidy up their friends lists.

The succession mechanic knows when a player has not logged in for 2 weeks, might be easier to use the same 2 week time frame.

Definitely a good idea. I think we've discussed this before :D

My favorite..

You already have two filters: friends and guild friends. Why not a third filter that shows online users only?

Would be a nice feature.

Went through my friends list at Christmas, one had Easter baskets on their Island so figured they weren't playing any more.
